The paper aim is to examine urban and spatial possibilities of the Poznań Fort III area in the context of the implementation of the city's spacial policy. Urbanisation based on executing new facilities and investments results in the creation of diverse urban landscape. This contrast concerns not only the visual perception, but also also uneven use of different parts of the city. The aim of the study is to present a strategy for the revitalisation of the Fort Graf Kirchbach in the accordance with the principles of responsible urbanisation.

An ambrotype photographic view of Auckland presents one of the earliest extant photographs of the urban landscape in the city. As a rare example of a landscape presented as a cased image it marks an early scenic view that would be repeated in later technology. Identification and supporting evidence dates the cased photograph to circa 1857. Of the photographers working in Auckland at that time two primary candidates for the creation of this work are discussed, Hartley Webster and John Nicol Crombie with the argument that the former is the most likely. Several other photographic views from 1858 to 1859 are shown as examples of known early landscape photographs of Auckland. One in particular shows a wider view taken from a similar point on Constitution Hill looking across to Mechanics Bay and Parnell.

A workshop aiming to activate the sensory experience of individuals within the urban landscape was introduced to the students of a postgraduate course of architecture. The course seeks to explorecity complexity by mapping the urban phenomena. These readings provide the base for the creation of integral strategic interventions. In the two years it has run, students have shown a preference for analytical tools. This time however, they were asked to perform a series of exercises that sought to increase their body awareness, to help them navigate and read the landscape through their sensory perceptions. The authors of this paper contemplate on the use of mapping methodologies, embodied topography and its relation to the more hidden and imaginary landscapes of the city. They present the reader with a description of the workshop articulation, segments of the student projects and its pedagogical outcomes.KEYWORDS: Mapping methodologies, embodied topography, urban landscape, sensory perception.

Resumo: Este estudo apresenta nossas reflexões sobre a representação da cidade na obra cinematográfica de Wong Kar-Wai. Para nos aproximarmos das relevantes reflexões deste cineasta sobre a paisagem urbana e a inserção do homem em seu seio, achamos importante entender a própria noção de espaço no cinema e trabalhar com as imagens por este diretor criadas a partir de sua potência de gerar percepções sinestésicas e visualidades hápticas. O interesse deste estudo deixa recair seu foco no espaço diégético e nas instâncias narrativas que o funda, no espaço profílmico e extra fílmico e nos mecanismos próprios à linguagem cinematográfica que são capazes de produzir formas específicas de apreensão do espaço. Nos ateremos à criação de visualidades hápticas e de atmosferas fílmicas que serão relevantes para a construção da visualidade das cidades e seus imbricamentos com o destino dos personagens na obra de Wong Kar Wai a partir do ponto de vista da Direção de Arte. Of the solidity of the unfinished affections: the city of Wong Kar Wai Abstract: This study presents our reflections on the representation of the city in Wong Kar-Wai's cinematographic work. In order to approach the relevant reflections of this filmmaker on the urban landscape and the insertion of the man in his bosom, we find it important to understand the very notion of space in the cinema and to work with the images by this director created from his power to generate synesthetic perceptions and haptic visuals. The interest of this study leaves its focus on the diegetic space and the narrative instances that found it, in the profilmic and extra-filmic space and in the mechanisms proper to the cinematographic language that are capable of producing specific forms of space apprehension. Let us focus on the creation of haptic visuals and film atmospheres that will be relevant to the construction of the city's visuality and their entanglements with the fate of the characters in Wong Kar Wai's work from the point of view of the Art Direction. As destination of choice for many short-term study abroad programs, Berlin offers students of German language, culture and history a number of sites richly layered with significance. The complexities of these sites and the competing narratives that surround them are difficult for students to grasp in a condensed period of time. Using approaches from the spatial humanities, this article offers a case study for enhancing student learning through the creation of digital maps and itineraries in a campus-based course for subsequent use during a three-week program in Berlin. In particular, the concept of deep mapping is discussed as a means of augmenting understanding of the city and its history from a narrative across time to a narrative across the physical space of the city. As itineraries, these course-based projects were replicated on site. In moving from the digital environment to the urban landscape, this article concludes by noting meanings uncovered and narratives formed as we moved through the physical space of the city.

Writers of the early nineteenth century sought to find new ways of writing about the urban landscape when first confronted with the phenomena of London. The very nature of London's rapid growth, its unprecedented scale, and its mere difference from any other urban centre throughout the world marked it out as demanding a different register in prose and poetry. The condition of writing the city, of inventing a new writing for a new experience is explored by familiar texts of urban representation such as by Thomas De Quincey and William Wordsworth, as well as through less widely read authors such as Sarah Green, Pierce Egan, and Robert Southey, particularly his fictional Letters from England.

Film Unyil puppet comes not just part of the entertainment world that can be enjoyed by people from the side of the story, music, and dialogue. However, there is more value in it which is a manifestation of the creator that can be absorbed into the charge for the benefit of educating the children of Indonesia to the public at large. The Unyil puppet created by the father of Drs. Suyadi is one of the works that are now widely known by the whole people of Indonesia. The process of creating a puppet Unyil done with simple materials and formation of character especially adapted to the realities of the existing rural region. Through this process, this research leads to the design process is fundamentally educational puppet inspired by the creation of Si Unyil puppet. The difference is the inspiring character created in this study is on the characters that exist in urban life, especially the city of Jakarta. Thus the results of this study are the pattern of how to shape the design of products through the creation of the puppet with the approach of urban culture.

In recent years, with the rapid development of VR technology, its application range gradually involves the field of urban landscape design. VR technology can simulate complex environments, breaking through the limitations of traditional environmental design on large amounts of information processing and rendering of renderings. It can display complex and abstract urban environmental design through visualization. With the support of high-speed information transmission in the 5G era, VR technology can simulate the overall urban landscape design by generating VR panoramas, and it can also bring the experiencer into an immersive and interactive virtual reality world through VR video Experience. Based on this, this article uses the 5G virtual reality method in the new media urban landscape design to conduct research, aiming to provide an urban landscape design method with strong authenticity, good user experience and vividness. This paper studies the urban landscape design method in the new media environment; in addition, how to realize the VR panorama in the 5G environment, and also explores the image design of each node in the city in detail; and uses the park design in the city As an example, the realization process of the entire virtual reality is described in detail. The research in this article shows that the new media urban landscape design method based on 5G virtual reality, specifically to the design of urban roads, water divisions, street landscapes, and people’s living environment, makes the realization of smart cities possible.

The paper investigates the urban landscape changes for the last 50 years in Bucharest, the capital city of Romania. Bucharest shows a complex structural transformation driven by the socialist urban policy, followed by an intensive real-estate market development. Our analysis is based on a diachronic set of high-resolution satellite imagery: declassified CORONA KH-4B from 1968, SPOT-1 from 1989, and multisensor stacked layers from Sentinel-1 SAR together with Sentinel-2MSI from 2018. Three different datasets of land cover/use are extracted for the reference years. Each dataset reveals its own urban structure pattern. The first one illustrates a radiography of the city in the second part of the 20th century, where rural patterns meet the modern ones, while the second one reveals the frame of a city in a full process of transformation with multiple constructions sites, based on the socialist model. The third one presents an image of a cosmopolitan city during an expansion process, with a high degree of landscape heterogeneity. All the datasets are included in a built-up change analysis in order to map and assess the spatial transformations of the city pattern over 5 decades. In order to quantify and map the changes, the Built-up Change Index (BCI) is introduced. The results highlight a particular situation linked to the policy development visions for each decade, with major changes of about 50% for different built-up classes. The GIS analysis illustrates two major landscape transformations: from the old semirural structures with houses surrounded by gardens from 1968, to a compact pattern with large districts of blocks of flats in 1989, and a contemporary city defined by an uncontrolled urban sprawl process in 2018.
