Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are diseases in the human muscular tissue system in the back, wrist, knees and shoulders caused by incorrect postur during work activities. This study was conducted to determine the level of risk MSDs on operator work activities at the cast house work station. Activities under study are activities; surface repair tap hole, checking temperature iron, and take iron sample. These activities are carried out repeatedly, incorrect work posture and the presence of heat from work environment factors that affect the whole body. This makes the operator complain of pain in parts of the body at risk of developing musculoskeletal complaints. This study was an observational study using the Rapid Entire Body Assessment method and the Nordic Body Map instrumen. The result of the Nordic Body Map instrumen for 20 operators at the cast house work station showed that there were 21 complaints against operator. Based on the measurement of cast house operators the surface repair activity of tap holes has a “high” risk value for MSDs (REBA Score 9), checking temperature iron activities have a “low” risk value for MSDs. Proposed improvement to prevent is to improve the procedur in the surface repair activities of tap holes, where when the process of sticking the dough is done in front of the tap hole is changed by attaching it to the mud gun nozzle tip. After the proposed improvement, the result of the Nordic Body Map instrumen showed no complaints and the measurement of the tap hole had a “low” risk value for the occurrence of MSDs (REBA Score 3).

Pine resin is one of the non-timber forest products commodity that has excellent prospects. Pine resin harvesting is generally divided into two main activities: tapping and collecting works. Collecting activity that is commonly done under manual technique is classified as manual material handling that can trigger musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). This work posture study offers an overview of MSDs disruption level faced by workers. Therefore, the proper corrective action can be taken. Motion sequences in selected work cycles were captured by using the Kinovea software. Work posture analysis was performed by a combination of the natural range of motion (SAG), Rapid Upper-Limb Assessment (RULA), and Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA). SAG analysis shows that the body’s parts having a high probability of being injured are the back and shoulders. Work posture analysis using RULA and REBA verified that bending or half bending may cause MSDs. The ergonomics risk in these positions might be higher due to the influence of load and repetitive factors. Reducing the posture of bending/half bending, reducing the weight of the resin bucket, and taking a short break/rest in between work activities should be considered as potential strategies in reducing the ergonomics risks that may occur during the resin collection work. Keywords: forestry workers, musculoskeletal disorders, non-timber forest products, oleoresin, natural range of motion

Tiga Hati Mutiara is a food industry located in Sukoharjao, Central Java. One of the activities in the production process is packaging. The posture of the workers in the packing process is to stand and bend over. The position of the worker is very dangerous if it is done repeatedly and continuously. This study aims to identify the posture and ergonomic risks of workers and provide suggestions for improving worker posture. The methods used in this research are the Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) method and the Ovako Work Posture Analysis System (OWAS) method. The results of the research on the packaging process using the REBA method obtained a score of 8, which means that the level of risk is high and needs immediate improvement, while the OWAS method has a score of 4, which means that this attitude is very dangerous for the musculoskeletal system and needs immediate improvement. Improvements made are to improve the position of workers and dimensions of the table. After the improvement, the REBA score was 2 and OWAS was 1, which means that the proposed posture condition is good.

Jaya Launch Pad is a company engaged in educational services. It is undeniable that service sector companies such as Jaya Launch Pad also have a workforce whose work posture may be less ergonomic, which can lead to musculoskeletal disorders. Musculoskeletal disorders can be experienced by people of all ages. Therefore, this study focuses on work posture. This research occurred because of complaints experienced by staff. The number of samples used in this study was 1 person. This was influenced by the Covid-19 pandemic situation so that there was only 1 staff when the observation was made. The research method used was the nordic body map (NBM) to determine which parts of the body are experiencing complaints, and the rapid office strain assessment (ROSA) to measure the risk of injury due to the posture of sitting at a computer for 8 hours. The result is that the complaint assessment using the NBM questionnaire has a score of 52 (needs improvement at a later date) with 4 categories of severe pain, namely back, waist, buttocks, and buttocks. Meanwhile, the score from the ROSA table is 6 which means it is risky / dangerous so that it needs improvement. Therefore, a proposed condition is given in the form of a replacement of work facilities in the form of a work chair with adjustable height and adjustable armrests. This improvement is assumed to be able to reduce the level of staff complaints, and the calculation result of the rapid office strain assessment (ROSA) is 4 which means no risk so that this improvement is accepted and can solve the work posture problem of staff at Jaya Launch Pad.
