ABSTRACT Objectives: to analyze the experiences of management nurses over the primary socialization process that contributed to their professional choice and identity. Methods: qualitative and explanatory study grounded in Dubar's theory, carried out with 11 management nurses. Semi-structured interviews were conducted, transcribed, and categorized by applying discourse analysis. Results: the motivations for the professional choice and identity of management nurses were found. They were related to family influence in childhood, nursing representations, perception of care practices experienced in a health-related situation in the family, choice of nursing given its academic titles, lack of knowledge about the nursing profession, and assertive choice of this profession. Final Considerations: professional choice was closely linked to initial social processes in people's lives and the idea of a socially and uniquely built professional identity.

This qualitative study identifies and analyzes the practices of nurses regarding collective care interventions in the context of the Family Health Strategy (FHS) and its knowledge development. Semi-structured interviews were held with nurses working in the FHS and thematic analysis was used to analyze data. The theoretical framework was based on the theories of institutional analysis and work processes. The results are arranged into two main themes: Conceptions that support collective care practices and Practices of nurses in collective care. The conclusion is that nurses actively participate both in proposing, coordinating, performing and monitoring these collective actions, though they are still predominantly guided by the traditional approach to health in general and specifically to health education.

Abstract Background: parents of children with epilepsy face health-related problems of their children. Coping strategies of parents, major caregivers, affect not only their stresses but also the children's quality of life. This study investigated the coping strategies of parents of children with epilepsy at two educational hospitals affiliated with Kerman University of Medical Sciences in Iran. Method: twenty parents (15 mothers and 5 fathers), and three nurses were selected using the purposive sampling method. Data were collected using qualitative semi-structured interviews and analyzed using the method suggested by Corbin and Strauss version 2008. The Interviews were conducted until thematic saturation was achieved. Results: the coping process had five phases: disbelief, patience, change to preserve, acceptance of the current situation, and self- empowerment.In summary, the parents of children with epilepsy had a five-phase coping strategy. The core category was "continued efforts of parents to restore calm."Conclusion: properly assessing the stresses of parents of children with epilepsy and their coping strategies may help medical staff and social workers provide more targeted support and balance the family function.

This study aimed to understand how patients with hypertension perceive their family's influence on adherence and/or non-adherence to treatment. This descriptive, qualitative research was carried out in the city of Maringá, in the Brazilian state of Paraná. Data were collected at the homes of 18 respondents through semi-structured interviews, during January and February 2012. The respondents' statements were submitted to thematic content analysis. The findings showed that for some patients, the family was a facilitating agent of adherence to treatment by encouraging self-care practices. When families were not perceived as such, it was because the patients felt responsible for self-control of the disease. It was observed that stressful situations reduced self-care practices, and many patients did not receive family support to the degree that they wanted. The study concludes that some participants regarded the family to be a facilitator of adherence to the treatment of hypertension; however, others lacked family support.

: The present study aimed to describe the lived experiences of women regarding the home quarantine during the coronavirus pandemic. A qualitative study was conducted on 12 women residing in Tehran, Iran who were selected via purposive sampling. Data were collected via semi-structured interviews and analyzed by thematic content analysis. The obtained results indicated seven dimensions regarding the quarantine period from the perspective of threat and opportunity, including family (keeping the family foundation intact, incapability in controlling problems), individual (performance-based pleasure, performance-based numbness), spiritual (resorting to God, impatience), and health-related aspects (observation, indifference). Each dimension was divided into various subcategories. Our findings indicated that proper actions must be taken by all walks of life and authorities to enhance the physical and mental health of the community during this critical period.

The aim of this study was to investigate practices of health professionals for users undergoing violence from perspective of comprehensive care. This study was based on a qualitative and descriptive research on graduate-level and technical health professionals who work in the Family Health Strategy programme in a northeastern municipality of Rio Grande do Sul. Data were collected by means of semi-structured interviews and analyzed using thematic mode. Results showed that these professionals do not utilize comprehensiveness to guide their care practices with users undergoing violence. Instead, they still work according to the biomedical model in which intervention is based on referring care to other sectors and the treatment plan. The study highlights the need for more appropriation and further discussion on practices regarding violence guided by the principle of comprehensiveness within the Family Healthcare team.

Abstract Background The family is an important social environment for children’s, adolescents’ and adults’ health. However, studies mostly focused on dyadic and unidirectional influences of parents on their children. Studies addressing influences arising from daily family life and including family level influences are rare and the existing studies solely focus on the relevance for children’s health or health-related behaviors. We use a qualitative approach to explore how daily family life and its inherent health-related cues affect family members’ physical activity and eating behavior. Methods Semi-structured interviews utilizing an interview guide were conducted. Since we aimed to examine family life, we analyzed both parents’ and their children’s views on health-related interaction patterns and family environmental influences on individuals’ health-related behavior. Twenty-two members of seven families were interviewed. Transcripts of the interviews were systematically analyzed following Grounded Theory principles.Results The interviews revealed that various individual as well as environmental factors shape health-related aspects of daily family life. A model was developed that organizes these influencing factors on family life with regard to health-related interactions and the emergence of the Family Health Climate (FHC) – reflecting shared perceptions and cognitions regarding a healthy lifestyle within families – and its consequences. Family interactions and family time, often realized through shared family meals, are key factors for families’ health with regard to nutrition and physical activity. The FHC showed to affect various aspects related to health behavior of individual family members.Conclusions The model allows to gain knowledge on underlying processes and mechanisms of family life that influences individuals’ health-related behavior. Based on a better understanding of the association between family life and individual health behavior the development of family-based interventions can be informed. Furthermore, the insights can help to guide further research focusing on families as a system.

ABSTRACT Objective: To verify how socialization of nurses in the Family Health Strategy (FHS) influences their professional identity. Method: Exploratory, descriptive research, whose theoretical-methodological framework was dialectical hermeneutics, anchored in the premises of the Sociology of Professions. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with 27 nurses from the FHS of the city of São Paulo. The resulting empirical material was subjected to Discourse Analysis. Results: The choice for Nursing was influenced by previous knowledge of the profession and by the affinity with care. Socialization was not limited to what was absorbed, including the search for an individual professional identity and collective sharing. Final considerations: Nursing care is built in daily practice, mobilizing the nurse for an action that includes herself, the relationship with the other and the conditions in which the work is performed, opening the opportunity for identity reconstruction, consistent with the concreteness of the work.

The aim of this paper is to find out how the secondary socialization of children from home education takes place and to map the personal experiences and opinions of parents educating their children at home. The paper is divided into theoretical and empirical parts. The theoretical part deals with the socialization as a necessary process in the life of each individual, we describe the various types of socialization, we deal with a different concept of socialization according to where it takes place, i.e. in the home and school environment. The theoretical part forms the basis for the empirical part. For the implementation of the research, we chose qualitative research using semi-structured interviews, which were conducted with parents who currently have a child or children in home education. According to the results of the research, home schooled children are secondarily socialized in regular and sporadic meetings with other home schooled children, either as part of celebrations and other social events or for the purpose of learning together in a small group of children. Another way are friends with whom they see each other several times a week in hobby groups or visit each other. Furthermore, the family and siblings, play an important role in the socialization process. Due to age differences, siblings can help each other in many ways, learn from each other and spend free time together. The limit of the presented work is a small sample of respondents and the associated impossibility to generalize the results. However, the research went into depth on the topic and brings forward the subjective opinions and experiences of parents. Another limit is the implementation of the interviews through the telephone, which does not allow for the observation of non-verbal expressions of the respondents during the interview, which can reveal a lot.

Relevance and problem statement. Modern unstable society is characterized by narrowing the boundaries of controlled socialization and expanding the boundaries of spontaneous socialization of a teenager based on his immersion in the question arises about the importance of the family in the process of socialization of a teenager in the conditions of expanding the space of socialization. There is a need to study the role of the family in this process, to search, develop and test research methods that allow us to reveal the phenomenon of socialization from the side of its value characteristics. The purpose and methodology of the study: to identify the possibilities of a systematic and anthropological methodology for studying the role of the family in the process of socialization of adolescents in modern conditions, testing research methods: photo research on the topic “Ego – I” (author of the German sociologist H. Abels), profile update reflexive processes (by S. A. Raschetina). Materials and results of the study. The study showed that for all the problems that exist in the family of the perestroika era and in the modern family, it acts for a teenager as a value and the first (main) support in the processes of socialization. The positions well known in psychology about the importance of interpersonal relations in adolescence for the formation of attitudes towards oneself as the basis of socialization are confirmed. Today, the frontiers of making friends have expanded enormously on the basis of Internet communication. The types of activities of interest to a teenager (traditional and new ones related to digitalization) are the third pillar of socialization. Conclusion. The “Ego – I” method of photo research has a wide range of possibilities for quantitative and qualitative analysis of the socialization process to identify the value Pillars of this process.
