Abstarct The Political Direction of Islamic Education In the 21st century, history has noted that Islamic education in Indonesia has taken root since the entry of Islam into the archipelago, that Islamic education is perfectly upright and perfect is inseparable from the role of the sultans, scholars, and Muslims continues to try to carry out the study of science majors , discussion, writing in the context of jihad fi sabillilah tafaqohu fiddien for the glory of Islam. It is also supported by Islamic political policies that are very beneficial for the interests of the world of Islamic education. Since the destruction of the Caliphate of the Ottoman Turkish Islamic government and the destruction of the Islamic kingdoms in Indonesia and the world. Then the condition of Islamic education experienced ups and downs and the lack of support from the Indonesian government. Therefore, after Indonesia's independence and the increasingly open world of globalization and modernization, it is necessary to look for ideas and ideal forms that are integrally holistic for the world of Islamic education. As well as being able to influence the policies of the Indonesian government and master the political policies of 21st century Islamic education for the future of Indonesian Muslims.

Academia is an environment in which teaching, research, and the pursuit of scholarship are characterized.1 It is routinely described as embodying an atmosphere of isolation, yet is highly competitive. Extreme sacrifices seem to be forefront and centre. Individuals are routinely asked to take on increasingly heavy teaching workloads, while at the same time are expected to produce a significant number of publications, in unison with obtaining external funding. The nature of academia has not always faired well for new scholars. This paper presents a discussion of various strategies new academics or those considering pursuing this arena can use to assist in not only the transition to working in this environment, but also thriving in it. It will provide an awareness of the lessons learned and an anticipation of the future from a scholar who has overcome the initial barriers and is optimistically looking forward to future challenges.

This article wants to show that the transformation of Islamic Education towards the process of Integration of science and religion is relevant and concerned for the future development of Islamic religious education. Agree with post positivism which argues that science is actually a condition with nterests. Science should not only be oriented to science, but it can be used to improve socio-cultural conditions that are unfair and inhuman. Reality as a subjective matter, constructed, interpreted and not found. The human being is a composer of the world, giving meaning to the world, not limited by natural law and having a construct of meaning. Whereas the scientific structure is based  on daily knowledge, inductive, ideographic, interpretation, and not value free. The aim is to interpret the world, understand life, emphasize meaning and understanding. Keywords: Agama, Budaya Saintifik, Pendidikan Integratif, Kurikulum 2013

Much has changed since the Utstein Four burst onto the international scene twenty years ago: a resurgent nationalism and xenophobia are undermining efforts to address global problems. Yet, the world today in many respects is a better place than it was twenty years ago: the share of the global population living in absolute poverty is the lowest in human history; people are better educated and nourished, and live longer and healthier lives. Many challenges remain: while global inequality has declined, within country inequality has increased; women still fare worse than men in practically all aspects of the human condition; and climate change is inexorably marching on, threatening the very existence of humankind. Still, it has been said that a peaceful earth inhabited by about ten billion people without anyone suffering poverty is not a wild fantasy. It is feasible. That is what the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are about. Among the many things the U4 were credited with was their contribution to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals in 2015. The last chapter tries to draw lessons from the U4 experience of twenty years ago that can be useful in addressing the future challenges humanity faces in achieving the SDGs.

This article contains the concept of participatory education that is applied in the world of education so far not been implemented to the fullest. There are still a few things that need to be improved especially in Islamic education. After knowing the problem, the writer tries to solve the problem using John Dewey's theory of progressivism. John Dewey's theory of progressivism when associated with participatory education that both have the same goal. Both when combined will make it easier for students to find experience through self-exploration and find their potential in solving problems that will be faced in the future and have a change (progress) better. In implementing participatory education with John Dewey's theory of progressivism in Islamic education it needs to be filtered back with the values that have been prescribed in Islam. If it is positive, not contradictory and beneficial, it needs to be applied. However, if there are things that are contrary to Islamic values then it does not need to be applied, it is enough to be used as knowledge.
