Newton’s law is a foundamental concept that needs to be studied and understood correctly. Concept presentation in different representation will help the student to understand the concept that being learned. Student’s ability to present Newton’s law in different representation indicate the quality of student’s concept ability. This research aims to describe student’s concept ability of Newton’s laws based on the student’s ability of verbal and visual (pictorial and graphical) problem solving. The method of this research is qualitative with the sample of 71 students of physics education from IKIP PGRI Madiun (14 students) and Sebelas Maret University (57 students). The instrument used in this research were conceptual test and interview. The result showed that more student provide incorrect answer to the physics conceptual problem. Percentage of the incorrect answer for First Newton’s law problem is 69 %, Second Newton’s law problem is 71 %, and Third Newton’s law problem is 76 %. The students do not understand the language of physics correctly, they undergo incorrect physics concept, and so they only understand few physics concept of Newton’s law.

This study aims to identify students' misconceptions on Newton's Law using the Five-Tier Newton's Laws Test (5TNLT) instrument. The process of identifying misconceptions is carried out as one of the first steps to overcome student misconceptions. The method used in this study uses the 4D model (Defining, Designing, Developing, and Disseminating). Participants involved in this study consisted of 327 students (198 female and 129 male), who came from 2 public high schools and 1 private high school in Bandung. Based on the research, it was found that the 5TNLT instrument developed by the researcher could be used to identify misconceptions and causes of students' misconceptions on Newton's Law. All items on the 5TNLT instrument are valid and reliable enough to measure student misconceptions. The highest percentage of misconception categories is shown in the MC-PT (Misconception from personal thoughts) category, which is 50.21%, while the smallest percentage is shown in the MC-I (Misconception from the internet) category, which is 14.82%.

The aim of this study is to investigate the difficulties experienced by students on the concept of Newton’s Law of Motion. The method used is descriptive analysis with a sample of 14 students who take Mechanics Course on Physics Education Study Porgram, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education of Samawa University. The data was collected by essai test. Based on the test result show that (1) students have difficulty in integrating mathematical equation. (2) students was unable to operated integration and differentiation related to trigonometric function. (3) students have not understood the concept of potential in conservative force field.

Research on student creativity at The Study Program of Physics Education FKIP Universitas Mataram for Wave and Optics course was conducted. This study aims to describe student creativity in the creativity of solving problems related to wave and optical matter. Tests were given to 21 students as samples with a test format following the principle of multi-representation on wave and optical questions. This test emphasizes the creativity of students' cognitive thinking which includes fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. The results of cognitive thinking creativity in problem solving creativity showed that 38% were good and 68% were quite. Thus the mapping of the level quality of cognitive thinking creativity the students of Physics Education at FKIP Unram in the odd semester of the 2018/2019 academic year is generally at the level of being quite creative. Keywords: cognitive thinking creativity, multi-representation

Abstract: This study described students mistake on solving newton’s law problems. The subjects were 60 students of high school in 11th grade. This study used survey method with data collection technique was test. Test consisted of 10 items about the description of Newton's law (cronbach alpha 0.638). The results showed that many students mistake on solving problems about 1st Newton’s Law, 2nd Newton’s law, 3rd Newton’s law and concept of friction. Students just rememberred the mathematical equations of Newton's law without understanding the physical meaning. It was advisable to conduct further research as an effort to reduce students' mistakes, one of them is through learning that involves students participating on problem solving and given assistance so that students can do problem solving independently.

One branch of physics is mechanics. Based on interviews to Senior High School teacher in Jember, mechanics is difficult to learn. The eksternals factor this chapter is dificult to learn is learning Resources. The learning Resources are often less contextuall with around the phenomenon of students. The contextuall learning Resources in the Jember Regency is study of kynematics and dynamics in the traffic of Rembangan Tourism. From this experiment, we get data can be used as a learning resources chapter uniform rectilinear motion, decelerated uniform rectilinear motion, accelerated uniform rectilinear motion, Newton’s Law, and circular motion.

Teaching materials by integrating local culture makes easier for students to understand the subject matter in the learning process. The aims of the study is to measure the effectiveness of teaching materials based on local wisdom of agriculture in Binjai in improving the students problem solving abilities. The research method was a quasi experimental which use non equivalent control group in the pretest posttest design. The sample of study were students of Senior High School grade X in Binjai that consisted of experiment group which used teaching materials based on local wisdom of agriculture in Binjai and control group that used student handbooks. Teaching materials are tested by material experts and technology experts to ensure the quality of teaching materials. Data collection was conducted through test. The results showed that the teaching materials based on local wisdom of agriculture in Binjai effective in improving students problem solving abilities in the experimental group students based on the results of N gain value was 0.67 which has medium criteria. It means teaching materials based on agricultural local wisdom of agriculture in Binjai can be used as one of the teaching materials in learning activities.
