The new composite materials based on dianhydride of tricyclodecentetracarbon acid and oxydianiline with two other thermally stable polymers, such as polycarbonate and polysulphone, are being reported. The synthesis of the polyimide blends was done through two ways: mechanical mixing of two homopolymer  ingredients; and the so-called chemical mixing of polyimide comonomers with the above-mentioned polymers. The physico-chemical and physico-mechanical properties have been manifested in a broadening of their performance characteristics. It was not found any physical-chemical interactions between the two ingredients of the blend, which indicates the formation of a typical compatible polymer blend with an appropriate miscibility. Such new polyimide composite could be an ideal candidate for the preparation of reflective and conductive metallized polyimide blend films with wide mechanical performances.

A brief review of the results of studies on reducing the combustibility of composite materials based on unsaturated polyester resins is presented. A flame retardant orthophthalic unsaturated resin based on a complex flame retardant was developed and studied. It is shown that the category for resistance to burning of the resin is achieved with 15–20% filling of the complex flame retardant based on ammonium polyphosphate, melamine and pentaerythritol. The kinetics of curing and physical and mechanical properties of the composite material are evaluated.

A technology for the production of sulfur composite materials based on waste from BaCl2 at Karpov Mendeleyevsk Plant (Russia) was developed. The physical chemical and quantum chemical studies were performed for the “sulfur – sulfide containing industrial waste–filler” system. The usage of sulfide ion CaS enables sulfur activation to promote the chemical interaction between the components and synthesis of sulfides and sulfur materials with high physical mechanical properties from them.

The current study deals with the investigation on the properties of lignocellulose fibre from the stem of Musa paradisiaca L. The Musa paradisiaca L. fibres were extracted from its pseudo stem by mechanical process. The extracted fibres were treated with five different concentrations of NaOH and two different fungal cultures (Aspergillus niger and Aspergillus cereus). The treated fibres were analysed for physical, chemical and mechanical properties as per standard procedure with raw banana fibre. From the chemical investigation, lignin content of the Raw Banana fibre (15.98%) was decreased in the fibre treated with 25% of NaOH (13.56%), Aspergillus niger (11.40%) and Aspergillus cereus (12.54%). Mechanical properties of treated fibre were shows progressive results in comparison with raw banana fibre. In conclusion, the investigation proved that banana fibre treatment with the NaOH and Aspergillus spp has a significant effect on the physiochemical properties

In the presented work the choice of starch syrup for the jelly products production has been substantiated. It was based on the analysis of the starch syrup carbohydrate profiles and recipes of jelly products. The influence of syrup on the rheological and structural-mechanical properties of jelly and aerated masses for a two-layer jelly has been determined. The expediency of polydextrose usage has been demonstrated. Its adding leads to the regulation of the jelly structure and foam layer for the samples with more than 50% of sugar replaced by starch syrup. Depending on the ratio of carbohydrates in jelly it was determined the amount of polydextrose adding of which provides the required firming and prebiotic properties of finish products. The change of physical-chemical, structural-mechanical, and organoleptic quality indices of two-layer jelly with modified carbohydrate composition has been investigated during storage.

A study review of aging polymer composite materials (PCM) under different heat-moisture conditions or water exposure with the sequential or parallel influence of static or cyclic loads in laboratory conditions is presented. The influence of tension and bending loads is compared. Conditions of the different load influence on parameters of carbon-reinforced plastics and glass-reinforced plastics are discussed. Equipment and units for climatic tests of PCM under loading are described. Simulation examples of indices of mechanical properties of PCM under the influence of environment and loads are shown.
