ABSTRACT Objective: to understand the feelings of families before drug dependence. Method: exploratory, analytical and qualitative study carried out with families of drug users, which are followed up by the Centro de Atenção Psicossocial Álcool e Drogas (Psychosocial Care Center for Alcohol and DARUGS). The collection of data took place by in-depth interview, with the support of field diary. Three visits were done, on average, for each family. The software IRAMUTEQ was adopted for textual corpus organization and was discussed in the light of Michel Maffesoli. Results: nine families participated in the research; from the analysis, four classes arose: “My life has changed a lot because of drugs”; “I fear leaving him alone”; “I trust and have faith in God”, and “I am always worried in my own house”. Final considerations: the families revealed how much drug dependence did not only affect the user, but also the whole family, provoking in the family complex feelings and emotions.

According to UNODC (The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime) in the World Drug Report in 2015, the estimated drug users in 2013 were 246 million people, where the highest number of drug cases occurred in the population of 15-64 years of age. The biggest factor that can influence the success of drug users to leave drugs forever is the strong intentions from within and positive family support. This study aimed to find out in depth regarding the process of establishing family support for rehabilitated adolescent drug abusers at Bangli Mental Hospital. This study employed a qualitative design. The qualitative data were gathered through in-depth interview to 12 informants, where 6 informants were the parents of the drug abusers, 3 nurses in the rehabilitation room, and 3 adolescents who were being rehabilitated in Bangli mental hospital. This study revealed that the family had internal and external factors as well as inhibiting factors in forming and providing support to residents. In forming support, the residents’ family had internal and external factors that influenced it, moreover they also had inhibiting factors such as feeling of weary and distance from home. Index Terms— support, family, adolescents, rehabilitation

Background and objective: The need to measure treatment outcomes in mental health services from the perspective of users and family members has been highlighted in the literature as a fundamental aspect to improve the care provided. The objective of this study was to measure the treatment outcome provided by a Brazilian Psychosocial Care Center from the perspective of outpatients and their family members. Methods: A correlational study was performed with 84 outpatients and 40 family members, between 2015 and 2016, interviewing them using the Satisfaction (SATIS-BR), Perception of Change (PCS), Independent Living Skills (ILSS) and Family Burden (FBIS-BR) scales. Results: There was a high index of satisfaction with the mental health service, with a mean of 4.23 for the users interviewed and 4.36 for the family members. The perception of change presented a mean of 2.58 for the patients and 2.19 for the family members. The independent living ability presented a mean of 2.52.Conclusions: The high indices of satisfaction suggest successes, as well as points to be improved in the mental health policy implemented in the municipality. However, reintegration into the labor market was presented as an aspect with a need for investments through health and labor policies, since it was related to the subjective burden.

Life is certainly not a fairytale and in this kind of situation, “happily ever after” is not very common. These are the stories of five women-survivors of domestic violence who dreamed of having a happy family, but in the end, their dreams contradicted reality. This interpretivist qualitative study was designed to look into a deeper understanding of collective accounts of women-survivors of domestic violence. The narrative inquiry was employed using the in-depth interview method. The study revealed that these women experienced various forms of domestic violence and were caused by men’s bad habits, problems arising from the family, and jealousy of a man or a woman. Several strategies were employed by these women to improve their lives. This tough decision to free themselves from the abuse made them better individuals, developed a stronger bond with their children, and increased faith in God.   Keywords - Domestic Violence, Violence against Women, and Children, Survivors

This research employs qualitative study with in-depth interview and observation to collecting data. In-depth interview and observation was conducted to families belong to Dayak Ngaju ethnic. The result of the research shows that three classifications attached to the characteristic of religious differences among their family members. 1) religious harmony is accommodate after serious conflict that leads to 'tolerant' attitude; 2) religious harmony is facilitated after medium conflict that leads to 'acceptance' attitude; 3) religious harmony is possible and maintained by all members of the family for they respect each other that leads to 'cooperation' attitude. This religious tolerance in the Dayak Ngaju family is possible because of three factors namely: the philosophy of huma betang, blood and family connection and the Kaharingan tradition as local wisdom.

ABSTRACT Objective: To understand the perception of a multiprofessional team regarding the use of music in a therapeutic workshop developed by nurses. Method: Qualitative study, of the exploratory type. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, with the participation of 13 professionals from a Psychosocial Care Center in a municipality of Minas Gerais’ Zona da Mata, and analyzed according to Michel Maffesoli’s comprehensive sociology approach. Results: The testimonies revealed that the use of music in the nurse’s activities in mental health represents a re-signification of nursing care and favors the user’s subjectivity. Final considerations: This study allowed us to show that nurses need to listen to the music that comes from the heart, from the soul, and to the truths that are not always stated in the scenarios of therapeutic practices with individuals going through psychic suffering. Therefore, the care offered should be centered on the human history, which wants to be unveiled and understood.

ABSTRACT Objective: to evaluate the perception of the relatives of crack users in relation to the support groups offered to this population in a Psychosocial Care Center for Alcohol and Drugs in the South of Brazil. Method: the fourth-generation theoretical framework was used for evaluation, having as methodological device the hermeneutical-dialectic circle. Data collection occurred through 500 hours of observations and interviews with 12 relatives of crack users, and the comparative constant method was used in the analysis, generating the “family group” unit of meaning. Results: this group was regarded by the family members as a space for guidance on the management of users in their home environment. They reported the need for a basic structure to conduct the groups, greater duration of the meetings, confidentiality of information and diversity of timetables. Final considerations: investment in education and training of nursing professionals focused on group care is suggested to the education institutions.

ABSTRACT Objective To discuss the lack of coordination in the Psychosocial Care Network from the conception of professionals of a Psychosocial Care Center for Alcohol and Drugs (Portuguese acronym: CAPSad). Method Qualitative study conducted with professionals from a CAPSad unit. The empirical material was produced through two reflection workshops focused on care experiences, and analysis using the discourse analysis technique. The category of analysis was integrality. Results Nine professionals participated in the study. All of them reported being part of a disarticulated service network, in disagreement with principles of the national mental health policy, which directly affects the resolution of care provided in the unit. Conclusion The operating logic in the Psychosocial Care Network tends to reduce the care of drug users to the CAPSad assistance, hence compromising the integrality of care.
