The article deals with the role-playing method allowing to include foreign language learning in the model of the future work of medical students. Role-playing related to the doctor’s professional activities raises interest in learning foreign languages, increases personal importance, brings learning process to the real communication.

The article is devoted to the problem of socialization of an individual in the process of foreign language learning, which is a part of multicultural education and is considered as an important tool for a person's adaptation in a multicultural society. The leading idea of the article is the assertion that foreign language as a discipline has a huge socializing potential, as in the process of a foreign language learning, not only the active development of natural resources, abilities, initiative, independence, take place, but also, assimilation of generally accepted in a society socio- cultural rules and moral norms, which plays a crucial role in the process of socialization is activated. Since the main goal of the educational process in foreign languages is the formation of the very communicative skills, its contribution to the process of socialization of a man is indisputable. In this sense, the following characteristics of the learning process in a foreign language are important: the focus on communication, respect for the identity and culture of other peoples, the focus on social activities, the acquisition of social experience in solving life and social problems, and the creation of its own system of life priorities. The communicative method of teaching foreign languages is based on the fact that the learning process is a model of communication. The learning process in foreign languages is based on the linguistic partnership, creative collaboration, constant motivation of communication, based on a combination of such interconnected factors as activity, creativity, autonomy, individualization, which contribute to the intensification of cognitive and educational processes. That is, organization of training in the form of communication is the main methodological task of a modern teacher of foreign languages. It is this specificity of the discipline "foreign language" that is capable of effective implementing educational socialization, helping to complete the formation of the students' ability to communicate, co- exist and cooperate in the professional activities of people of different ethnic groups, the formation of a rich experience of social and cultural communication, which is a solid base for the involvement of learners to the global values of civilization.

The objective of this chapter is to gain a better understanding of the usefulness of massive multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPGs) for promoting English as a foreign language (EFL) acquisition. To accomplish this goal, the author analyzed specific categories of interaction occurring between English language learners while playing an online game entitled Eve Online. Previous research has proved that there are positive outcomes on EFL acquisition from the interaction that takes place while playing video games known as MMORPGs. These games immerse players in virtual worlds that are inhabited by hundreds and even thousands of other players, and all are partaking in the game in real time. Learners who choose to play the game in a foreign language are exposed to target language input in a context-rich environment where they can interact with native-speakers and other language learners.

This chapter provides an overview of the potential of massively multiplayer role-playing games (MMORPGs) for foreign language education and discusses how MMORPGs can be better designed to support foreign language education. It reviews current conceptualizations on ideal language learning environments, discusses the potential of MMORPGs for foreign language education, and elaborates on how to design MMORPGs to facilitate foreign language learning. The authors hope that this discussion will help foreign language educators realize and capitalize on the values of MMORPGs in foreign language education, and will guide the design of MMORPGs for foreign language learning.

The study conducted a questionnaire survey of university students, the purpose of which was to determine how students do their independent work while learning a foreign language and to reveal the difficulties in this process .The whole learning process of a structured in such a way as to arouse students' interest in those materials on the language that carry important and new information, in order to constantly maintain the desire to learn the language at home, so that students can see this need. Only in this case the study can have a positive effect on the development of such student qualities, purposefulness, organization, and perseverance.  A brief analysis of students' answers about difficulties in independent work while learning foreign languages, the investigation emphasize that for the organization of the foreign language learning process, it is important to investigate not only the issues of the teacher’s work, questions of teaching methods, but also questions of organizing student’s work, namely, questions of studying and mastering skills in foreign languages.

The article considers the role of foreign language, foreign language learning to students of non-linguistic spe-cialties is valuable for specialist development. Teaching of foreign language in non-linguistic universities has particular relevance, since foreign language communication in the professional activities of modern special-ists is characterized by increasing importance in the context of globalization and providing for the formation of students' ability to speak foreign languages in specific professional, business, scientific fields and situa-tions taking into account the features of professional thinking. Despite the development of the educational process organization, the difficulty of learning is that mastering a foreign language occurs outside the lan-guage environment with a limited number of hours. In the classroom, the task of developing students' speech skills is solved by performing a large number of language and speech exercises. In this regard, it should be noted the importance of extracurricular activities in a foreign language, which is particular relevance in achieving the subject, interdisciplinary and personal results of education. The problem of communicative skills formation of non-linguistic specialties’ students is one of the urgent problems, since graduates must have not only professional, but also experience of social, socio — cultural relations, who are able to show not only knowledge in a certain area, but also social initiative, develop performance in a team work. Teaching foreign languages for students of non-linguistic specialties has a professional-oriented basis. The students of non-linguistic specialties have a professionally-oriented basis for teaching of foreign languages, and the role of digital technologies should be noted too, what are widely used during the classes.

Language is a means of human cognitive activity. The knowledge of the natural process of the acquisition of each language, namely of a foreign one, is highly necessary in language learning process. The record of the characteristics of child language development acquires much significance in this regard. Evidently, each child is unique. However, the sequence of the development stages of native and foreign languages is almost the same and quite predictable, while the psycholinguistic investigation of a foreign language learning among grown-ups demonstrates evident differences. The acquisition of a foreign language differs not only in the content of the material studied, but also in the new linguistic nature of the coordination of the knowledge.

Abstract Due to the rapid developments in educational technology, today’s professors are in search of exploring innovative techniques in order to promote involvement of students in the learning process in general and in the foreign language learning process in particular. This is why today’s students are seen as digital-natives and being motivated for the learning process is very difficult if the modern technology they are familiar with is not utilized effectively in the classroom. When it comes to the assessment part of this process, the situation may become worse, as most of the students feel unwilling due to anxiety problems in general and foreign language anxiety in particular. This study presents an innovative way of assessing students’ skills that they gain during foreign language learning process introducing Edmodo, which is an educational social network that provides a secure learning platform for students and educators. This study is a descriptive one, based on the analyses, surveys, and opinions of different researchers that have implemented this platform in their teaching process. The main objective is to introduce the implementation of various assessment applications through Edmodo.

The article tackles the problem of teaching foreign languages to seniors. The general trends in FL education for the third-age learners are outlined. The institutions in which seniors can study foreign languages in Poland are enumerated. The psychological, physiological, methodological and social peculiarities of teaching a foreign language to the third agers are analyzed. Special emphasis is laid upon educational needs of the Third Age learners. Some language learning strategies which help seniors’ foreign language learning are suggested.
