This paper investigate the determinants of microcredit repayment by employing the logistic regression on micro-business households in Pati, Central Java. The result of this study reveals that loan repayment affected significantly by the business lines, food consumption spending, side job, other loan sources, collateral, and credit constrained. Interestingly, the result concludes that the loan repayment are no longer influenced by moral hazard, since the characteristics such as gender, education level, age, experience do not significantly encourage borrowers to repay. Abstract Objectives This study aims to explore the status of Shandong Province, China residents’ health promotion lifestyle and its influencing factors, especially to explore how health attitude affects health promotion lifestyle, thus can make targeted recommendations for health promotion in China and similar areas. Methods 1800 adults were selected from urban and rural areas of Shandong Province, China, using multistage stratified, cluster random sampling method. A survey was conducted face-to-face from March to May, 2018, using Health Promotion Lifestyle Profile and Health Attitude Questionnaire. The between-group measured data were compared by One-way ANOVA or t-tests. The correlation between the health attitude and health promotion lifestyle was examined by Pearson correlation. Logistic regression model was used to examine the related factors influencing health promotion lifestyle. Health promotion lifestyle is the dependent variable, and gender, education level, annual family per capita income and health attitude are the independent variables. Results The mean (SD) of HPLP-IICR total score of the participants was 82.12(16.63). 54.50% of the participants had poor or average health promotion lifestyle, while 45.50% had good or excellent health promotion lifestyle. Significant differences existed in health promotion lifestyle among different gender, education level, income level, marital status, and health attitude (Ps < 0.001). Multivariable Logistic regression model found that male (OR = 0.35, 95% CI: 0.12–0.34), high school education level (OR = 0.57, 95% CI:0.17–0.41), junior middle school & below (OR = 0.42; 95% CI:0.12–0.33), annual family per capita income with < 10,000 CNY (OR = 2.53, 95% CI:1.24–2.06; OR = 2.14, 95% CI:1.08–3.12), low health affection (OR = 0.39, 95% CI:2.15–4.22), and low health behavioral intention (OR = 0.21; 95% CI: 2.33–5.29) were statistically significant correlates of average or poor health promotion lifestyle. Conclusions The health lifestyle needs to be further promoted in Shandong Province, China. The government and social sectors are encouraged to make more efforts to improve the accessibility and quality of health services. Meanwhile, individual responsibility cannot be ignored as well. More affective factors and operable measures should be added to enhance health affection and health behavioral intention, so as to enhance health promotion lifestyle.

B40 income group empowerment is one of the initiatives taken by the Malaysian government to improve the people’s wellbeing. Various policies and program have implemented for the purpose. This study aims to examine students’ awareness and perception on government’s B40 empowerment efforts. Primary data are collected from 596 students from secondary school and higher education to reveal students’ awareness on B40 and their perception on B40 empowerment. Binary logistic regression and ordinal logistic regression are applied to further investigate factors that affecting students’ awareness and perception. Finding shows that majority of respondents were aware on government’s effort while the results of binary logistic regression shows that diploma students were more likely to aware on government effort compared to form 6 students; T20 students were less aware on government’s effort. The finding also shows that less than one-third of the respondents agreed that government’s efforts are effective. The ordinal regression analysis confirms that students’ perception were not affected by gender, education level, study field and income group. The findings of this study provide an overview for government on their B40 empowerment effort. Awareness on the effort should be increased so that more people can benefit from the effort.

Purpose: To improve the loan repayment performance of Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) in Pakistan, this research not only analyses the direct effect of multiple borrowing on loan repayment performance but also determining the indirect impact of multiple borrowing on loan repayment performance through the mediating role of over-indebtedness and moderate role of moral hazard between over-indebtedness and loan repayment performance. Design/methodology/approach: This study is based on a rich dataset comprised of information provided by the employees of MFIs working in Pakistan. The primary data were collected through the structural questionnaire, reliability and validity of construct were established in the light of different techniques including (1) Factor Loading (2) Cronbach’s Alpha (3) Composite Reliability (4) Average Variance Extracted (5) Variance Inflation Factor (6) Fornell-Larcker Criterion and (7) HTMT Ratio. Moreover, structural equation modeling techniques were applied in this study and, hypotheses were tested through bootstrapping by using PLS-SEM. Findings: The results confirm not the only direct impact of multiple borrowing on loan repayment performance and over-indebtedness but also mediating role of over-indebtedness between multiple borrowing and loan repayment performances. Aside from the direct influence of over-indebtedness on loan repayment performance, the moderate role of moral hazard on the association between over-indebtedness and loan payback was also found. Application of the Study: The findings of this study will be communicated with all Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) in the future so that policies may be developed to address the factors that negatively affect the loan repayment performance of Microfinance Institutions (MFIs). Besides this, the outcomes of this study will also enable the MFIs to launch different loaning products that not only fulfill the borrower’s requirements but also ensure the interest of MFIs. Originality/value: Until now, the impact of multiple borrowing on loan repayment performance through mediating role of over-indebtedness and moderating role of moral hazard in the context of Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) of Pakistan have hardly been investigated. This study also enhances the understanding of MFIs regarding multiple borrowing and its subsequent impact on loan repayment performance. Moreover, the findings of this study enable the MFIs of Pakistan to improve their loan repayment performance by formulating the new lending policies in light of the finding of this study with special reference to multiple borrowing.

In running business, the owners of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) have main weaknesses, in which they do not conduct good accounting system or financial records, thus creating difficulties in developing analysis for future business planning. Most of MSME owners run their business by relying on instincts, while business analysis and accounting system are necessary when they apply for bank loan. The aim of this study is to reveal some variables of MSME that become the determinants of their bank loans approval. These variables are: Business Age since Establishment, Total Assets Turnover, Owner’s Total Assets, Credit Duration, Owner’s Education Level, Good Relationship with the Bank, Collateral Amount, and Loan Repayment Criteria. The samples of this study were taken from entrepreneurs selling clothes and apparels in Tanah Abang by conducting direct interview and fulfilling the questionnaire. The questionnaire consists of three major parts, which are business owner’s profile, credit analysis, and evaluation on simple financial report. This study uses logistic regression method, in which there is only one dependant variable with dummy 1-0 (Bank Loan Approval, granted = 1 and rejected = 0) along with eight independent variables. This study concludes that Business Age since Establishment, Total Assets Turnover, Owner’s Education Level, Collateral Amount, and Loan Repayment Criteria, have positive and significant effects on Bank Loan Approval. Meanwhile, Owner’s Total Assets, Credit Duration, and Good Relationship with the Bank do not affect Bank Loan Approval significantly. Keywords: MSME, bank loan approval, logistic regression

The COVID-19 pandemic is the first to occur in an age of hyperconnectivity. This paper presents results from an online anonymous survey conducted in Malay, English, and Chinese, during the first week of the Movement Control Order in Malaysia (n=1075), which aimed to examine public knowledge, perception and communication behavior in the Malaysian society in the face of a sudden outbreak and social distancing measures. Although the level of public knowledge, risk perception and positive communication behavior surrounding COVID-19 was high, a majority of respondents reported receiving a lot of questionable information. Multinomial logistic regression further identified that responses to different items varied significantly across respondent survey language, gender, age, education level and employment status.
