Home education is one of the legal (in countries that recognize it) forms of compulsory education for children and youth, which in practice consists in educating minors in the family home, without attending school. Home education understood in this way is becoming more and more popular globally. Perhaps this is due to its advantages. When considering the advantages of home education, one should also take into account (regardless of various problems associated with it) the benefits it brings to various social communities. In this article, the subject of comments is the relationship between home education and the functioning of national communities. An example is Poland as a state and nation.

The development and ease of access to transportation in South Sulawesi Province opens up opportunities for the workforce to work in areas that are administratively different from their residence as commuters. Commuter workers tend to increase every year. When Covid-19 hit the economy in Indonesia, te government issued various policies to suppress the spread of the Covid-19 virus. One of them is by implementing Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) which was also adapted by the South Sulawesi Provincial Government. The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on commuter workers is still not a concern, especially even though the restrictions on economic and social activities have a significant impact on the working hours and income of commuter workers. This study determines the factors that affect the income of commuter workers during the Covid-19 pandemic. Based on the results of the August 2020 National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas) data processing, it shows that the income received by commuter workers during the Covid-19 pandemic is influenced by the variables of working hours, business fields, employment status, policies for implementing Work from Home, education level and gender.

Millennial Youth Empowerment Through the Program for Strengthening the Identity of Muslim Youth in the Community Home Education Based Akhlak and Talent. Youth with age characteristics who have a tempestuous spirit, the development of thinking power and the development of maximum maturity, in Islamic history have contributed a lot to world civilization. But today's youth seem to have started to lose their identity. Many young people are confused about the purpose of their lives, their life orientation is not directed to the good of the afterlife Therefore, it is important to have a youth empowerment program. The research approach uses a qualitative method with field research. The results of the study revealed that the Home Education Based Akhlak and Talent (HEBAT) community is one of the programs that empowers youth with the values of fitrah-based education (Insan Kamil). The program tries to apply a fitrah assessment model with a mentoring method to ignite the nature of youth so that they shine beautifully into youth who have an empowered paradigm that is not only seen from an economic perspective, but empowered which means freedom from serving other than Allah. Youth who can have an impact on community empowerment are youth who are integrated between mental and spiritual, transmit the spirit of monotheism in addition to the science and technology they master, and are adaptive to the times. The role of the youth is as a solution for the community and as proof of work as a provision for the afterlife.

Abstract Purpose There is more and more literature dealing with home education, but this area still seems to be insufficiently explored. The aim of the article is to describe the processes and contexts of home education from the management perspective. Design/methodology/approach Initial recognition of the research subject through a literature review. A synthesising research approach was adopted, integrating the results of literature research and on this basis determining the directions of development of home education in Poland from specific perspectives. Findings One of the more interesting conclusions is the direction of changes in the law on home education: clear though slow changes towards liberalisation. Management of the educational process by parents is characterised by freedom, which translates into a variety of management styles, but two tendencies can be distinguished: conservative and liberal. Taking into account the historical aspect, the characteristic feature of home education today is its egalitarianism, not elitism. Originality/value The history of Polish education is quite complicated. Poland's enslavement by foreign countries resulted in many years of limiting education, including its various forms. Home education as an alternative to elementary schools was reactivated after 1989 and is still in statu nascendi. The article presents in a synthetic way the evolution of home education in Poland, thus outlining the trends in the development of home education from the perspective of management.

The Encouragement of Academic Skills in Young Children (EASYC) is a new measure, used to investigate the benefits of parents using in-home educational activities with their young children. The overall goals of this study were to 1) validate the EASYC as a reliable instrument for measuring parents’ at-home education practices, and 2) demonstrate the importance of providing a stimulating home educational environment for young children. In general, the EASYC was demonstrated as applicable to 4 year old children and the US sample, with future development possible for other populations. Key findings illustrated 1) the fast development of children’s learning, 2) the co-dependence of literacy and numeracy in young children, 3) that formal activities are more influential than informal activities, 4) that parental involvement is maintained across time, and 5) that culture influences how parents teach their children. The EASYC was established as a measure of parent involvement in pre-school education with a scope not previously achieved and the potential to benefit learning outcomes and school preparation in pre-school children.
