Abstract: Zakat occupies a significant role in Islamic economics. The role of zakat in the history of Islamic civilization is very real and obvious in eradicating poverty and becoming the foundation of the country's economy. In Indonesia the role of zakat cannot be felt widely. This can be seen from the potential that is still being explored, which is 4% of the existing potential of 217 trillion. One of the main problems that occur in Indonesia is the low competence of amil possessed by zakat management institutions in Indonesia. Amil's low competence makes creativity and innovation in zakat institutions very minimal, as a result the collected zakat funds are not optimally utilized to unravel the threads of poverty in Indonesia. The presence of the Department of Zakat Management and Waqf in Islamic Higher Education in Indonesia is an effort to prepare amil’s who are competent in managing zakat. One of the universities that is currently opening the department is IAIN Tulungagung. This study aims to determine the extent of competence of students majoring in Management of zakat and waqf before they conduct Field Experience Practices (PPL).Abstrak: Zakat menduduki peran yang signifikan dalam ekonomi Islam. Peran zakat dalam sejarah peradaban Islam sangat nyata dan kentara dalam memberantas kemiskinan dan menjadi pondasi ekonomi negara. Di Indonesia peran zakat belum bisa dirasakan manfaatnya secara luas. Hal ini bisa dilihat dari masih jauhnya potensi yang tergali yaitu 4% dari potensi yang ada sebesar 217 triliun. Salah satu problem utama yang terjadi di Indonesia adalah rendahnya kompetensi amil pada lembaga-lembaga pengelola zakat di Indonesia. Rendahnya kompetensi amil membuat kreativitas dan inovasi di lembaga-lembaga zakat sangat minim, akibatnya dana zakat yang terkumpul tidak didayagunakan secara optimal untuk mengurai benang kemiskinan di Indonesia. Hadirnya jurusan Manajemen Zakat dan Wakaf di Perguruan Tinggi Islam di Indonesia adalah upaya untuk mempersiapkan amil-amil yang kompeten dalam mengelola zakat. Salah satu Perguruan Tinggi yang saat ini membuka jurusan tersebut adalah IAIN Tulungagung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana kompetensi mahasiswa jurusan Manajemen zakat dan wakaf sebelum mereka melakukan Praktek Pengalaman Lapangan (PPL).

This study is a study study that analyzes the role of metacognitive strategies with the help of the PQ4R method on academic achievement of PIAUD students at the Sunan Giri Bojonegoro Institute of Islamic Religion. Students in this case are students who follow the learning process in higher education who are required to equip themselves with standardized competencies created with academic achievement, as a provision to take positions and support in an increasingly competitive world of work. Based on the results of data analysis of interviews, observations and questionnaires showed that the use of metacognitive strategies with the help of the PQ4R method had a significant role in student academic achievement in cognitive courses.

Aim/Purpose: Black contributions to higher education are frequently marginalized by some of the field’s most commonly cited historians. The purpose of this conceptual paper is threefold: to demarginalize the role of Black Americans within the higher education history narrative; to demonstrate the need to reconsider the course reading selections used to facilitate learning in this area; and, to emphasize the importance of higher education history as vehicle for understanding current issues across the postsecondary landscape. Background: Sanitized historical accounts often shape Higher Education and Student Affairs students’ learning of the history of American higher education. This is important due to the role historical knowledge plays in understanding current issues across the postsecondary landscape. Methodology: This conceptual paper juxtaposes commonly used higher education history texts against works that center Black higher education history. Elements of Critical Race Theory (CRT) frame this paper and serve as an analytic tool to disrupt master narratives from seminal history of higher education sources. Contribution: This paper contributes to literature on the history of higher education and offers considerations for the implications of course reading selections. Findings: We found that countering the master narratives shows how our contemporary experience has been shaped by colonial processes and how the historical role of Black Americans in higher education is often minimized. Recommendations for Practitioners: Citing how higher education and student affairs instructors’ choices around scholarship have implications for classroom learning and for the future of research and practice, this work recommends diversifying history of higher education course reading selections to help students gain better understanding of the historical impact of white supremacy, systemic oppression, and racism on postsecondary education. Future Research: Further research is needed to understand the impact of course reading selections on HESA student learning and empirically identify frequencies of text usage in history of higher education classrooms

Almost every management institution in India has an ethics course in their curriculum that is focused upon inculcating the value set in an individual. To understand the role of ethical education in accelerating the quality of management education, this chapter provides a discussion of implications of the questions of quality, dilemma, and pedagogy of ethical training. In the introduction, the authors emphasize on the reasons of focusing upon the ethical education, then give a brief history of ethics education in Indian management institutions. In order to show the significance, authors also show the place of ethics course in top 10 business institutions in India. Further, the authors describe the main focus of the chapter that is the contribution of ethics in management education.

This article presents the results of the retrospective study of the childbirth history of 106 pregnant women in whom labor was complicated by premature rupture of the membranes, delivery in the Bukhara regional perinatal center for the period 2017-2019 years. The results show the significant role of premature rupture of the membranes in the development of obstetrics and perinatal complications, especially in women with a history of somatic and gynecological anamnesis

This paper reports on an investigation into the value of the contribution of the higher education institution (HEI) context in developing graduates' enterprise skills. The study was an exploration of where graduates develop enterprise skills, examining the impact of the higher education and employment contexts on the development of these skills. The paper draws on a qualitative study in which interviews were conducted with pharmacy academics and employers. The results show that an ability to demonstrate skills in one context does not necessarily indicate an ability to demonstrate them in another, because the development and demonstration of enterprise skills are influenced by the contexts in which they are developed and demonstrated. The study adds value by highlighting the significant role of both the HE and employment contexts in developing enterprise skills, while emphasizing that these skills become more transferable through exposure to more contexts.

Este artículo describe los resultados de un experimento que involucró la enseñanza y la investigación en la disciplina de Historia de las Matemáticas, impartido por el autor en la Universidad Federal de Triângulo Mineiro (UFTM) desde el comienzo de la oferta del Grado en Matemáticas en esa institución de educación superior. En este sentido, presentamos el formato de las clases y evaluaciones que se realizan para el tema del estudio que originó este artículo. La investigación desarrollada fue del tipo cualitativo, en particular un estudio de caso, ya que la experiencia descrita y explicada se centra en la preocupación por los aspectos de la realidad del aula de una sola situación específica. Los resultados muestran la necesidad de reflexión constante, diálogo y posibles cambios en la didáctica en el aula, ya que los estudiantes, cada día, son diferentes en un mundo globalizado e informatizado. También revelan la necesidad de invitar a los estudiantes a asumir el papel de protagonistas, de modo que las formas de evaluación para cada clase puedan modificarse.Palabras clave: Historia de las matemáticas; Evaluación; Formación inicial de profesores de matemáticas. THE DISCIPLINE HISTORY OF MATHEMATICS AT THE FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF THE MINING TRIANGLE: A BRIEF REPORT AbstractThis article describes the results of an experiment that involved teaching and research in the History of Mathematics discipline, taught by the author at the Federal University of Triângulo Mineiro (UFTM) since the beginning of the offer of the Degree in Mathematics at that institution of higher education. In this sense, we present the format of the classes and assessments that are carried out for the subject of the study that originated this article. The research developed was of the qualitative type, particularly a case study, since the experience described and explained is centered on the concern with aspects of the classroom reality of a single specific situation. The results show the need for constant reflection, dialogue and possible change in the didactics in the classroom, since the students, each day, are different in a globalized and computerized world. A large number of Muslim population in Indonesia is also suitable for a large number of mosques. Mosque in the history of Islamic civilization is a means to perform da’wah and development of economic resources of Muslims. Using descriptive qualitative methods, this study aims to examine how the economic role of the mosque can be improved through community empowerment program in Yogyakarta City, Indonesia. From the result, it may be concluded that mosque has a strategic position to empower congregation. For enhancing the economic role through empowerment, there are at least six steps. Firstly, planning process including agreement among the administrator, looking for fund source, and also looking for the partner. Secondly, socialization to the congregation, opened, closed, or limited. Thirdly, selecting the beneficiaries. Fourthly, the empowering process including lending a soft loan, establish cooperative, or marketing intervention. Fifthly, mentoring both economic and spiritual progress of the beneficiaries. The last process is evaluating the program periodically. The success indicators of this program are the performance of returning loans and the improving intensity of the congregation prayer.

For years, academics and journalists have proclaimed a crisis of gameswork, detailing the ‘destruction’ of the lives of those in this creative workforce, and wondering when the ‘breaking point’ of professional game design, premised on crunch, work limbo, and churn, would come. Still it was only at the March 2018 Game Developers Conference, typically a heavily corporatized event, that a large-scale discussion of unionization was staged, leading to the formation of Game Workers Unite. While collective organizing in games is going global, with branches forming from France to Australia to South Korea, these developments are outpaced by increasingly transnational dynamics of outsourcing and automation, threatening to devalue and even eliminate already highly-competitive jobs in ‘cool industries’ of ‘passionate’ workers. This paper considers these global contradictions and tensions through analysis of a group heavily implicated in visions of the future of gameswork- students in formal games education. While within game studies there has been sustained interest in the production of this form and labour relations therein, the shape and role of games higher education remains underexplored. The existing scholarship indicates that these formal sites of training tend to cultivate the still-largely young, male, and passionate fan-workforce on which games depend. Furthermore, these contexts are vital in the formation of future gamesworker identities that are conservative, uncritical, and risk-adverse, despite pervasive discourses of creativity and innovation linked to them. Vitally, however, the question of how these norms relate to shifting work realities has yet to be explored.
