Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran berdasarkan masalah terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis dan pengaruh model pembelajaran berdasarkan masalah terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa pada materi pencemaran lingkungan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 2 Magelang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain nonrandomized control group pretest-posttest. Analisis data menggunakan uji t. Hasil perhitungan perbedaan rata-rata posttest pada kedua kelompok untuk kemampuan berpikir kritis menunjukkan nilai hitung sebesar 2,45 dan ttabel dengan signifikasi 0,05% dengan dk 62 = 2,00 sedangkan untuk kemampuan berpikir kreatif menunjukkan nilai hitung sebesar 3,43 dan ttabel dengan signifikansi 0,05% dengan dk 62 = 2,00. Hasil perhitungan tersebut menunjukkan bahwa thitung > ttabel. Hal ini berarti hipotesis alternatif (Ha) diterima dan hipotesis nol (H0) ditolak. Dengan demikian, terdapat pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran berdasarkan masalah terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis dan terdapat pengaruh model Pembelajaran Berdasarkan Masalah terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa pada konsep pencemaran lingkungan.Kata Kunci: penggunaan model pembelajaran berdasarkan masalah, kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kemampuan berpikir kreatif. The Effect of the Problem-Based Teaching Model on the Critical Thinking Skills and Creative Thinking Skills of the Students of SMA AbstractThis study aimed to determine the effect of the use of problem-based teaching model on the critical thinking skills and effect of the use of problem-based teaching model on the creative thinking skills of students on environmental pollution materials. The research was conducted at SMAN 2 Magelang. The research method used was a quasi-experimental design with nonrandomized control group pretest-posttest. The data analysis used the t test. The result of the calculation of the posttest average of the difference between the two groups for critical thinking skills shows the calculated value of 2.45 and ttable with the significance level of 0.05% with 62 df = 2.00, while for the ability to think creatively the calculated value of 3.43 shows the ttable with the significance level of 0.05% with 62 df = 2.00. This shows that t > ttable. This means that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. Thus, there is an effect of the use of problem-based teaching model on the critical and creative thinking skills of the students on the concept of environmental pollution.Keywords: use of problem-based teaching model, critical and creative thinking skills.

Improving creative and critical thinking is one of the most important objectives in architectural education. The present research has been performed to investigate the effects of active strategic teaching model (ASTM), on creative and critical thinking skills of architecture students. This quasi-experimental study is of a causal-comparative type and was done as two-group experimental research (control and intervention) using pre-test, post-test method during 2014-2016. The statistical society of the research consists of students of Architecture Design Studio 4 at Tabriz Islamic Art University. The students of control group were carried out with conventional method while the intervention group received active strategic model. The creative and critical thinking skills were compared in both groups in specific dimensions based on reviewing the design process. The statistical analysis was conducted by SPSS software and descriptive statistics, independent t-test, chi-square and ANOVA were used. However, interpretation of the results weren’t causal. In this review, the majority of students could obtain proper results dependent on the amount of their efforts which indicate the relative success of both methods. But, comparing the mean differences of the results in two groups shows a significant difference in enrichment of critical and creative thinking skills of the intervention group in comparison with the control group. In fact, using ASTM led to develop the critical and creative thinking skills as one of the main missions of architectural education and finally led to more and also sustainable achievements in creative procedure of architectural design.


Critical and creative thinking is important skills to students in the era of 21st century. This study aims to identify the effect of teaching approach called STEM-7E learning cycle on critical thinking skills and creative thinking skills. The study was carried out at two different schools in Indonesia. This study employed quantitative study using quasi experimental approach. The participants were divided into two groups which called experimental and control group. Two instrument were used in this study which were Critical Thinking Skills Test and Creative Thinking Skills Test. The Critical Thinking Test consists of three constructs which were interpretation, analysis and inference. The alpha Cronbach of critical thinking instrument is .937. The other instrument for this study is Creative Thinking Skills Test which consists of four construct; creative fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. The alpha Cronbach’s creative thinking skill test is .803. Both study were analysed by using mean, t-test, ANCOVA, N-gain, and effect size. As a conclusion, this study shows that the use of STEM-7E learning cycle show significance differences in increasing student critical thinking skill. On the other hand, there was significance differences between STEM-7E learning cycle and 7E learning cycle in increasing students’ creative thinking.

The purpose of this study is to determie the effect of Problem Based Learning (PBL) on learning outcomes through critical thinking. This research is quasi experimental with posttest only control group design. Analysis of data using Two Way Anova. The result of this research shows that (1) There is a difference between students who are taught by using teaching model PBL and students who are not taught by using teaching model PBL. (2) There is a difference in learning outcomes between high critical thinking skills with low critical thinking skills. This study aims to determine the effect of the implementation of the inquiry type CTL learning model on critical thinking skills. The population in this study were eighth grade students of MTs. Al-Asy’ariyah Bandar Lampung Year 2015/2016. The research method used in this study is Quasi Experimental Design. The research design used in this quasi-experimental was the pretest-posttest control group design. The sampling technique is random sampling. The sample in this study consisted of two classes namely the experimental class and the control class. Data collection techniques in the form of tests to measure students' critical thinking skills and observations to observe behaviors that arise in students according to indicators of critical thinking skills. The results of hypothesis testing obtained thitung = 5.78, while ttabel at a significance level of 5% by 2.00, it can be said that thitung > ttabel. This shows that Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted, meaning that there is an influence of the inquiry type CTL learning model on students' critical thinking abilities.

Penelitian yang berjudul “Penerapan Pembelajaran Kooperatif Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) Berbasis Multimedia Terhadap Berpikir Kritis Siswa SMAN 1 Sakti Kabupaten Pidie Pada Materi Sistem Pernapasan Manusia” telah dilakukan pada tanggal 22 April sampai dengan tanggal 18 Mei 2013 di SMA Negeri 1 Sakti Kabupaten Pidie. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan berpikir kritis siswa antara kelas yang menggunakan model tipe STAD berbasis multimedia dengan kelas konvensional pada siswa kelas XI-IPA di SMAN 1 Sakti Kabupaten Pidie pada materi sistem pernapasan manusia. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain kontrol grup tes awal dan tes akhir. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah keseluruhan siswa kelas XI yang berjumlah 176 siswa, sampelnya sebanyak 60 siswa yang dibagi menjadi dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes untuk menilai keterampilan berpikir kritis. Parameter penelitian ini adalah keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji t pada taraf signifikan 0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan berpikir kritis siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan kooperatif STAD berbasis multimedia dengan konvensional. Keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD berbasis multimedia lebih baik daripada keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa yang diajarkan dengan model konvensional. A study entitled "The application of Cooperative Learning Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) of Multimedia -Based toward Critical Thinking of SMAN 1 Sakti Pidie Students in the material of Human Respiratory System" has been conducted since April 22 until May 18, 2013. This study was aiming at finding out the differences of students’ critical thinking between the class that used STAD models based on multimedia and the conventional one. This study was conducted in Science Class grade XI of SMAN 1 Sakti Pidie district in the material of human respiratory system. This study used a quasi-experimental method with pre-test and post-test control group design. The population of this study was all of students class XI for about 176 students. Meanwhile, the samples were 60 students that were divided into two classes, namely experimental class and control one. The instrument used in this study was a test of critical thinking skills. The data then analyzed by using t-test at the significance level of 0.05. The results showed that the critical thinking skill of students who learned by cooperative STAD using multimedia -based was better than those who learned by using conventional one. This research was aimed at finding out the effect of Think Talk Write (TTW) towards students’ critical thinking skills in reading comprehension at the first grade of SMKN 2 Lingsar. The research was experimental research. The design was quasi-experimental design by with nonequivalent control group design. The two classes were chosen as the samples in this research which consist of 32 students. They were chosen by using purposive sampling technique. The research instruments consist of reading tests and questionnaire. Reading test was employed in the form of a multiple choice and essay. Meanwhile, the questionnaire was used to attain the students’ critical thinking skills. In analyzing the data, researchers applied statistical analysis. It showed the value of t-test = 2,482 ≥ t-table = 1,697 at the significant level 5% (0.05). Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that Think Talk Write has a positive effect on students' critical thinking in reading comprehension at first-grade student of SMKN 2 Lingsar. In other words, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected.

The aims of the research concerned here were to the influence of using pocket mobile learning on improvement in students critical thinking skills. Pocket mobile learning is a learning media using mobile devices. This research is the quasy experiment using post test only for control group design.The independent variable is learning media in which the control group applied powerpoint, while the trearment group applied mobile pocket learning. The  research  data  were  analyzed  by  means  of  ANOVA  with  the  significance  level  of  5%.  Based on analysis and research results can be concluded that pocket mobile learning media of specifically physics material about dynamics of motion could improve students critical thinking skills.

This study aims to study: the differences between students who take part in spending with a project-based learning model and students who follow learning with conventional models of student learning motivation. This study was a quasi-experimental study with nonequivalent control group design. The population in this study were fifth grade students of Public Elementary School 167 Pekanbaru in 2018/2019. Data collection using tests to determine critical thinking skills and questionnaires to learn learning motivation. Data analysis using t-test and Manova with a significance level of 5%. The results of this study indicate that there are differences between students who take part in spending with a project-based learning model with students who take learning with the conventional model on student learning motivation with the results of data calculations also understand Thitung at 17.412 and P = 0.00.

The application of problem based learning in the classroom often experiences obstacles, primarily to teach high-level thinking skills, such as critical thinking skills. To overcome these obstacles, in this study we tried the use of peer tutors to guide their friends in a collaborative group when solving problems. This study aims to describe the impact of peer tutoring in problem-based learning on the critical thinking skills of high school physics students. This type of research is a quasi-experimental study with a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample of this research is class X MIPA 3 and X MIPA 4 SMAN 4 Jember. One class was given treatment using problem-based learning accompanied by peer tutoring, while one other class only used problem-based learning. Data about critical thinking skills were obtained from the posttest at the end of learning which was then analyzed using the Independent Sample T-test on SPSS 23. The statistical test results stated that there were differences between the average values of the experimental class and the control class. Thus, it is concluded that peer tutoring in the problem-based learning model has a significant effect on critical thinking skills. The essential aspect of thinking skills with the highest value lies in interpreting skills.

AbstrakPembelajaran matematika diharapkan dapat mengasah kemampuan berpikir kritis, meskipun pembelajaran secara daring. Penelitian bertujuan menerapkan salah satu model pembelajaran yang menekankan pada aspek berpikir kritis yaitu model 3CM (Cool-Critical-Creative-Meaningfull) pada materi bangun ruang sisi datar dan menganalisis dampaknya terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa SMPN di Salatiga, sampelnya 82 siswa dari SMPN 1 Salatiga dan SMPN 6 Salatiga yang dibagi menjadi kelompok eksperimen 1 dan 2. Desain penelitian eksperimen semu ini adalah randomized control grup pretest-postest design. Instrumen tes berbentuk 7 soal uraian, terdiri dari pretest dan posttest dengan rubrik penilaian berdasarkan aspek Focus, Reason, Inference, Situation, Clarity, and Overview. Uji hipotesis menunjukkan penerapan model pembelajaran 3CM dengan dua jenis kegiatan creative yang berbeda yaitu berbasis project dan berbasis problems posing menghasilkan kemampuan berpikir kritis yang sama. Penerapan 3CM dimungkinkan untuk menggunakan dua jenis kegiatan tersebut dalam melakukan aspek creative guna mengasah kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa.  The Effectiveness of The 3 CM (Cool-Critical-Creative-Meaningful) Learning Model on The Critical Thinking Ability of SMP StudentsAbstractMathematics learning is expected to hone thinking skills, although learning must be done boldly. This study aims to apply a learning model that emphasizes the critical thinking aspect, namely the 3CM (Cool-Critical-Creative-Meaningful) model on the flat-sided building material, and analyze its impact on students' critical thinking skills. The study population was all students of SMPN in Salatiga, the sample was 82 students from SMPN 1 Salatiga and SMPN 6 Salatiga who were divided into experimental 1 and 2 groups. This quasi-experimental research design was a randomized control group pretest-posttest design. The test instrument is in the form of a description of 7 questions consisting of a pretest and posttest with a rubric based on aspects Focus, Reason, Inference, Situation, Clarity, and Overview. Hypothesis testing that the application of the 3CM learning model with different types of Creative (based on project and problems posing) activities results in the same critical thinking skills.
