The collaborative work in virtual learning environments becomes more relevant at a time when technology is used intensively. This paper shows the results of research conducted at the Universidad Estatal a Distancia (UNED) in Costa Rica, about students’ perceptions around the concept and implications of collaborative work in two online courses provided by Dirección de Extensión Universitaria (Dirextu). The aim of this study is to establish the difference between collaborative work and group work as well as knowing the tools that can be used to promote this type of activity in virtual learning environments. The methodology used for this article applied a survey to two groups of students, each belonging to two different virtual courses of the Dirección de Extensión Universitaria (Dirextu). This study was based on quantitative research and applied an instrument with open and closed questions. The analysis process of the results was performed with the help of tables and figures (graphs). Finally, the study exposes a series of conclusions and recommendations among which we highlight the following: students do like collaborative activities because they diversify the teaching modes and improve the learning styles.

We live in a time of significant social and cultural, defendants primarily by technological transformations. In particular, in the field of education, new forms and practices have been required to meet this new scenario. This article aims to discuss the possibilities of transmedias narratives to encourage creative processes in Distance Education, from the perspective of dialogical education. The methodological been used to systematize the contributions of authors such as Freire and Henry Baktin and Jenkys. From a reflection on the potential of Virtual Learning Environments as convergence channels, there is a need for adoption of motivational strategies, such as those found in transmedias narratives for the realization of a dialogical education.

Abstract: this article aims to present the results of the research carried out with the objective of analyzing distance education (DE) and the need for a new didactic in virtual learning environments. In bibliographical and documentary research, the focus was on theorists as Peters (2001), Feenberg (2004), Toschi (2005a, 2005b, 2013), among others, and on the legislation governing this modality of teaching. The text concludes with considerations about didactics in DE and the importance of teacher mediation in virtual learning environments and that in teacher formation digital technologies are understood as a mediated action in a didactic perspective that surpasses the instrumental model.

Tutor. Professor.  ABSTRACT: The paper is proposing to discuss the future of the Distance Learning (ODL) in Brazilian college education. It reflects on the particularities of this, the role of teachers, tutors, curriculum and virtual platforms throughout its process. In addition, it also reflects about the students’ role, which should be the main actor on the educational process – but is not always like this. Therefore, we did a literature review on these topics. In conclusion, for a full success on a distance education course, it’s mainly required the effort and dedication of each student, besides the communion of all characters involved.KEYWORDS: Distance Learning (DL). Virtual Learning Environments (EVIDA). Tutor. Teacher.

The theory of experiential learning is briefly reviewed and a model of the learning process is presented. The paper then discusses and characterizes a virtual learning environment and its relationship to experiential learning and learning styles. An approach for designing virtual learning environments is presented taking into account the technology for learning. A prototype for a virtual learning environment designed and built by the author and known as LeProf is then discussed along with its application in the design of an educational site for learning electrical circuits.
