A new recombinant Aspergillus niger tannase (tannin acyl hydrolase) produced by the Penicillium verruculosum fungus has been studied. A strain with a high level of extracellular tannase (TAN2) secretion (80% of the total extracellular protein) was obtained by cloning the tan2 gene (PDB Acc. No: MT828303) into the recipient strain. The tannase enzyme preparation degraded tannins in black tea extracts. TAN2 was isolated in homogeneous form using chromatographic methods; the enzyme had a high activity against gallotannin (53 U/mg) and less activity against propyl gallate (4.7 U/mg). Homogeneous TAN2 showed temperature and pH optima of 45 °C and 3.5, respectively. At a temperature of 50 °C, TAN2 retained above 80% activity for 3 h; at 60 °C, it retained about 75% of its activity for 90 min; at 70 °C, the enzyme was completely inactivated within 10 min. Tannase was characterized by a high tolerance to NaCl, the activity against gallotannin exceeded 50% of the initial value in solutions with a salt concentration of up to 5 M. The tannase activity was stimulated by Ca2+, Mg2+, Zn2+, Mn2+, Cu2+, Cd2+, Pb2+ by 3--64% and inhibited by 4-65% in the presence of Co2+, Fe3+ and Fe2+ ions. tannase, tannins, Aspergillus niger, Penicillium verruculosum This work was supported by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

The paper analyzes measures adopted by the Russian Federation on internationalization and globalization of the higher education system, its integration into the international scientific and education area. One of the initiatives of the authorities of the Russian Federation in this direction is Project 5-100, designed to increase the competitiveness of both a selected group of universities and the Russian higher education system as a whole. Among the successful practices of Project 5-100, one can identify the presentation of a single stand of participating universities at the international education exhibitions APAIE, EAIE, NAFSA. Within this study, we explore the cooperation of the universities participating in Project 5-100 with potential international partners at global educational exhibitions by means of network analysis with graphs. The effectiveness of such cooperation from the point of view of integration of the universities from this group into the international higher education area is determined through estimations of the usefulness of participation in such events made by the universities and through scientometric analysis. As a result of this study, it was revealed that active participation in international educational exhibitions including negotiating, establishing contacts with international partners, contributes significantly to the promotion of the universities participating in Project 5-100 in the international arena.

There is currently an increasing interest for sustainable innovation in our society. The European agendas highlight the role of higher education institutions in the formation and development of innovation competences among students. Our study aimed to contribute to the analysis of the level of achievement of students’ innovation competences by considering two sustainable development goals (SDG) of the 2030 United Nations’ Agenda: Gender Equality (SDG 5) and Quality Education (SDG 4). This article tries to answer how business students perceive their own innovation competences and which innovative competences are best achieved by students, as well as if there are differences in the achievement of these competences depending on the students’ gender. Our results, from a sample of 360 students in the Business Administration and Management Bachelor’s Degree at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, confirm the extensive development of innovation competences. Moreover, female students present a high level of preparation for innovation-oriented action. These findings have educational implications for potentiating the innovation competences and environments where females can attain innovation skills.
