This study examines the possible effects of dividend policy on firm value. The study covers 10 quoted companies studied for the period of 1995-2015. In so doing, the methodology adopted is the ordinary least square regression analysis for primary data analyses and multiple regression analysis for the secondary data analyses with models MPS (Market Price Per Share) as dependent variable, EPS (Earnings Per Share) and DPS (Dividend Per Share) as independent variables. The co-efficient of determination is R2 to evaluate the data collected from the ten studied companies and the Nigerian stock exchange. The study shows the relevance of dividend, dividend as a signaling model and proves that firm value is greatly influenced by dividend policy as far as public limited companies are concerned.

Dividend policy plays a major role in maximization of shareholders wealth. The objective of this paper is to investigate how dividend policy of a company affects market price per share. Secondary data was obtained from the Nigerian Stock Exchange and annual financial statements of selected companies. The study employed ordinary least square (OLS) regression technique using e-view software to establish the relationships between the variables dividend policy and stock prices of the selected companies. The findings aligned with the Lintner’s (1956) findings that decrease in or non-payment of dividend could convey wrong signals to investors. KEYWORDS: Dividend policy, Nigerian Stock Exchange, firms, financing decision

This study aims to empirically investigate the association between degree of leverages, operating and financial, and firm value in the context of India, one of big ten emerging markets (Garten, 1997). This study examines this association for 231 manufacturing firms listed in National Stock Exchange (NSE) in India over a period from 2001-2002 to 2010-2011. The independent variables, degrees of operating and financial leverage, and a market price-based dependent variable, called price-earnings ratio as a proxy of firm value, are taken to examine this relationship by using standard ordinary least square regression models at the levels of individual firm and portfolio of firms. The findings of this study show a statistically significant negative relationship between firm value and degree of operating leverage and a statistically insignificant relationship between firm value and degree of financial leverage both at the levels of individual firm and portfolio of firms. Using the data from a country like India, one of fastest growing emerging markets in the world, this study provides an important insight on the effect of leverages on the firm value, the association between independent accounting variables and stock price-based dependent variable, to the practitioners, the scholars and the finance managers.

This study aims to test the agency theory in privatized Indonesian State-Owned Enterprises. The agency problem in this study was proxied by firm value (Tobin's Q) while the agency problem control mechanism was proxied by institutional ownership, leverage, and dividend policy. This study examines the interchangeable relations between the three variables. The data used in this study are secondary data sourced from the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The research sample is all SOEcompanies that meet the criteria and are listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in the 2013-2017 observation period. The analytical tool used in this study was 2SLS (Two-Stage Least Square) with panel data techniques and simultaneous models. The results showed that dividend policy and institutional ownership have a substitution relationship in reducing agency problems, whereas leverage and dividend policy, as well as institutional ownership and leverage, do not have a substitute relationship in reducing agency problems.

This study aims to analyze the effect of company growth, capital structure, and dividend policy on firm value in property, real estate, and building construction companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2013-2017. The data used are secondary data and the method used is panel data regression analysis with the help of the Eviews 9 program to obtain a comprehensive picture of the relationship between one variable with another variable. The sample in this study consisted of 19 companies that were consistently listed on the IDX for 5 years in the 2013-2017 period with purposive sampling as a sampling method. The results of this study are that the variable capital structure and dividend policy have a significant influence on the firm's value partially at a level of significance of less than 5%. While the company's growth variable does not have a significant effect on the company's value partially. The results of the simultaneous regression analysis found that company growth, capital structure, and dividend policy together affect the value of the company. The predictive ability of the three variables on firm value is 72.1% while the remaining 27.9% is influenced by other factors

For the empirical evidences, data collected from non-financial firms listed at the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX). Results of logistic regression shows that Capital Opacity, Profitability, Financial Leverage, Firm Size and Slack have positive impact on the implementation of an ERM system but Industrial diversification, Industry and Return on Equity are negatively related to an ERM engagement. The results of ordinary least square regression finds positive relationship between use of an ERM and firm value.

A number of related literatures have shown that the Nigerian capital market variables studied has satisfactory market performance and has contributed to economic growth. Yet some researchers observed that the capital market has not significantly mobilized and effectively channeled substantial capital to the real sector of the economy. What could have been the reason for the divergences? The study was anchored on the demand following hypothesis. Secondary data were sourced from Central Bank of Nigeria Statistical Bulletin and Nigeria Stock Exchange fact-book of various editions. The paper adopted the ex-post facto research design while ordinary least square regression techniques was used to process the data gathered using E-views 9.0 software. The null hypotheses (Ho) were tested at 5% level of significance. The findings of the paper revealed that there is negative and insignificant relationship between capital market and the variables studied. The paper conclude that liquidity of the capital market is pivotal for economic growth in Nigeria while the study recommended that all tiers of government should be encouraged to fund their realistic long term developmental program through the Nigeria capital market.
