Medium small industry (IKM) is one of the real sectors which is a favorite of the public to compete in producing maximum profits. This sector is also a strong foundation for regional governments in developing an independent regional economy. This is the reason for the many SMIs that have sprung up and are dominated by millennials. The purpose of this study was to determine the competitive strategy using the marketing mix method and SWOT analysis on one of the tempe chips SMIs. This type of qualitative research and direct interviews are things that are used in this study. The results showed that the position of IKM Ayudy was in the quadrant I in the SWOT analysis where the right strategy to compete was to use an aggressive strategy. Ayudy IKM will take advantage of open business opportunities by focusing on the strength of its products. The competitive strategy is divided into marketing mix where its application includes a product strategy by doing innovative products, this is considered appropriate because it is to overcome boredom in consumers so that consumers remain comfortable with the product from the IKM Ayudy; pricing strategy is done by implementing wholesale prices, this is intended to facilitate sales quickly; location strategy by opening sales outlets directly aimed at consumers especially those located far from production houses; and of course promotional strategies through social media that make products more known and have an impact on increasing sales

In the food industry competition in Indonesia, Big Boy Bakery which is a small-scale food industry competes with the food industry both small and large scale. This pressured Big Boy Bakery to continue to grow both in increasing the quality and quantity of production. One method that will be used is planning the layout of facilities at the production site so that it becomes the basis for consideration of the placement of important elements in the design of the construction of future production sites. Facility layout is carried out because there are differences in the distance between production operations and other production operations which cause inefficiencies in productivity. In this problem approach the method used in Big Boy Bakery layout planning is the Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) method. The function of SLP is to improve the layout of Big Boy Bakery, by finding alternatives that have been considered with important elements in production operations that have been taken into account at either the level of interaction, or other needs. Placement of important elements such as proper production operations, will reduce travel costs, and waste time, so that the planned layout can provide increased productivity efficiency. With the proposed spatial planning made, it is hoped that it can make a significant contribution to the development of Big Boy Bakery.

Family business in the food industry managed by five of nine siblings is experiencing declining sales and rising costs. A board of partners must set new directions and policies for the future. The case begins by describing the origin of the problem and then makes a historical account of the development of the company during its 24 years of existence. It exposes the factors and situations that generated its current structure, both internal and its environment. The objective is to awaken in business administration students, particularly in marketing, an analytical and research capacity that will allow them to broaden and deepen their knowledge of topics such as the decision-making process in marketing, new procedures or innovation of existing ones with respect to the management of the elements of the marketing mix, design of strategic plans and marketing programs that guarantee the permanence of an organization. Every business requires a good marketing mix to introduce, grow, and sustain in this highly competitive market economy. The day before yesterday marketers were rarely looking at online based marketing efforts, instead, they were just relaying on conventional marketing mix. With the presence of highly growingInternet users, relative low cost and easy going strategies, ‘online marketing’ is also becoming so crucial for every business hub. By getting the balance of offline and online advertising right, marketing mix will help provide everything firms need to gain leads, increase sales, improve customer retention, and rocket the company profits. The study has a comprehensive perspective and provides a bird’s eye view of the online marketing practice in Bangladesh. This discussion is extended with an examination of the studies that compare conventional marketing practices with the principles and rules of the online marketing world particularly the four major components of the traditional marketing mix in an online context. To understand the online marketing environment in the country a greater sense of the study has extended its overall views from both the consumers and business perspectives. This study provides an effort to understand the relationship between online marketing exercise and the area of business operation (international vs. domestic) as well as gives an idea why marketers use Internet in the country. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the implementation of marketing mix in online business company, whether the online business adopt solely the traditional marketing mix model or the internet factors is also included, since the business platform itself in on social media. Descriptive research and content analysis using interview and observation were used to analyse the marketing mix implementation in Galeristorey online business. Evidence suggested that Galeristorey implemented few elements of the marketing mix both the traditional marketing mix and the online marketing mix. The cause of the limited use of marketing mix elements because of the barriers faced by Galeristorey as an SME. Further researcher may widen the research sample and creates empirical study on the marketing mix implementation of online business that used social media as its main business platform.DOI: 10.15408/etk.v16i1.3950
