Disease management is an important step in any crop establishment system. Emergence of field-seeded crops may take several weeks for many species and represents a vulnerable stage of plant growth. This paper considers various biological, chemical, and physical seed treatments for improved seed performance. The role of seed quality and cultural practices in seedling establishment also is reviewed. Multidisciplinary approaches to improving horticultural crop establishment are promising.

ABSTRACT
This experiment is a further development of several previous studies on the potential of Bacillus subtilis 5/B and Pseudomonas diminuta A6 (rhizobacteria), and Aeromonas sp. F112 (phyllobacteria) as biological agents. Research aimed to evaluate the application of biological agents to promote plant growth and to control bacterial leaf blight (BLB) disease in rice seed production. This research consisted of two experiments, the first was in the nursery while the second was in the field. The first experiment conducted in a completely randomized design with one factor (seed treatments) and three levels, i.e., control (untreated), matriconditioning + streptomycin sulphate 0.2% (BsM), biomatriconditioning + B. subtilis 5/B + P. diminuta A6 (BM). The second experiment was conducted in a randomized complete block design with one factor (biological agent aplication methods) and nine levels, i.e., control (untreated), matriconditioning + streptomycin sulphate 0.2% (BsM), biomatriconditioning + B. subtilis 5/B + P. diminuta A6 (BM), soaking of seedlings root with B. subtilis 5/B + P. diminuta A6 (RA), foliar spraying with Aeromonas sp. F112 (SD), BM + RA, BM + SD, RA + SD, BM + RA+ SD. The result showed that seed treatments significantly increased field emergence. Eventhough all treatments did not significantly affect plant growth, incidency and severity level of BLB disease, and yield components, biomatriconditioning showed a better improvement in yield components. The seeds produced from plants treated with the biological agents showed significantly higher vigor index than untreated and matriconditioning + streptomycin sulphate 0.2%.

Keywords: Aeromonas sp., Bacillus subtilis, biomatriconditioning, seed quality, Pseudomonas diminuta

Seed treatment with beneficial microbes or biocontrol agents is called biological seed treatment. Vegetable seed quality includes the physical, pathological, genetic and physiological that leads to successful crop establishment and yield . Use of BCA’s as seed treatments can play an important role in most aspects of seed quality, and be of particular benefit for improved seeding growth under stressful conditions. It not only improve the quality of seed but also protect seed from different seed borne diseases and make the seed healthy.

This chapter discusses the endophytic bacteria and their role in agriculture. The endophytes help in the plant growth by various mechanisms and also help in disease control. The capability of colonizing internal host tissues of plant has made endophytic bacteria valuable for agriculture to improve crop performance. Various endophytic diazotrophic bacteria colonize primarily the root interior of graminaceous plants. The review also discusses the role of endophytes in phytoremediation and induced systemic resistance. Endophytes have found important role in the production of many bioactive compounds, which have various applications (e.g., antibiotics, antimicrobial compounds). The contributions of this research field will have economic and environmental impacts.

Abstract: For a country with diverse ethics of beliefs and cultural practices, interfaith dialogue plays a role to redefine ambiguity in religious and cultural life. Through the role of the New Muslim (Muslim Convert), interfaith dialogue can become a medium to explain the truth about Islam to the non-Muslims and the implementation of real cultural practices to the others Muslim. The objective of this study is to examine the experience of interfaith dialogue in Terengganu and in Brunei. The method of this study is being conducted in document research that related with the Muslim Chinese community in Terengganu and Brunei. In addition, interviews with people involved in the management of New Muslims also carried out. The experience of interfaith dialogue in Terengganu and Brunei shows that dialogue capable explains misunderstandings and further loosening the tension between religion and culture among New Muslims, non-Muslim family members and Muslim communities. However, it is recommended that studies on interfaith dialogue should be strengthened as a medium for rebuilding civilization as the residents of both locations are multi-ethnic and religious while at the same time the problem of interreligious persists.

The importance and problematic range of local government reform in the regions of the country and ways of its solution in the field of culture are analyzed. The most effective steps are proposed for management structures at different levels to change attitudes of both the management and the local population regarding different cultural practices. Emphasis is placed on the role of sectoral methodological services in the implementation of this reform. The experience of other countries in activating the local population in this process is emphasized. An attempt has been made to offer effective, in the authors' opinion, solutions to the reform. Emphasis is placed on the educational factor.

The article presents a reflection on the experience of prenatal ultrasound and on the nature of cultural beings, it creates. It exploits chosen ethnographic and cultural descriptions of prenatal ultrasounds in different cultures, as well as documentary and artistic reflections on medical imagery and new media technologies. It discusses different ways of defining the role of ultrasound in prenatal care and the cultural contexts build around it. Although the prenatal ultrasounds often function in the space of enormous tensions (although they are also supposed to give pleasure), it seems they will accompany us further in the future. It is worthwhile to find some new ways of describing them and to invent new cultural practices to deal with them.

Using the promotional meeting of Dorota Masłowska’s book "More than you can eat" (16 April 2015 in the Bar Studio, Warsaw), as a case study, the article examines the role author plays in it and try to show how the author itself can become the literature. As a result of the transformation of cultural practices associated with the new media, the author’s figure has gained much greater visibility which consequently changed its meaning. In the article, Masłowska’s artistic strategy is compared to visual autofiction in conceptual art and interpreted through the role of the performance and visual representations in the creation of the image or author’s brand.

In this article I discuss how illegal substance consumption can act as a tool of resistance and as an identity signifier for young people through a covert ethnographic case study of a working-class subculture in Genoa, North-Western Italy. I develop my argument through a coupled reading of the work of the Centre for Contemporary Cultural Studies (CCCS) and more recent post-structural developments in the fields of youth studies and cultural critical criminology. I discuss how these apparently contrasting lines of inquiry, when jointly used, shed light on different aspects of the cultural practices of specific subcultures contributing to reflect on the study of youth cultures and subcultures in today’s society and overcoming some of the ‘dead ends’ of the opposition between the scholarly categories of subculture and post-subculture. In fact, through an analysis of the sites, socialization processes, and hedonistic ethos of the subculture, I show how within a single subculture there could be a coexistence of: resistance practices and subversive styles of expression as the CCCS research program posits; and signs of fragmentary and partial aesthetic engagements devoid of political contents and instead primarily oriented towards the affirmation of the individual, as argued by the adherents of the post-subcultural position.
