The purpose of this study was to test the hypothesis that the outcome of contemplating death during young adulthood, a change in time attitude, is influenced by present-orientation via the views of death. A total of 199 undergraduates responded to a questionnaire assessing time attitude and present-orientation before and after the assignment to contemplate death. The results of structural equation modeling revealed that present-orientation has a direct effect on the outcome, but the view of death does not have a mediated effect. The results of ANOVA also supported the direct effect of present-orientation. The analysis of the individual description showed that present-orientation has relevance with how to think life after contemplating death. The relationships between contemplating death and young adults’ ego identity which is closely related to time perspective were discussed.

Conditional mediation (CoMe) analysis integrates mediation and moderation analyses to examine and test hypotheses about how mediated relationships vary as a function of context, boundaries, or individual differences. Although CoMe analysis can be a crucial element of empirical studies that seek to advance theory in information systems, applications of such analysis are scarce, in general, and in partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM), in particular. This paper clarifies conceptual fundamentals of and develops guidelines for CoMe analysis within the PLS-SEM context. Furthermore, the paper outlines the illustrative use of CoMe analysis in PLS-SEM and presents detailed step-by-step procedures to do so in the PLS-SEM setting. Overall, this paper provides researchers and practitioners with the required knowledge to properly carry out, report, and interpret CoMe analysis in PLS-SEM.

Background and Objectives:Technology today plays a major role in devising a creative business idea and implementing the same. The process of translating an idea into business depends on the individual who is able to harness his individual potential and self-motivation to bring about a business venture. This paper aims at devising a structural equation model on the individual factors and motivational factors which can bring about a technological business venture. Methods: A conceptual framework has been prepared and tested with a structural equation model. The study was conducted with primary data collected from 100 techno entrepreneurs in the city of Chennai and Bangalore using a structured questionnaire. Results: Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and structural equation modeling has been used to identify the various motivational and individual factors that facilitateindividuals becoming entrepreneurs taking up businesses which use technology for its growth. Structural equation modeling was used to test the hypothesis. Conclusions:The findings highlight the individual and motivational the factors create a spur that sets a tone to play a vital role in establishing a enterprise that is technology driven.

The performance of a company will be known from the activity of its employees in supporting the success of the company's goals. The level of performance can be influenced by the emotional and spiritual intelligence possessed by the individual. Some professions have work hours that are not stagnant. The existence of busy seasons can make individuals experience ego depletion which can ultimately affect performance. This study was conducted to examine the effect of emotional and spiritual intelligence on ego depletion, examine the effect of emotional and spiritual intelligence on consultant performance, examine the effect of ego depletion on tax consultant performance and examine the effect of emotional and spiritual intelligence on consultant performance through ego depletion. The sample in this study were 104 people. The analysis technique uses SEM structural equation modeling. The results of this study indicate that emotional and spiritual intelligence have an effect on ego depletion. Emotional and spiritual intelligence affect the performance of tax consultants. Ego depletion affects the performance of tax consultants. Emotional and spiritual intelligence affect the performance of tax consultants through ego depletion.

Purpose Despite merely comparing constructs on male vs female, this study aims to explore how customer usage behavior to loyalty journey is generated by both service providers and the individual factors. Design/methodology/approach The authors survey 516 m-banking customers and test the hypotheses using partial least squares structural equation modeling. Structural equation modeling analysis was used because of its capability to handle several exogenous and endogenous variables. All variables were adapted from established constructs in information systems literature. Findings The results show different routes of loyalty between male vs female. Males emphasize system and information qualities to shape expectancies as well as facilitating conditions that in turn affect males’ loyalty. While in females, service quality plays a big role in shaping their satisfaction, and in turn affects female customer loyalty. Originality/value The study of gender and technology usage has been growing since decades. With higher technological advancement, people always demand for higher service experience and customer behavior evolves accordingly. Although earlier studies on technology adoption models have received considerable empirical validation, most of the studies did not consider different routes across gender.

The dynamic bipolarity of the positive and negative affective activation, measured with the PANAS scales, was studied using a pre-post design with an intervening experiment. The correlations between (a) the initial positive and negative constructs and (b) the respective change scores were estimated, random and systematic error being removed owing to a convenient structural equation modeling technique. Results demonstrated that a moderate perturbation may induce a medium correlation between latent change scores. Both strict dynamic independence and bipolarity were rejected. This result highlights the importance of individual differences in the way people perceive their affective changes. It is concluded that the PANAS two-factor model of affect provides only an approximate view of the structure and dynamics of mood.

Abstract. The present study empirically tests a bimodal model of humor appreciation. In this model, individual differences in evaluating jokes and cartoons are attributed to their contents (sexual and aggressive) and structures (incongruity-resolution and nonsense). A total of 225 participants (64% women, Mage = 32.37 years) rated 50 jokes and cartoons on funniness, offensiveness, and boringness. They also completed a standard humor appreciation measure (the 3 WD). Using structural equation modeling, the bimodal model was found to be superior to alternative models. Regressions predicting the 3 WD categories supported the convergent and discriminant validity of the content and structure factors. In line with previous research, gender differences were found for the content factors, but not for the structure factors. Overall, this study is the first to show the viability of bimodal models of humor appreciation. They allow capturing the sources of individual differences in humor appreciation more adequately than previous models, thus providing a basis for future theories, research, and applications.
