The need factor-based to the theory of Andersen and Newman (2005) is seen from 2 aspects, which include the individual assessment aspect (perceived need factor) and the clinical aspect (evaluated need). There is still no publication of review research that discusses specific analyzes of subjective assessment of the needs of the elderly on the use of services in health facilities at Puskesmas and Posyandu. The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between the influence of perceived need factors on the utilization of health services for the elderly at the Puskesmas and Posyandu. This study is a qualitative study with a literature review using quantitative and mixed methods analysis which are published from 2016 to 2021. The collection of literature using the Scopus, Science Direct, PubMed, and Google Scholar databases. The search results obtained 60 articles that matched the keywords and then the overall identification was carried out using inclusion and exclusion criteria in the content of the article so that 12 articles were reviewed. The results showed which variable of perceived need factor that most commonly found to be related to the utilization of elderly health care services at Puskesmas and Posyandu was the chronic condition variable (n = 4 articles), followed by the self-rated health, subjective health complaint, perception for benefit matter and limitation in daily activities variable, each of them are (n=2 articles). Further studies are needed to develop an appropriate instrument in assessing the factors of the needs of the elderly in full, namely the factors of the needs of the elderly which are seen from the clinical aspect of the utilization of health services at the Puskesmas and Posyandu.

AbstractMutations in ANO3 have recently been identified as an autosomal dominant cause of dystonia (dystonia-24). Since then, the phenotypic spectrum has also been extended in children. Here, we reported a case of a 10-year-old Turkish girl child patient with a novel variant (NM_001313726: c.221dupA, p.Tyr74*), who exhibited tremor with mild dystonia. This report expands the phenotype caused by ANO3 variants and reveals an essential clinical aspect for patients and medical staff.

Objective: This study analyzed the prevalence and clinic-pathological features of soft-tissue sarcomas diagnosed in a single-center of oral pathology from a School of Dentistry in Brazil. Materials and methods: All consecutive cases of intra-oral soft-tissue sarcomas diagnosed between January of 2002 and December of 2018 were retrieved from the files; patient data (sex, age and race) and characteristics of the lesions (site, size, clinical aspect and duration of injury) were collected. Results: Among a total of 62,255 biopsies diagnosed in the studied period, soft-tissue oral sarcomas comprised 76 cases (0.12%). Kaposi sarcoma, rhabdomyosarcoma, leiomyosarcoma encompassed 64.5% of the cases, and 53% of these were diagnosed as Kaposi Sarcoma. Male patients were more affected (59.2%) and white patients comprised 50%. In general, 39.4% of the patients were between 21-40yo. Conclusion: Soft-tissue sarcomas are rare in oral soft-tissue and in our pathology service, they comprised only 0.12% of all diseases diagnosed in the studied period. Kaposi sarcoma was the most frequent, followed by leiomyosarcoma and rhabdomyosarcoma. Thus, it is important for stomatologists and pathologists to be aware of their characteristics when examining oral mucosa, mainly their peculiarities regarding patient’s age, clinical appearance, and site of occurrence.

This study aimed to identify gastrointestinal parasites in camels (Camelus dromaderius) in the Laghouat region (southern Algeria). The study was carried out over a 5-month period on a total of 100 dromedaries. Dung samples were analysed using different methods such as flotation, sedimentation, and Ziehel-Neelsen staining for research of the cryptosporidiosis. Data showed an overall infestation rate of 78%, with the presence of the following parasites: Cryptosporidium sp. (60%), Nematodes: Nematodirussp (23%), Strongyloides sp. (4%), Marshallagia sp. (2%), and Cooperiasp (3%), different protozoaires: Eimeria sp. (20%), Neobalantidium sp. (2%), and Balantidium coli, cestodes (6%), Moniezia sp. (3%), Multicips sp. (2%), Diphillobothrium sp. (1%), and trematodes: Fasciola hépatica (4%) and Paramphistomum sp (1%). The results showed a significant influence of study site on the parasitic infestation rate (P=0.039). Other factors (sex, age and clinical aspect) had no significant influence. To conclude, gastrointestinal parasites are a major problem of indigenous camels under traditional husbandry. Therefore, parasite control programmes are recommended to increase the productivity of this useful animal.

A 5-year-old caucasian boy, born of non-consanguineous parents, was referred to the dermatology department due to palmar hiperlinearity and multiple 2-3 mm hyperkeratotic circular lesions in the soles (Fig. 1). The remaining physical examination was unremarkable. There was a family history of palmoplantar hyperkeratosis in the mother and maternal grandfather. To spare the child, a punch skin biopsy was taken from his mother. Pathology revealed an epidermis with irregular acanthosis and orthokeratotic hyperkeratosis, without other morphologic alterations (Fig. 2). Clinical aspect of the lesions associated with a positive family history and histologic findings allowed the diagnosis of punctate palmoplantar keratoderma. Satisfactory results were achieved with urea 20% cream and emollient applied to the soles. [...]

From the perspective of theoretical analysis, based on the annotation of ancient doctors on the theory of “acting according to time,” this article puts forward the view of “time”; that is, the impact of the social environment on the occurrence and development of diseases. In addition, it points out that the characteristics of modern diseases are of “multiple heat syndromes and multiple repletion pattern.” Based on this characteristic, the use of heat-clearing drugs in the clinical stage would have a good effect. It has been suggested that contemporary doctors should not only inherit the theories from predecessors, but also think diligently and innovate bravely along with the current environment in order to ensure that the theories of TCM are constantly full of vitality to better serve the clinical aspect.
