Objectives: In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, much in-person data collection has been suspended or become tele-remote. However, tele-remote methods often exclude marginalized groups, including people who use drugs, many of whom lack the technology to participate. To inform future surveillance and research during the pandemic and other public health disasters, we report methods and lessons learned from an in-person survey of people who use opioids conducted by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) during the COVID-19 pandemic. Materials and Methods: This public health surveillance was a component of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Overdose Data to Action initiative and aimed to inform overdose prevention efforts. Survey domains inquired about participants’ drug use patterns, risk behaviors, overdose history, and service use. Results: From June 16 through September 9, 2020, DOHMH staff members conducted 329 surveys with participants from 4 syringe service programs (n = 148, 44.9%) and via street intercept (n = 81, 55.1%). To survey participants safely and effectively, it was important to build rapport upfront so that requests to maintain distance were not perceived as stigmatizing. DOHMH staff members offered all participants, regardless of survey eligibility, Narcan and hygiene products, including face masks and soap. Practice Implications: Surveys administered outdoors during the COVID-19 pandemic should be limited to 30 minutes. Although conducting in-person surveys poses unique challenges, this method should be considered so marginalized populations are included in data collection and public health responses.

This chapter reviews some of the low-tech as well as the high-tech devices available for a wide variety of students with special learning needs. A history of assistive technology devices is explored and defined. Assistive technology has increased in use in recent decades due to accessibility of computers and the digital age. Digital devices such as hand held scanners, online learning environments, and digital resources have changed the educational experiences for students with special needs and disabilities. In response, teacher in-service programs and ongoing professional development programs need to be involved to understand and develop appropriate 21st-century learning opportunities and curricula. Future trends, such as virtual reality (VR) environments, allow opportunities for safe, effective learning. To assist in understanding and choosing the appropriate devices, multiple resources, such as global and national organizations, and online resources are provided.

Narcotics addicts and victims of narcotics abuse must undergo medical and social rehabilitation, according to Article 54 of Indonesia's Narcotics Law. The government then issued a rehabilitation policy for them under the authority of three state institutions, namely the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Social Affairs, and the National Narcotics Agency. This causes overlapping and tug-of-war among stakeholders when it comes to developing policies and implementing rehabilitation services for addicts and victims of narcotics abuse, resulting in no method that becomes a guideline for rehabilitation implementation, on the report of an Ombudsman study. The aim here is to investigate how the laws of Rehabilitation Service Standards for Addicts and Victims of Drug Abuse are harmonized. The approach used is normative juridical. According to the study's findings, the regulations are hierarchically aligned, but the implementation of each rehabilitation program has a Service Standard. There is a vertical disparity in the definitions of medical and social rehabilitation and service providers and service recipients. Horizontally, there are differences in the determination of the implementing agency, service standards such as service programs, human resources, infrastructure, and activity funding sources. As a result, medical and social rehabilitation implementation is separated, resulting in a lack of comprehensive services for service recipients.

The COVID pandemic prompted most parishes to provide resources for worship in the household: service programs, websites with the Daily Office, pre-recorded worship, and live-streamed liturgies. Thus, the pandemic has drawn attention to household worship, a long-standing practice among Christians but one that has been frequently overlooked in seminary education and pastoral practice. This essay considers the sources alive in Anglican and Episcopal communities that support such practices and also considers the unfortunate tendency to create a learned dependency on religious professionals and the need to foster practices that cultivate Christian identity in the household.

This community service is a downstreaming of the research results that have been carried out by servants in 2020 with the influence of innovation on social media adoption on the marketing performance of Sleman SMEs. This community service partner is the Brajan Sleman Bamboo Craft UKM Association. The results of research conducted by researchers in 2020 show that many SMEs in Sleman, especially the Bambu Brajan SMEs, have greatly prevented Covid-19 and sales have decreased drastically. The decline in sales of bamboo handicrafts has caused the people in the Brajan area to be threatened with poverty. Research findings that have been carried out by researchers, show that the ability to change the direction of digital marketing is an urgent matter that causes sales to decline. This community service program is intended to assist SMEs producing Bamboo handicrafts in Brajan to be able to rise again during the new normal covid-19 pandemic. Some of these community service programs are carried out to help improve the skills of SME human resources in dealing with digital marketing, through training programs on social media creation, website creation, and how to enter the market to increase demand for products produced by bamboo craftsmen and assistance in improving HR soft skills.
