ABSTRACT            Diabetes Mellitus is one of the most popular degenerative disease in the medical worlds. Every years, the incidence rate of  this disease always shows an increase. In 2010 reported that 1,9  million of 35 years old or more diabetics also suffering the stroke complications. In addition there is an increase of 1.2% every month in people with diabetes mellitus with the incidence of ischemic stroke, so there is a need for preventive action by recognizing risk factors that can be changed. The purpose of this research is to determine the relations between fasting blood sugar levels and lipid profiles in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and ischemic stroke in RSUD R.A Basoeni Mojokerto from January to March 2020. This research using observational method. Research involving 34 sample of 40 years old and above patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and ischemic stroke. Thereseach of the relations between fasting blood sugar levels and lipid profiles from the total respondents (34 patients) shows as follows, The average of the cholesterol total level is 189 mg/dl, and 35% from them (12 respondents) have >200 mg/dl of the cholesterol total level. The average of the cholesterol HDL level is 36 mg/dl, and 65% from them (22 respondents) have <40 mg/dl of the HDL cholesterol level. The average of the LDL cholesterol level is 112 mg/dl, and 24% from them (8 respondents) have >150 mg/dl of the LDL cholesterol level. The average of the triglyceride level is 211 mg/dl, and 47% from them (16 respondents) have >200 mg/dl of the triglyceride level. This shows that there is no correlation between fasting blood sugar level with the cholesterol total level, the cholesterol HDL level, and cholesterol LDL level. However, there is a correlation between fasting blood sugar level and triglyceride level. Keyword : Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, Ischemic Stroke (CVA Infark), Fasting Blood Sugar, Lipid Profile ABSTRAKDiabetes melitus merupakan salah satu penyakit degeneratif yang paling popular dalam dunia kedokteran.

We have investigated twenty five patients with type-2 diabetes mellitus aged (35-60) years and fifteen healthy persons as control group to detect Anti-Helicobacter pylori IgG antibody. All studied groups were carried out to measure fasting blood sugar, anti- Glutamic acid decarboxylase (GAD), anti-? islets cells antibody by IFAT, Anti-H. pylori IgG antibody by ELISA technique. There was significant elevation in the concentration of fasting blood sugar than in control group (P < 0.05), the patients had negative results for anti-GAD antibody and anti- ? islets cells antibody, there were significant differences (P < 0.05) of anti-H. pylori IgG antibody in 28 % of patients had type-2 diabetes than control group. This lead to suggestion that type -2 diabetes mellitus patients are more susceptible to H. pylori .

Pendahuluan. Status prediabetes ditentukan melalui HbA1C berstandar national glycohemoglobin standardization program (NGSP). Aktivitas fisik ditentukan melalui kuisioner global physical activity questionnaire (GPAQ)-versi Bahasa Indonesia. Proporsi prediabetes mencapai 31,5%. Analisis multiavariat menunjukkan hubungan bermakna antara riwayat paternal DMT2 (adjusted OR 7,520; IK 95%=1,071-52,784), lingkar pinggang berisiko (adjusted OR 5,482; IK 95%=1,019-29,504) terhadap status prediabetes.Simpulan. The Role of Paternal History of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus on Prediabetes Status among The Offspring of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Patients Introduction. Since patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) often present with one or more chronic complications, at the time of diagnosis, early detection and prevention is essential to reduce T2DM-associated mortality and morbidity, espescially among high risk population such as the offspring of T2DM. This study aimed to investigate several factors associated with prediabetes status among the offsprings of T2DM patients.Methods. A cross-sectional study was conducted involving 54 offsprings of T2DM patients. Subjects were recruited consecutively. We collected demographic data, anthropometric measurement, blood pressure, and HbA1c level. Physical activity were assessed by using Indonesian version of global physical activity questionnaire (GPAQ). Prediabetes status was investigated by standardized national glycohemoglobin standardization program (NGSP) HbA1c. Bivariate statistical and multivariate analysis was performed by using IBM SPSS 23.Results: The majority of subjects were female (79.6%) and the mean age was 38.8 years old. The proportion of prediabetes was 31.5%. Multivariate analysis showed significant association among paternal history of T2DM (adjusted OR 7.520; 95%CI=1.071-52.784), waist circumference at risk (adjusted OR 5.482; 95%CI=1.019-29.504), and prediabetes status. Conclusion: Paternal history of T2DM and waist circumference were associated with prediabetes status among the offspring of T2DM patients.

Background: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and depressive disorders are among the major health problems in our community. Chronic medical conditions, like diabetes are affectively stressful for patients and may influence pathophysiologic mechanisms as well as mood. This can lead to depression and poor prognosis of T2DM. This study was done to assess the prevalence of depression among T2DM patients and its association with glycemic control. Methods: This descriptive cross sectional study was carried out among 300 T2DM patients attending Urban Health Training Center (UHTC), Anakaputhur, which belongs to the urban field practice area of our institution. Fasting Blood Sugar levels (FBS) were assessed retrospectively from their medical records; and they were screened for depression by administering the nine items, “Patient Health Questionnaire - 9”.Results: Of the 300 T2DM patients, 54% were females. The mean age of the participants was 53±9.7 years. 31% of the study participants had fasting blood sugar (FBS) levels above 125 mg/dl. Depression was present in 39.7% of the individuals, among which, 17.3% had mild depression, 13% had moderate depression, 6.7% had moderately severe depression and 2.7% had severe depression. Depression was found to be significantly associated with increasing fasting blood sugar levels, diabetic complications, female gender and diabetic treatment. Conclusions: This study shows that depression is highly prevalent among T2DM patients and is associated with poor prognosis, as reflected by poor glycemic control (FBS) and the occurrence of diabetic complications. So screening and counselling for depression among T2DM patients have to be carried out for optimum control and treatment of T2DM.
