On the territory of the garden and park landscapes of the Middle Pobuzhzhia 31 species of higher vascular plants that have national or regional protection status have been revealed or cited in literature. Of these, 9 species are listed in the current edition of the Red Data Book of Ukraine, 10 species have regional protection status in Vinnytsia region and 20 species in Cherkasy region. National Dendrological Park «Sofiyivka» NAS of Ukraine has the largest number of species from the Red Data Book of Ukraine (8 species): Tulipa quercetorum, Euonymus nana, Scopolia carniolica, Allium ursinum, Pulsatilla pratensis, Pulsatilla patens, Trapa natans, Epipactis helleborine, Neottia nidus-avis. Only by one rare species were revealed in the Pechersky (Scopolia carniolica), Sokiletsky (Pulsatilla pratensis), Verkhivsky (Trapa natans) and Kryzhopilsky (Epipactis helleborine) parks. Phytoindication assessment of the identified localities showed that the most of them are on the border or even outside their ecological-coenotic amplitude by one or more factors, which indicates their vulnerability to external influences. Currently, the greatest threat to the existence of species at present is the recreational load, so according to the Law on the Red Data Book of Ukraine, they all need proper protection measures.

As a result of the field study, carried out in June 2019, 34 species of bright-spored myxomycetes from 11 genera, 5 families and 4 orders of the subclass Lucisporomycetidae were collected in the Pyatykhatskyi Forest Massif, PFM (Kharkiv, Ukraine). Among the found orders of the myxomycetes, Trichiales (20 species) prevails by number of species, demonstrating much larger diversity, than Cribrariales (7 species), Reticulariales (5) and Liceales (2). Among the families of the Lucisporomycetidae, the leading position is occupied by Trichiaceae (19 species); the rest of the families revealed the fewer number of species. Among the genera of myxomycetes, Cribraria Pers., Trichia Haller, and Arcyria F.H. Wigg. were the most abundant regarding the number of species. The species from the five leading genera represent 70.6% of the total species diversity of Lucisporomycetidae in PFM. All the myxomycetes species were found on substrates formed by tree plant species; only Arcyria cinderea, Hemitrichia serpula and Tubifera ferruginosa were also found on bryophyte, while A. denudata was also collected on the wet soil. Among the substrates formed by woody plants, the two-thirds of myxomycete species were observed on the dead wood. On the substrates formed by Quercus robur, Acer platanoides and Tilia cordata, 18 species of myxomycetes were found, including 14, 12, and 4 species on each of these substrate-forming plants, respectively. The taxonomic structure of the myxomycete biota on different types of substrate-forming plants is significantly different. On Tilia cordata, Fraxinus excelsior and Quercus robur more than half of the taxonomic spectrum is formed by species of Trichiaceae, on the Pinus sylvestris the family Cribrariaceae dominates, while on A. platanoides species from the Reticularaceae appear to be the most diverse. The presence of the only representative of Dianemataceae, C. metallica, found on the bark of T. cordata, and a moderate diversity of Liceaceae on F. excelsior seem to be noteworthy. The data obtained allow us to characterize the biota of the brightspored myxomycetes of the PFM as mostly xylophilic, with a predominance of Cribrariales and Trichiales and a tendency of sporulation on the dominant species of forest-forming plants.

AbstractThe maintenance of protected lichen species and their biodiversity in general depends on good management practices based on their distribution and habitat preferences. To date, 10 of the 17 protected lichen species of Hungary have been recorded in the Bakony Mts including the Balaton Uplands region. Habitat preferences of three protected Cladonia species (C. arbuscula, C. mitis and C. rangiferina) growing on underlying rocks of red sandstone, basalt, Pannonian sandstone and gravel were investigated by detailed sampling. We recorded aspect, underlying rock type, soil depth, pH and CaCO3 content, habitat type (as defined by the General National Habitat Classification System Á-NÉR), all species of lichen, bryophyte and vascular plants as well as percentage cover of exposed rock, total bryophytes, lichens, vascular plants and canopy, degree of disturbance and animal impacts. Sporadic populations of these species mostly exist at the top of hills and mountains in open acidofrequent oak forests, but they may occur in other habitats, such as closed acidofrequent oak forests, slope steppes on stony soils, siliceous open rocky grasslands, open sand steppes, wet and mesic pioneer scrub and dry Calluna heaths. Cladonia rangiferina was found to grow beneath higher canopy cover than either C. arbuscula or C. mitis in the Balaton Uplands. Furthermore, there were significant differences in canopy cover between occupied and unoccupied quadrats in the case of all three species. Cladonia rangiferina is a good indicator species of natural habitats in Hungary due to its restricted distribution and low ecological tolerance. These results may lead to the adoption of effective conservation methods (e.g. game exclusion, artificial dispersal) in the future.

The Transcarpathian plain is the northeastern part of the large Middle Danube lowland in the Transcarpathian region. The length of the plain is 80–90 km, the width is 22–23 km, the height is 102–120 m asl. Within the Transcarpathian plain stands out the Berehiv hills, represented by single volcanic mountains of 300-500 m altitude (Black Mountain – 568 m asl, Shalanka – 372 m asl. and other). The Transcarpathian plain is located mainly on the right bank of the Tisza River. Soil-forming rocks are mostly acidic. The climate of the Transcarpathian plain is humid, temperate and continental. The spontaneous flora of the Transcarpathian plain consists of 1209 species of higher vascular plants. Depending on the ecological and coenotic affiliation of flora species to the main zonal vegetation types, seven florencoenotypes were identified in the territory of the studied region: 1) Immoral (Nemoralophyton) – 375 coenoelements (33.33% of the total number of species). In the composition of the Nemoralophyton the florencoenosvites are distinguished: a) oak-hornbeam (Querceto-carpinetophytum) – 130 coenoelements (10.75%); b) helio-quercetal (Quercetophytum) – 171 coenoelements (14.14%); c) fagetal (Fagetophytum) – 74 coenoelements (6.12%); 2) Meadow (Pratophyton) – 220 coenoelements (18.2%). As a part of the Pratophyton the florencoenosvites are: а) flood-meadow (Humidopratophytum) – 92 coenoelements (8.02%); b) land-meadow (Mesopratophytum) – 132 coenoelements (10.92%); 3) Meadow-steppe (Prato-Steppophyton) – 164 coenoelements (13.56%); 4) Xerothermic shrub (Xerothamnophyton) – 32 coenoelements (2.65% ); 5) Marsh (Paludophyton) – 31 coenoelements (2.56%); 6) Hygro-hydrophilic (Hyhro-Hydrophyton) – 129 coenoelements (10.67%). As a part of the Hygro-Hydrophyton the florencoenosvites are: a) coastal-water (Hygrophytum) – 79 coenoelements (6.53%); b) aqueous (Hygrophytum) – 50 coenoelements (4.13%); 7) Synanthropic (Synantropophyton) – 285 coenoelements (23.57%). In the composition of the Syntantropophyton the florencenosvites are as follows: a) vegetative vegetation (Segetalophytum) – 132 coenoelements (10.92%) and b) ruderal vegetation (Ruderalophytum) – 153 coenoelements (12.65%). The results of the analysis of the ecological-coenotic structure of the flora of the Transcarpathian plain showed that the leading position is occupied by species of the immoral florenceonotype (Nemoralophyton) (with the predominance of the helio-quercetal florencoenosvita (Quercetophytum); meadow (Pratophyton) (with the predominance of land-meadow florencoenosvita (Mesopratophytum) and meadow-steppe (Prato-Steppophyton) florencoenotypes. The distribution of species by major ecological-coenotic groups reflect the features of the main genetic types of vegetation, climatic, edaphic conditions and terrain of the territory under study

This study provides a comprehensive list of Turkey aphid fauna (Hemiptera: Aphididea). A total of 466 species and 12 subspecies belonging to 141 genera and 13 tribes, are listed. The list includes all records from 1903 to 2011. The family of Aphididae comprise the highest number of species (457), followed by Adelgidae (6) and Phylloxeridae (3), respectively. Inside Aphididae, the tribe of Macrosiphini is the richest group with 197 species, whereas the tribe of Cinarini has only one species. The number of aphid species actually reported for Turkey is lower than recorded for neighboring countries, suggesting that further faunistic studies needs to improve informations on this topic.

Located in southwestern Maranhão, the Parque Nacional da Chapada das Mesas (PNCM), with an extent of about 160,046 ha, is completely inserted in the Cerrado phytogeographic domain. The topography is characterized by a plateau formation consisting of steep hills and medium-altitude mountains with flat tops, which give the PNCM its name. We present an annotated checklist of the mosses that occur in the PNCM. Our checklist includes 26 species of pleurocarpous mosses distributed in 10 families and 22 genera and two species of cladocarpous mosses of the family Orthotrichaceae. The most species-rich families of pleurocarpous mosses were Sematophyllaceae (7 spp.), Pylaisiadelphaceae (6 spp.), and Stereophyllaceae (4 spp.). Eleven species are recorded for the first time from Maranhão and three species are recorded for the first time in the northeast region of Brazil. Taxithelium pluripunctatum (Renauld & Cardot) W.R. Buck and Trichosteleum glaziovii (Hampe) W.R. Buck, are recorded for the first time from Maranhão and the Cerrado phytogeographic domain. Our results expand the knowledge of the Brazilian bryoflora and add distribution data for a number of species in Maranhão and the northeast region.

There are 11 plant species of the Orchidaceae family in the city area of Tyumen; eight of them are protected in the Tyumen region, one species is included in the Red Book of Russia. Representatives of the family are found in the urban forest complex, roadside forest belts, on lawns and in public gardens of the central part of the city. Most species are represented locally by single specimens or small groups; three species – Epipactis helleborine, Platanthera bifolia and Neottianthe cucullata can form large complete coenopopulations. The main anthropogenous factors negatively affecting the condition of orchids in the city are: reconstruction of roads and plantations, regular mowing of grass in the habitats of plants. The protection of species requires coordinated efforts of municipal services for the improvement of urban areas and environmental organizations.
