ABSTRACT Objective: to build and semantically validate a safe communication tool to systematize care transition in pediatric clinical and emergency units. Method: a methodological study, based on the Classic Theory of Psychometric Tests and on the Instrument Development Model, proposed by Pasquali, which included seven professionals, five nurses and two physicians, experts in pediatrics and/or patient safety, who followed specific criteria for inclusion. Data collection was carried out between November and December 2016 and took place with the application of a form made available to the experts via the Google Drive/Microsoft® tool in two validation rounds, conducted by the Delphi Technique, being organized into two domains with 19 items. Data analysis was performed by calculating the Content Validity Index. Results: in order to validate the content, it was necessary to reach a Content Validity Index ≥ 0.80; thus, in the first round, five items underwent changes and were adjusted according to the experts' recommendations. These were validated in the second round, maintaining two domains and nineteen items. Conclusion: the construction and content validation of the instrument can enhance and qualify the clinical practice and contribute to minimize failures in pediatric patient safety associated with effective communication.

Method: this is a qualitative study, carried out with 30 professionals from the multidisciplinary health team working in a general public hospital in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. The interviews took place between June and July 2019, using a semi-structured questionnaire and, after being recorded, the reports were transcribed. In analysis, the data were categorized by similar themes following the steps: pre-analysis, material exploration, treatment of results and interpretation. The project was approved by an Institutional Review Board. Results: among the psychological disorders presented by children and adolescents are aggressiveness, mutism, eating disorders, infantilized behavior, hypersexualized behaviors, depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic episodes, and delusions. Conclusion: the study demonstrates the perceptions resulting from the interaction allowed in caring for the multidisciplinary team to children and adolescents who experienced sexual violence and developed psychological disorders. In this way, it raises warning signs for family members, health professionals, education, protective devices and the whole of society about the need to observe signs of these changes on a daily basis, seeking to investigate their possible relationship with sexual assault.

ABSTRACT Objective: to analyze the association between violence in childhood and increase in the Body Mass Index among adolescents. Method: a cross-sectional study, conducted with 136 adolescents aged from 10 to 19 years old, monitored by a Multiprofessional Residency Program in Adolescents' Health, in health units from the municipality of Divinópolis-MG. The anthropometric assessment was conducted from March to June 2018; and information was collected referring to the socioeconomic level, demographic factors, food consumption, and physical activity of the participants. The variable related to violence in childhood was composed of five groups, obtained from a factorial analysis. Multiple regression models were used to identify the variables associated with the increase in Body Mass Index, with a significance level of 5%. Results: the prevalence of excess weight was 31.8%. The adolescents participating in the study consumed soft drinks (66.2%) and industrialized food products (66.9%) every week and ate in front of the TV every day (54.4%). The most prevalent type of abuse was emotional neglect, which affected 100% of the sample under study. An association was evidenced of physical neglect in childhood and intake of industrialized food products with the increase in the Body Mass Index z-score. Conclusion: violence in childhood and the consumption of industrialized food products were associated to the increase in Body Mass Index among adolescents. Investments in public policies for comprehensive promotion of health and protection of children and adolescents are imperious.

Method: a study conducted in July 2021 based on documentary sources extracted from an institutional form, for evaluating graduates and annual reports of the Program in the period between 2011 and 2020. The documentary data were submitted to descriptive analysis. Results: the technological, political, social and economic impacts and their respective indicators are presented as proposed by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Level Personnel for the evaluation of graduate programs. The evaluation of the impacts of graduate education in Nursing indicated that it represents a challenge to be faced, given the difficulties identifying quantitative and qualitative evidence allowing such verification. Conclusion: important impacts of the Program are evidenced; however, the indicators and respective criteria are questioned regarding the best adequacy and completeness to the field of Nursing and Health, according to the genesis and nature of Nursing care, the Nursing science and interfaces with the other fields of knowledge. Therefore, it is urgent to invest in studies and to propose indicators and criteria to evidence the real impact of the Graduate Programs in Nursing on society.

ABSTRACT Objective: to analyze the relationship among sleep and sociodemographic aspects, health, frailty, performance in activities of daily living, cognitive performance and depressive symptoms of older residents in the community. Method: a cross-sectional, quantitative study was conducted with 81 older adults residents in the area covered by a Family Health Unit in the city of São Carlos (SP), Brazil. Data collection occurred in 2019, through the application of the following instruments: questionnaire for socioeconomic and health characterization of the older adult, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, Frailty Phenotype proposed by Linda Fried, Mini Mental State Examination, Geriatric Depression Scale, Katz Index and Lawton Scale. Participants were divided into comparative groups according to sleep quality scores. Fisher's exact and Pearson's χ2 were used. A significance level of 5% was adopted. Results: 50.6% of the older adults had poor quality sleep (n=41), followed by 33.3% of older adults with good quality sleep (n=27) and 16.1% had sleep disorders (n=13). There was a relationship between sleep quality and sex (p=0.008), work status (p=0.001), self-assessment of health (p=0.013), falls (p=0.034), pain (p=0.012), frailty level (p=0.026) and the slow gait criterion (p<0.001). Conclusion: there was a higher prevalence of poor quality sleep and sleep disorders in older patients, who do not work outside the home, who evaluated their health as regular or poor, who suffered falls in the last year and who complained of pain, frailty and slow gait.

ABSTRACT Objective: to analyze the role of the therapeutic toy as a tool for the nursing diagnosis in the setting of care for the child with diabetes. Method: a qualitative multiple-case study conducted with children diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes mellitus and living in the inland of Paraná. The data were collected in 2018 through interviews, field diary and sessions using the therapeutic toy. Nursing diagnoses were elaborated according to the North American Nursing Diagnosis Association Taxonomy I and a targeted content analysis was performed, resulting in four categories. Results: using the dramatic therapeutic toy allows the child to show their perception of the disease and of the care provided. The sessions with the dramatic therapeutic toy made it possible to identify five nursing diagnoses, which were later worked on by means of an instructional therapeutic toy. Conclusion: systematization of assistance mediated by the use of the toy allows nurses to establish bonds with the child with diabetes and their family, revealing their perceptions of the disease and treatment, thereby stimulating a more active participation of the binomial in the management of this coping process.

ABSTRACT Objective to construct and validate an educational manual for family caregivers of older adult dependent on care after a stroke. Method a methodological study with four stages: focus group with five family caregivers, to identify doubts and difficulties regarding home care for older adults with stroke; preparation of the manual by six researchers; content validation by 18 specialist nurses, and face validation by 12 family caregivers. For data analysis, thematic analysis was performed, the Content Validity Index (CVI) was calculated, and the consensus of the target population was verified. Results from the focus group, the experiences and challenges faced by the caregivers in caring for aged family members with a stroke were identified, which supported the elaboration of an educative manual, in the second stage. In the expert consensus, a global CVI of 0.97 was obtained and, in face validation, a consensus of 95.51% by the target population. Conclusion an educational manual for family caregivers of older adults after a stroke was built, which was validated in terms of content and appearance. In view of this, it can be used as complementary material to the guidelines of the professionals, enabling improvement of the care provided by family members to the older adult dependent on care after a stroke.
