In this article, Annie Rogers explores the etymology of courage, and links the "ordinary courage" of eight- to twelve-year-old girls with an old meaning of the word: "to speak one's mind by telling all one's heart." She then observes how this ordinary courage is lost as many girls reach early adolescence. Her observation is embedded in a newly emerging psychology of women based on empirical studies of girls, which have documented a striking loss of voice, of resiliency, and of self-confidence in girls as they enter early adolescence. These studies have identified this as a time of particular vulnerability and risk in young women's psychological development, as it becomes increasingly dangerous for them to speak their minds truthfully within the context of cultural conspiracies to silence women's knowledge. In order to capture the girls' inner life of feeling, Rogers introduces a "poetics of research," a particular discourse grounded in feminist epistemology and methodology, as well as the voice-centered,relational practice of research she has helped to create.

In a patriarchal society, women have to undergo multiple struggles and challenges and require an indomitable spirit to quench her thirst of success. It is highly important to analyze the psychology of women in her loses and happiness. As a woman novelist, Shashi Deshpande novels mostly centered on Women's lives and their challenges to survive in the Indian society. The female protagonist in Small Remedies has gone through several loses and grief beyond her success. Other women characters also built their strong identity after crossing all the barriers and awakening the collective consciousness.

Cassius Dio asserts that the emperor Augustus’ social legislation arose from an imbalance in numbers between men and women among the Roman elite. This chapter considers how this statement has been understood in historical readings of the laws. It also argues that Dio’s assertion should be seen instead as one more instance of the ways that the legislation not only gives us access to knowledge about women’s lives but also attempts to generate more “knowledge” and questions about them. The chapter utilizes feminist epistemology in its discussion of legal and social matters. It is interested in facts as well as the absence of facts in locating women in ancient narratives.

Increasing the effectiveness of learning is a way to achieve the success of educational development. One way to achieve learning effectiveness is to use learning media to simplify and make the learning process effective. This research aims to reveal as many empirical studies on effectiveness as possible through articles published in international journals to explain to educators the impact of implementing Moodle as a learning media. This research used a literature study method. The results of this study provide an explanation that Moodle can improve student achievement, motivation, communication, interest, discipline and increase self-confidence.

One essential element of musical expression is the living sound, capable of holding the constant attention of the audience. This lesson traces that ubiquitous concept from Caccini’s “swelling and abating of the voice” (1602) to the violin études of Mazas (1843). In the Baroque sound world, free from the all-pervasive vibrato of modern times, it was the responsibility of the bow to provide this ‘inner life of sound.’ Based mainly on the writings of Tartini, Geminiani, and Leopold Mozart, all of whom are quoted, this lesson contains five exercises for perfecting the expressive device that guaranteed this living sound, the “Messa di voce.” The many different aspects of its technique, gleaned from the sources, are isolated and explained in detail, from simple pressure with the forefinger to the addition of vibrato: two composers who indicated this device in their compositions, Veracini and Piani, are quoted and illustrated.

You have illuminated women's lives, their personalities, their development, and their adaptation to change. You have advanced feminist theory, and your academic leadership has created the opportunity for students to do graduate work in feminist psychology. We honor you and your work with gratitude. In this essay I make two arguments. First, I argue for the value of ethnographically informed methods in psychology in general and particularly for the psychology of women. Second, I argue for the importance of the role of generation in psychology, perhaps particularly in the study of values and social identities. In advancing these arguments, I draw on evidence from an ongoing, ethnographically informed study of the graduates of a Midwestern high school in the mid-1950s and late 1960s. The two generations of graduates have distinctive accounts of their experiences, with the older generation's accounts consistent across gender and race, and the younger generation's accounts inflected by both race and gender. Differences in the form of generational identity in the two cohorts are discussed.

This study analysed the implementation of classical puppet drama performance to improve students’ speaking skill in International Class Program of one of universities in Salatiga. The teaching and learning processes in drama class were(1 ) asking the students with the question, (2) designing drama project plan, (3) creating drama preparation schedules, (4) monitoring the students in preparing the drama, (5) assessing the outcome, and (6) evaluating students’ drama performance. This study was qualitative research in the form of case study. To collect the data the researcher used observation, interview, documentation, and questionnaire. The results showed that by using drama performance, students can improve their pronunciation, fluency, accuracy, handle the voice, and body language to improve their self-confidence to speak in English. Moreover, the used of 4Cs skills activities namely critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity skills in the classroom can stimulate students to improve their group work and interaction among students.

The consistency of children's interactions has an impact on their subsequent social growth. It can be shown that children who avoid contact with their peers also exist; children who barely socialize with their friends, choose to be lonely, are reserved, and lack self-confidence. Meanwhile, children can develop the ability to facilitate and sustain social connections, as well as dispute resolution skills such as taking turns playing, negotiating, and even negotiation, by their partnerships with their peers. When engaging in these types of tasks, children often undergo a pattern of synchronization between their comprehension, execution, and desired outcome. Children may create bonds through this experience, and can offer a sense of comfort away from family members.

This study is a review of 34 empirical studies internationally and in Greece from 2008-2018 and aims at investigating:a. the implementation of student self-assessment in Higher education and the outcomes on students, b. the ability ofstudents to self-assess accurately and the factors that affect this ability. According to the main findings, self-assessmentis implemented through various ways that include inter alia electronic and non-electronic self-assessment tools.Internationally, most studies have examined and proved the contribution of student self-assessment to improvement ofperformance and learning. Moreover, self-assessment develops self-regulating learning, increases self-confidence,motivates students to ask guidance from their professors and help from their peers, increases self-efficacy, students’awareness of self-assessment ability and self-control, makes students change attitudes towards course, preparesemployability skills of students, reduces anxiety for assessment, increases students’ responsibility about theirlearning, makes them have a critical view on their work and develops critical thinking skills. In Greece, it was foundonly one study that examined the implementation of student self-assessment in Higher education and its impact onstudents and findings indicate that self-assessment through a quiz improves performance, self-regulation, motivatesstudents to try more and helps them identify gaps in their learning. Student self-assessment ability and factors thataffect this ability have been examined only internationally, so in Greece there is a research gap concerning theseparameters. Tertiary students can self-assess accurately and this ability depends on specific factors such asconfidence, prior achievement, learning style, scaffolding from professors, training, dialogical interaction anddynamic assessment.
