Business environment and strategy faces continuous completion and impacts the business sustainability in a long-term. In a view, the business must realize the dynamic capabilities and must apply the right company strategy to survive in the global competition and achieving the desired targets. Many philosophers consider ethics to be the `science of conduct'. Philosophers have been discussing ethics for ages now, since the time of Socrates and Plato. Many ethicists consider emerging ethical beliefs to be "state of the art" legal matters, i.e., what becomes an ethical guideline today is often translated to a law, regulation or rule tomorrow. Values which guide how we ought to behave are considered as moral values, e.g., values such as respect, honesty, fairness and responsibility. The paper examines the concepts of strategy and business ethics undertaken  to improve the overall business performance.

The co-operative plays an important role in Indonesia’s economic development since it can improve people’s welfare and support SMEs through its unique character, which is a combination of the economic and social character. As an enterprise, co-operative is not immune to environmental changes. Therefore co-operative must be able to compete with other industries to reach the best performance in globalization era. The capability to cope with environmental pressure is known as dynamic capability. Research on the implementation of dynamic capabilities, however, only focus on conceptual discussions and empirical studies are still limited, especially in co-operatives. This research is proposed to fill the gap by conducting the empirical research, in order to examine the effect of dynamic capabilities for the formation of competitive advantage to achieve co-operatives’ performance in terms of economic and social performances. The result shows that dynamic capability could be implemented in Indonesian credit co-operatives to establish a competitive advantage and ultimately be used to achieve a better firm’s performances. However, dynamic capability cannot be used directly to achieve a better performance. The firms must choose the right and superior capability to compete with their competitors.

Purpose – Developing ambidexterity as a dynamic capability is important for firms to sustain their competitive advantage. Moreover, this capability allows firms to build the resiliency to mitigate enterprise risks. The purpose of this paper is to apply two main theoretical frames from the strategy literature, dynamic capabilities, and organizational ambidexterity, to supply chain management (SCM) to examine mitigation strategies for supply chain (SC) disruptions. The authors empirically investigated how the firm’s SC ambidexterity is developed through a dynamic capability-building process and how this, in turn, can mitigate the negative impact of SC disruptions and improve business performance. Design/methodology/approach – This study conducted a field survey to answer the research questions as there exists no archival database with detailed information on ambidextrous SC strategies and dynamic capability. A total of 316 usable responses were received from managers working in the SC area. Confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling were run on SPSS (version 16.0) and AMOS (version 18.0) to test the hypotheses to answer research questions. Findings – Overall, the results of the study confirmed that a dynamic SC capability-building process is an antecedent of SC ambidexterity, and that SC ambidexterity is important to firms as it mitigate the negative impact of SC disruptions and enhance business performance. To take advantage of an ambidextrous SC, through minimizing the negative impact of SC disruptions and maximizing firm performance, firms should continually search for creative ways to satisfy new market needs and adapt to the fast changing business environment. Originality/value – This study applied a dynamic capability-building process and ambidexterity to SCM. From the resilient SC perspective, the study found that the ability to effectively utilize existing resources and create novel strategies for problem solving plays a critical role in addressing SC disruptions.
