This article discusses the methodology of analysis and forecasting of complex spatial systems, taking into account a lot of economic, social and cultural relationships that determine the specifics of the individual territories’ development. Particular attention is paid to the formation of specific zones on the basis of urban settlements along the path of transport corridors. In this regard, the authors introduce the concept of ”urban renewal centers” and give a definition. For its disclosure, the methodological part provides a list of related concepts, defines their boundaries and relationships, and also reveals the essence of the definitions of ‘transport corridor’ and ‘zone of transport corridor’. The authors proposed the use of vector estimates for the analysis of heterogeneous spatial systems of extended information volumes with the inclusion of sociological data and problem-oriented adaptation of visualization and processing of graphic data. As a result of a new, more detailed statement of the problem, we can go on to assess the prospects for the development of space for the complex and heterogeneous macro-regional and transboundary transport corridor Ural — Northern Kazakhstan. The study has fixed that development of urban renewal centers acts as a driver for the development of social and cultural spheres, as well as general economic conditions. The social and cultural transformation of urban settlements over time begins to determine their economic development potential. Such settlements are becoming centers of gravity in the labor market with many far-reaching development scenarios. Keywords: regional development, urban settlements, urban renewal, transport corridor, visualization

Sustainable development is one of the biggest challenges for the future of our cities. With this in mind, eco-districts are essentially designed to respond to four challenges that place emphasis mainly on complexity and resilience by acting on aspects such as urban green spaces, mobility, energy, water management and waste management. In this study, the focus is on the concept of mixitè, from both a functional and social perspective, which is seen as a tool to increase the sustainability of urban settlements and bring benefits to the social, environmental and economic system. Despite the growing interest of research into the impacts of an urban land-use mix, there have been few methodological analyses on how to measure the functional mix in an urban environment. Therefore, the goal of this study is to define one or more indicators that are able to represent the diversity of the soil through their application to different areas. It is therefore possible to define a tool that helps to design, evaluate and support decision makers in urban planning choices. Indeed, it is important to understand how the soil mix, and subsequently the social mix, affects sustainability and how planners can take it into account in planning and developing urban policies. In this document: (a) we will highlight the theories and concepts underlying both functional and social mixitè; (b) the benefits it brings both to the city and to the individual; (c) a review of the main methods of measurement of the mixitè; (d) application and a subsequent comparison of the methods identified in case studies represented by three areas related to the establishment of the University of Salerno, in Italy, consisting of its two campuses as well as an adjacent site. The results obtained show that some of the indicators analyzed are more effective at representing the phenomenon of mixitè than others. Therefore, widening research, especially for those concerning the social mixitè, is advisable. Despite this, the results show that proper planning and management of urban devices bring about a series of advantages by increasing the sustainability and urban efficiency of settlements.

Objective - This research aims to analyze the impact of residential relocation to the change in social and economic conditions of the beneficiary. This change is then used to analyze whether it is related to the decision for selling, or putting out to lease, the relocation house. Methodology/Technique - Primary data is collected from 68 samples which are chosen by an area sampling method. The focus of the sample is on houses which are built between 2008 and 2010. The variables applied cover perception about the state of the relocation house, perceptions of change in social and economic conditions, perceptions of housing characteristics and perceptions of the existence of another residential house. This research uses a mixed method for analyzing and interpreting the results. A binary response model is used for quantitative analysis. Findings - The results shows that there is no significant change in the social and economic conditions of the beneficiary. The logistics model indicates there is no direct correlation between perceptions of the change in social economic conditions to the decision for selling or renting a relocation house. Novelty - The study looks at decisions for selling or renting s relocation house. Type of Paper - Empirical Keywords: Relocation; Speculative Motive on Housing; Binary Respond Model.

Abstract This article1 compares and contrasts the practices of preaching between Christ Embassy and nasfat in the city of Abuja. The preaching of the two groups responds to the social situation of Abuja, which includes hard economic conditions and religious pluralism. The article analyses the preaching styles in Christ Embassy and nasfat within the framework of performance theory. It argues that preaching is an important instrument for empowering urban residents with the necessary mental resources for meeting the challenges of the urban environment. Moreover, the article argues that preaching is a practice of mediation that is facilitated by aspects such as stage design, dress, background music, eloquence, and preaching assistants. In Christ Embassy, one of the purposes of preaching is a total transformation of the individual mindset and the cultivation of new norms and values. Preaching in nasfat has the purpose of producing modern and pious Muslims who can live comfortably in pluralistic urban settings and project a positive image of Islam.

Apostar na hibridização destes instrumentos com outras inovações faz parte do “caminho dialético” de transformação cultural de um país onde a efetivação da função social da propriedade passa, sobretudo, pelo poder judiciário e as autoridades locais, alternando momentos de preocupações com o aumento dos problemas socioeconômicos, e outros (prevalentes) marcados por uma renovada atenção às liberdades individuais dos cidadãos.-----------------Summary:Focused on the Italian context, the article deals with an essential element of the Right to the City, guaranteed by the 1948 Constitution: the principle of the social function of property. Thus, it analyses which planning instruments have become central in its implementation, and which direction they are following, in the doctrine as in the experiments of urban planning. Methodologically, it explores doctrine and jurisprudence, from a historical-sociological perspective which intends to read the complex and contradictory trajectory of the topic within the scope of political transformations marked by more or less successful attempts to combine the private dimension of property with its public one. The analysis shows that a balance between these two dimensions was not achieved in the legislation. Thus, their tension permeates the ambiguities of the two main tools (equalization and simplified expropriation) which are most used today in a framework that wants to overcome the contradictions of a zoning-based planning approach and the use of expropriation for purposes of public utility. Betting on the hybridization of these instruments with other innovations is part of the “dialectic path” of cultural transformation in a country where the realization of the social function of property passes, above all, through the judiciary and local authorities, alternating moments of concern with the increase in socioeconomic problems, and others (which look prevalent) marked by renewed attention to the individual liberties.

The features of formation of the contract relations and process of their modeling between the main recipients groups of agents of the market are studied in the article. The contracting process is considered, which provides description of the configuration of groups of agents that are determinants, recipients and beneficiaries to the market. On the basis of this, the conflict of interests is described and the risks of opportunism are assessed from the individual groups of agents, from what the perfection/efficiency of the market depends objectively. The essence of the conflict can be presented through the matrix which provides a ratio of traditionally economic and social-and-ecological priorities. The conflict at the same time is associated with a set of alternative scenarios when more attention at the expense of others is paid to one group of priorities. The matrix of positioning the market development scenarios according to the ratio of priorities «economic efficiency – the social-and-ecological effectiveness» makes it possible to present a criterion of perfection of the representative market when the state of «imperfection» is associated with low economic and socio-ecological effects, while «perfection» – with high level where they are achieved not at the expense of each other, but due to the effect of the mutually agreed balance. In such ratio of matrix sectors desirable and undesirable scenarios of the development and then the market types are are distinguished clearly. Risk analysis of opportunism of recipients of the market on the 3-dimensional scale for the main groups of agents (consumers, power, business, public institutes) is carried out that allowed to draw a conclusion that the opportunism is characteristic primarily for the regulator, to a lesser extent – for business, and to the least – for consumers and public institutes. The offered typing of contracts makes allows to model conditions of the market dynamics where the types of contracts are based on the basic theories of contracts. The study found that the most suitable for market relations and functioning of the market institution can be generally defined model of a conditionally perfect contract of favorable choice, the content of which, in all canonical constituents, corresponds to the principles of the ideology of economic liberalism, which means the obligation to have a set of certain functions in such a typical contract and norms.

Three personal reflections provided by doctoral students of the Michigan School of Professional Psychology (Farmington Hills, Michigan) address identification of individual perspectives on the tragic events surrounding Trayvon Martin’s death. The historical ramifications of a culture-in-context and the way civil rights, racism, and community traumatization play a role in the social construction of criminals are explored. A justice orientation is applied to both the community and the individual via internal reflection about the unique individual and collective roles social justice plays in the outcome of these events. Finally, the personal and professional responses of a practitioner who is also a mother of minority young men brings to light the need to educate against stereotypes, assist a community to heal, and simultaneously manage the direct effects of such events on youth in society. In all three essays, common themes of community and growth are addressed from varying viewpoints. As worlds collided, a historical division has given rise to a present unity geared toward breaking the cycle of violence and trauma. The authors plead that if there is no other service in the name of this tragedy, let it at least contribute to the actualization of a society toward growth and healing.

This volume provides the first comprehensive overview of the extant Greek and Latin letter collections of late antiquity (ca. 300-600 C.E.). Bringing together an international team of historians, classicists, and scholars of religion, it illustrates how letter collections advertised an image of the letter writer and introduces the social and textual histories of each collection. Nearly every chapter focuses on the letter collection of a different late ancient author—from the famous (or even infamous) to the obscure—and investigates its particular issues of content, arrangement, and publication context. On the whole, the volume reveals how late antique letter collections operated as a discrete literary genre with its own conventions, transmission processes, and self-presentational agendas while offering new approaches to interpret both larger letter collections and the individual letters contained within them. Each chapter contributes to a broad argument that scholars should read letter collections as they do representatives of other late antique literary genres, as single texts made up of individual components, with larger thematic and literary characteristics that are as important as those of their component parts.
