Colleges of education encompassed the production of professional teachers who are equipped with skills and methodologies of teaching in our primary and junior secondary levels of education in Nigeria. Essentially, colleges of education are to provide full-time courses in teaching, instruction and training and to conduct courses in education for qualified teachers. In order to achieve this objective, academic quality assurance is required. Against this background, the paper examines academic quality assurance and determines the general opinion on academic quality assurance in the colleges of education. It equally highlights some challenges to academic quality assurance in the colleges of education. Finally, the paper proffered some solution required by the colleges of education to stamp out the challenges for future development. Finally, the paper recommends that there should be regular monitoring and evaluation of all the units concern with the certification of colleges of education graduates.

University of Christian Indonesian Paulus (UKI Paulus) had started the college quality assurance system by setting the standard, policy and quality of documents. However, it is not supported yet by the information system, which make the process of standard socialization, policy and quality document were not effective and causes limited access to anyone who need the information. Moreover, during the implementation of monitoring and evaluation (monev), quality audits is also inefficient and become a barrier for the implementation of the quality assurance system. Therefore, the information system based on data Internal Academic Quality Audit (Audit MutuAkademik Internal/AMAI) was developed using Unified Modeling Language as part of information and communication technology. The assessment of AMAI of UKI Paulus was carried out by the auditors to every departments by seeing the audited form then count the score of each rubric in order to obtain the standard value and perspective. The system of AMAI provides the report of academic quality assessment from each department to the related leader of the implementation unit. The presence of this system had helped the implementation of quality assurance system for university in order to improve the quality of their institution. The development of information system based on data, AMAI, uses the five stages paradigm of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC): (1) identification of system requirements; (2) analysis and modeling system; (3) making the system; (4) system assessment and improvement; (5) implementation.

This study aims to determine the evaluation of the academic quality assurance program at the Sultan AMAI State Islamic Institute of Gorontalo. The method used in this research is the descriptive method with the CIPP model (Context, Input, Process, Product). Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed a lack of alumni readiness to enter the business and professional world so that there were some alumni from one of the departments who had a long waiting period; There are still many departments/study programs that are accredited C. There is still a lack of professional staff in the field of research and community service; There is still a lack of research and community service involving students; Lack of application/transfer of technology as a result of community service with community needs; Internal service programs were still dominant; The community service partnership network has not been maximized; Not yet well-coordinated the target areas/villages; Weak monitoring and evaluation of community service programs, so that it cannot be ascertained that its implementation is in accordance with the scientific field.

The modern development of society determines the forms and content of the process of teaching foreign languages. The quantity and quality of information in the field of mastering a foreign language is constantly growing as a means of sociocultural, linguistic and cultural and professional development of an individual. A foreign language is currently considered as an integral part of intercultural communication in various fields of objective reality and the development of a culture of interethnic communication. In the process of teaching a foreign language, technologies are becoming increasingly important which makes it possible to achieve the required level of communicative competence in speaking and writing in a shorter time frame and to recreate a virtual spatial temporal communication environment with native speakers. In this regard, the form of distance learning can be more and more prospective, being psychologically more comfortable for students and teachers; many of its elements can be integrated into other forms of training. The article exposes certain information technologies, the use of which increases the effectiveness of teaching a foreign language in distance, part-time and full-time courses. On the example of specific interactive multimedia Internet resources in the field of learning the German language, the urgent importance of using computerized teaching methods for acquiring and enhancing pronunciation, lexical and grammatical skills and knowledge with the aim of forming linguistic and cultural and professional competence of students is emphasized. At the same time, the article highlights importance of non-verbal forms of communication for achieving the desired effect of verbal communication, while relying on relevant audiovisual Internet resources.

In this paper the problems of introducing the teaching of a specialized subject into undergraduate courses are discussed with particular reference to the specific features of machine-tool technology. These cover the facts that the machine must be considered as part of an overall manufacturing system, so that the concept of performance differs from that encountered in other types of machinery such as internal-combustion engines, and that technological, economic, and human aspects must also be considered. Comparisons are made between Continental, particularly German, practice and present practice in some British universities. Some typical approaches to the organization of postgraduate full-time courses and short-term specialized courses are given. Finally, a comparison is made between the employment of university trained engineers in the machine-tool manufacturing and using industries in Great Britain and in Germany.

AIM: The most frequent use of medications in the geriatric population occurs in skilled nursing facilities. This quality assurance study prospectively examines the high number of prescriptions ordered for long-term nursing facility residents throughout their first year after admission. METHODS: The investigators prospectively followed 101 consecutive long-term-stay older adult residents at the Joyce Eisenberg Keefer Medical Center, a nursing facility of Los Angeles Jewish Home for the Aging (LAJH) over a 12-month period. Preadmission prescriptions were obtained for 91 residents, as well as prescriptions at 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year after admission. The number of prescriptions by staff physicians and outside physicians was examined. RESULTS: Over the 12 months following admission, the mean number of scheduled prescriptions increased significantly from 11.1 prior to admission to 13.0 by 6 months and to 13.3 by 12 months (P-value < 0.05). The residents who were hospitalized during the 12 months of observation received significantly more scheduled, as needed, and total prescriptions than those not hospitalized. Physicians employed full time by LAJH ordered significantly fewer additional prescriptions than physicians with outside practices. The patients of the staff physicians also had fewer hospitalizations than those of the outside physicians. CONCLUSION: This quality assurance study reveals a statistically significant increase in the number of prescriptions made in a long-term care setting over a 12-month prospective study. Patients of staff physicians received fewer prescriptions and were hospitalized less frequently than patients of physicians who practiced outside LAJH.

Academic integrity is a key measure of the quality, efficiency and competitiveness of higher education systems. This article explores how a quality assurance agency can foster a conducive environment for academic quality and integrity. A self-study methodology was used, with a focus on the insights and experiences of the Zimbabwe Council for Higher Education over a 10-year period. The findings show that by assuming an innovative and transformational leadership role in instilling a culture of self-evaluation, as well as maintaining its own integrity, an external quality assurance agency can improve academic integrity. The article adds value to the existing knowledge by advancing the higher education ecosystem approach as an integrity-based panacea and conducive way to induce integrity to flow from all players as opposed to the use of heavy-handed regulatory approaches.

In article aspects of granting by the employer to the employee of a standard tax deduction on an income tax on the child of full-time courses, the graduate student, the intern, the student, the cadet aged up to 24 years are considered. The amount of these deductions has been considered, the conditions for obtaining this deduction by the employees of the company have been analyzed, the documents on the basis of which this type of deduction is provided have been disclosed, the peculiarities of the deduction in cases when the child is 24 years old in the current year (the period from which deductions are not provided), the peculiarities of the deduction in case the child is disabled in group I and II have been considered. Practical examples are given.

In the critical care unit setting, a quality assurance program is based on the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) ten-step model for monitoring and evaluation. The addition of nursing standards of patient care and standards of nursing practice to that ten-step model provides the vital link between patient expectations, staff performance, and quality assurance in that unit
