Introduction: Stroke is a neurological syndrome resulting from a vascular injury that represents one of the main causes of morbidity and mortality in the world. Thus, cerebrovascular diseases are increasing in Brazilian statistics, especially the ischemic stroke, responsible for the highest incidence in cases, therefore characterizing a major public health issue. Methods: In this descriptive and ecological study we used data provided by DATASUS concerning hospitalizations and deaths due to stroke, not specified as hemorrhagic or ischemic, occurred between January 2008 and December 2020 in the region of Grande Vitória, Espírito Santo (GV – ES). Results: Overall, there were 10,199 hospitalizations due to stroke in the GV-ES. The prevalence was 57.2% in brown-skinned people, 26.2% between ages from 60 to 69 years old (26.2%) and 52% in Vitória. Among 2008 until 2014 there was an increase of 788.9% in stroke hospitalizations however between 2015 and 2020 there was a 30.5% reduction. In total there were 1,309 deaths, 64% were brown-skinned people, 29.2% above 80 years old and 51.3% in Vitoria. From 2008 to 2019, a 144.5% increase in the mortality rate was observed. In the analyzes there was no difference regarding the gender. Conclusion: Data analysis inferred that old age and brown skin are risk factors for stroke in GV-ES, thereby requiring greater attention for screening and preventing this disease in those groups. Moreover, there was an increase in the mortality rate, even with reduction in the number of cases, reinforcing the need for effective and resolute care in the region.

Palavras-chave: Mídia; Educação a distância; Letramento digital. Adults Learning and Digital Literacy: The Case of Distance Informatics Technical Course From IFESAbstract The media are increasingly present in the daily lives of students, mainly because most of them was born in this technological world. However, little is known about the digital literacy of adult students of technical courses. For this reason, the main objective of this research was to investigate the relevance of media and digital culture according to the point view of the distance education students of Technical Course in Computer Science from the Federal Institute of Espírito Santo (IFES). The data collected in qualitative research showed that students, despite being active and independent, using their own equipment to study and routinely access the media on personal life, they are not enjoying all the features of distance learning  and they are not using in formal education all available resources in digital culture, particularly mobile technologies and electronic games. We concluded that they could be challenged by the school to expand the learning skills acquired in contact with the digital culture and with the experience of studying at distance, qualifying the digital literacy of students positively. Keywords: Media; Distance education; Digital literacy.

ABSTRACTThe recent re-emergence of yellow fever virus (YFV) in Brazil has raised serious concerns due to the virus’ rapid dissemination in the southeastern region. To better understand YFV genetic diversity and dynamics during the recent outbreak in southeastern Brazil we generated 18 complete and near-complete genomes from the peak of the epidemic curve from non-human primates (NHPs) and human infected cases across Espírito Santo and Rio de Janeiro states. Genomic sequencing of 18 YFV genomes revealed the timing, source and likely routes of yellow fever virus transmission and dispersion during the one of the largest outbreaks ever registered in Brazil. We showed that the recent YFV epidemic spillover southwards several times from Minas Gerais to Espírito Santo and Rio de Janeiro states in 2016 to 2019. The quick production and analysis of data from portable sequencing could identify the corridor of spread of YFV. These findings reinforce that real-time and continued genomic surveillance strategies can assist in the monitoring and public health responses of arbovirus epidemics.IMPORTANCEArbovirus infections in Brazil including Yellow Fever, Dengue, Zika and Chikungunya result in considerable morbidity and mortality and are pressing public health concerns. However, our understanding of these outbreaks is hampered by limited availability of real time genomic data. In this study, we investigated the genetic diversity and spatial distribution of YFV during the current outbreak in southeastern Brazil. To gain insights into the routes of YFV introduction and dispersion, we tracked the virus by sequencing YFV genomes sampled from non-human primates and infected patients from the southeastern region. Our study provides an understanding of how YFV initiates transmission in new Brazilian regions and illustrates that near-real time genomics in the field can augment traditional approaches to infectious disease surveillance and control.

ASPECTOS DO “DIREITO PENAL DESEJADO” EM COMENTÁRIOS DE MÍDIAS SOCIAIS: UMA ANÁLISE CRÍTICA  ASPECTS OF THE “CRIMINAL LAW DESIRED” ON COMMENTS OF SOCIAL MEDIA: A CRITICAL ANALYSIS  Júlio César Pompeu*Marlon Amaral Hungaro**   RESUMO: Analisa-se qual é o “direito penal desejado” expresso por internautas atualmente. Análise Crítica do Discurso. ABSTRACT: This research analyzes what is called as the "criminal law desired” by internet users in contemporary social media. Bibliographical sources and online journalistic material (social media) were used to answer the following question: is there  a “criminal law desired” expressed by Internet users in Brazil? If this "criminal law" exists, which is the media influence in the formation of this discourse? Scientific research is relevant to be made on the eve of the promulgation of the new Criminal Code (PLS No. 236/2012), notably austere, giving voice to public opinion arising out of social media. The study was delimited by the analysis of a lynching occurred in July 2015 in the city of São Luís, State of Maranhão. All the articles published by online newspaper Extra (Globo) were analyzed, as well as the readers’ comments written during nine days – period in which all the materials and comments were published. The assumption is that the “criminal law currently desired” is the same that existed in a distant past: corporal punishment. A Critical Discourse Analysis provides immersion in the research problem. In this sense, there is the confirmation of the hypothesis: the dominant discourse in the comments of Internet users are directed to a more punitive "criminal law" (which legitimates the practice of private revenge and corporal punishment). However, this discourse cannot be considered in isolation, since it was noticeable the media influence in the formation/deformation of the discourse of internet users, which varies according the content published, if it is predominantly informative, an opinion or a biased content). KEYWORDS: “Criminal Law Desired”. Abstract—A new species of Dalechampia from southeastern Brazil, belonging to Dalechampia sect. Dioscoreifoliae, is described and illustrated here. Dalechampia margarethiae is a twining vine occurring exclusively in Espírito Santo state. Its pseudanthia are similar to those of D. peckoltiana and D. pentaphylla, but D. margarethiae differs in a set of important characters, including having cylindrical, down-curved style tips, staminate flowers at anthesis having unreflexed sepals with stamens born on unelongated columns, whitish floral resin, and simple, entire, cordate leaves.
