Umbilical cord cyst refers to any cystic lesion associated with the umbilical cord. Cord cysts can be defined as true or false cysts and may occur in any location along the cord. They are irregular in shape and are located between the cord vessels. Authors are reporting the case of an infant with an umbilical cord tumor which had twice been misdiagnosed previously as a hemangioma, based on ultrasound image of its cystic and solid component with good vascular supply. The ultrasound image most likely suggestive of a hemangioma as a differential diagnosis led to caesarean section in our patient (based on large size of the lesion and fear of rupture of same during process of labour). The definitive diagnosis was made only after birth of the baby. Final diagnosis of true umbilical cord cyst was made after histopathological examination. Thus, there can be confusion in the diagnosis between umbilical cord hemangiomas and umbilical cord cysts based on ultrasound.

Umbilical cord cyst refers to any cystic lesion that are associated with the umbilical cord. They are classified as true cysts or pseudocysts. True cysts are small remnants of the allantois, whereas false cysts originate from liquefaction of Wharton Jelly. In present case, cyst was diagnosed at birth without any associated congenital anomalies and resolved spontaneously within a few days requiring nil surgical intervention. Umbilical cord cysts deserve special attention since 20% of them, regardless of type, are associated with structural or chromosomal anomalies. Because of this, fetal karyotyping and amniocentesis should be considered when cysts persist beyond the first trimester.

Background. Retroperitoneal lymphangioma is a rare, benign mesodermal tumor arising from the retroperitoneal lymphatics which usually presents in infancy and it is worthy to report a case when it has presented in an adult. After a thorough literature search in English we concluded that less than 200 cases of adult retroperitoneal lymphangioma have been reported so far. Apart from being a rare entity it also presents as a diagnostic dilemma and final diagnosis is often made on surgical exploration.Case Presentation. We report a case of retroperitoneal lymphangioma in a 55-year-old male who presented with abdominal distension and dull aching abdominal pain.Conclusion. Retroperitoneal lymphangiomas are rare tumors of infancy but may also present in adults where they are a diagnostic challenge. Differentiating cystic lymphangiomas from other cystic growths by imaging studies alone are often inconclusive and surgery is frequently required for definitive diagnosis and to ameliorate the symptoms.

A 63-year-old female patient was admitted to the hospital for an in-depth diagnosis of accidentally found pancreatic cystic lesion. The lesion was detected by computed tomography scan and magnetic resonance imaging of the abdomen and identified as potentially malignant mucinous cystic neoplasm (MCN). Endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration biopsy with the analysis of the fluid from the cyst was performed as well and it confirmed the malignancy of the cystic lesion. The patient was qualified for surgery and the final diagnosis based on histopathological examination of the surgical material confirmed MCN with the accompanying invasive pancreatic adenocarcinoma.

Six to eight percent of granular cell tumors are seen in the breast. Although mostly benign, they rarely have malignant features clinically and radiologically reminding of breast cancer. This may lead to a potential misdiagnosis of breast carcinoma and overtreatment of patients. The final diagnosis is made by immunohistochemical examination. We performed excisional biopsy on a patient who was diagnosed to have a breast mass. The histopathological examination of the mass revealed granular cell tumor.

F.NA.C has been used for ages as a safe and economical tool for fast preoperative diagnosis of parotid tumors. It has certain pitfall which sometimes leads to misdiagnosis and consequently it may have affect on treatment of the tumors. Keeping in view of the diverse classification of parotid tumors’ information from cytology should be combined with radiology as well as clinical diagnosis. Aim: To discuss some cases where there was discrepancy between cytological diagnosis and histopathological result and also suggest measures to improve the efficacy of F.N.A.C. Material and methods: The study includes 50 cases of parotid tumours who presented to the  department of ENT at Government medical college Haldwani which is a tertiary referral centre during 2009 to 2016. Only adult patients were included and inflammatory swelling were excluded from the study. All patients evaluated  Contrast enhanced computerized tomography(CECT) and  Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) followed by Fine needle aspiration cytology .Preoperative diagnosis was made upon the findings of the above investigations and different types of  parotid surgeries  were done. . Final diagnosis was made on  histopathological  examination. Result :The most common tumour  came out to be pleomorphic adenoma (23 cases-46%) followed by mucoepidermoid carcinoma(12cases-24%). In ten  cases there was no clear cut  association between cytological diagnosis and final histopathological diagnosis. Conclusion: FNAC is highly sensitive and specific technique for diagnosis of many salivary gland swellings. FNAC can be used preoperatively to avoid unnecessary surgery and biopsy. Details of clinical information and radiologic features may help the pathologist to arrive at the appropriate diagnosis and reduce false interpretation. Pitfalls may also occur with improper technique of FNAC which can be overcome by proper caution.

Retroperitoneal space is called sometimes no mans landand for a good reason: this is disputed anatomical territory for many surgical and medical specialties. Their wide histological diversity and unspecific clinical presentation make them a challenge for the surgeon. In order to improve their detection immunohistochemistry seems to show promising results. Methods of detection have evolved over time to identify as much as possible the histological type of tumor. Because of this extreme variability immunohistochemistry through its various markers is the one that often sets the definitive diagnosis, the simple histopathological examination being insufficient. This paper aims to highlight the main markers used in retroperitoneal tumors. As it can be seen there is a huge histologic areal for these tumors. Some have proven some of them still not. Given the fact that there is a tendency toward personalized therapy it is imperative to identify the histological type of tumor as soon as possible.

The finding of a colloid cyst on neuroimaging is often incidental. These lesions are usually located at the foramen of Monro, are hyperdense on CT scans, and generally demonstrate signal intensity of water on MR images, although this depends on their content. When symptomatic, they frequently present with headaches and nausea due to an obstructive hydrocephalus. The authors describe a case of a giant colloid cyst in a patient presenting with complete left-sided vision loss and progressive memory loss, two very atypical findings in colloid cyst presentation. Imaging findings were also atypical, and this case proved to be a diagnostic dilemma because of its clinical and radiological presentation. Histopathological investigation was of utmost importance in the final diagnosis of a colloid cyst. To the authors' knowledge this colloid cyst is larger than any other described in the literature.

Concordance analysis using Cohen's Kappa index (􏰀􏰀) has been widely used in clinical research to determine the degree of agreement between two measurements made by the same observer (intra-observer agreement) or between the measurements of two observers on the same variable (inter- observer agreement). In this work, we used 􏰀􏰀 to determine the degree of inter-observer agreement between the reason for consultation and the final diagnosis issued by an interdisciplinary team of The Mexican Institute of Hearing and Language (IMAL). The institute receives around ten pediatric patients per month; the reasons for consulting these patients are diverse. In this research, 53 pediatric patients completed their studies in the IMAL and received a final diagnostic. A research assistant manually collected the data from the medical records of the IMAL Medical Direction. For example, 1) reason for consultation, 2) studies carried out, 3) recommendations, and 4) the final diagnosis. The global concordance between consultation and the definitive diagnosis was 􏰀􏰀 = 0.44 (moderate concordance). Although a Health Professional suggested the reason for consultation, it only covers a clinical aspect. Therefore, we think that the moderate concordance obtained is since an interdisciplinary medical group issues the final diagnostic, achieving a complete diagnosis; this allows the adequate medical care and rehabilitation of the pediatric patient.

B-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma which is a type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma is rather uncommon in children. Focal changes in bones in the course of non-Hodgkin lymphoma are mostly secondary changes and their primal location in a bone is rare. PBL (primary bone lymphoma) mainly concerns a thighbone and a tibial bone; the primary location in jaw bones is quite sporadic. In diagnostics, there is mainly magnetic resonance, medical scan (tomography), and above all – histopathological test. There is also chemotherapy by choice, and primary location in a jaw or a mandible significantly advances the prognosis. The aim of the work is to introduce a patient who was definitively diagnosed B-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma from the early B-cells. The girl reported to Laryngological Clinic, Dental Surgery Clinic for Children, Oncological Clinic of Children’s Memorial Health Institute. The cause of the visit was an elevation on the right side of a nose base, present for two months and misdiagnosed by doctors as a post-traumatic swelling in this region. After introducing laboratory and scan diagnostics and taking biopsy from the lesion, a final conclusion was made. Also, a proper treatment according to the protocol for B-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma was introduced. Non-specific B-cell lymphoma picture, as mentioned in the described case, specifically due to location in a jaw bone and a slow pace of growing, may both constitute huge diagnostic problems and deteriorate prognosis. Therefore, it is important to take into account also lymphoma – in such location of a lesion. Moreover, it is worth remembering that the final diagnosis may only be passed on the basis of histopathological examination.
