This paper describes two main aspects of environmental management in Barcelona; city mobility and waste management. The observation is documented through hard evidence of photographs, local authority database and information accessible to the public. This paper is divided into three sections; 1) current urban planning and management 2) the sustainability and environmental approaches governed by the city 3) personal thoughts and experience overlooking the general attitude and culture of the people of Barcelona. The success of the revitalization program of urban public space is viewed through attributes that have been identified. This study aims to investigate the perception of users in public space through the on-site survey. In summary, the motivations, behavioural patterns, impressions on the public space as an attraction and the perceived importance of urban public spaces in the development of the city are important attributes for successful public space. The findings of this study will show main attributes in successful revitalization of urban public space based on users perception and can be used in a meaningful way to the users. Public squares function as open spaces where people can conduct many activities and events in the city. The ‘life’ of squares evolves and changes according to the contemporary demands of the people. Learning about the evolution of the City Square in Melbourne, Australia, this study aims to analyse how its designs changed over the years in order to accommodate city life. This study employs spatial analysis to examine the relationships between the square’s physical characteristics with people’s activities. The findings reveal that square designs ought to meet evolving social, physical and environmental needs to cater for future requirements and lifestyles.2398-4279 © 2016. The Authors. The extraordinary societal challenges demand cities to be innovative and adaptable to the needs of urban citizens. In the Malaysian context, the Blue-Green Infrastructure (BGI) has not been well incorporated into the ULLs. This paper seeks to address this gap by exploring the potential of the Blue-Green Urban Living Labs (BGULLs) at the Sungai Bunus catchment area. Using Google Form, survey questionnaire is conducted among professionals and the public. Pruning is one of the most crucial tree maintenance activities which give an impact on the tree's health and structure. Besides, improper pruning will contribute to the risk of injury to property and the public. This study aims to assess pruning knowledge among four Local authorities in Malaysia. Results found that 69.3 percent of tree pruning workers have a Good pruning knowledge level. However, Topping, pruning types and pruning cut dimension shows the lowest mean percentage of the correct answer. The findings also show that there is a significant positive relationship between pruning knowledge and education level and frequency attending pruning courses.Keywords: Tree pruning; knowledge; sustainable practices; urban treeseISSN: 2398-4287 © 2020. China is a seismic active country. We suffered a large number of fatalities by earthquake damage. A great deal of requirements on disaster mitigation has been putting forward and which is becoming a hot topic in the society. This paper focuses on the safety situation of residential environment in Chinese cities, tries to examine the vulnerabilities for earthquake disaster mitigation. We chose the city of Tianjin as target area applying for the detail analysis. An evaluation was interpreted into suggestions and advices on planning and management. The city of Cairo - since the beginning of the third millennium - has witnessed a constructional expansion of new cities for people of class A to live within gated communities, which provide luxury and safety. This research aims to identify the tangible and intangible needs from the occupants’ and the interior designer’s perspective, due to the diversity of these needs. Local Plan of every city in the world reflects its policies and public needs. Hence, it is vital to decide the suitable process representing the public voice. This paper analyses the process of public participation during the preparation of the Kuala Lumpur City Plan (KLCP). The purpose of this paper is to examine the usage of public library towards youth development. Generally, a public library offers information and educational resources to a community. Being that in the modern world, there are other modes in seeking information, the public library is often disregarded and being ignored of its existence. Factors that affect the use of public library such as accessibility, availability, comfortability and the maintenance of it plays an important role in determining its usage among youth. This paper discusses the interview data collection of an on-going research on accessibility of public buildings in Putrajaya. Main issues include the public awareness of PWD rights and the true concepts of Universal Design (UD). Main purposes are to investigate the building managers’ level of awareness and perception regarding the accessibility of their buildings and to study their knowledge on UD theory. Semi-structured interview was carried out with building managers from three public buildings in Putrajaya. Findings show that UD knowledge needs to be enhanced among building managers in order to increase awareness on inclusive environment in public buildings. This paper focused on place attachment and its significance in defining place identity with reference to three main shopping streets in the city center of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Place identity refers to the identification of emotion and feelings to a particular place and the distinctive characteristics of the place in which human-place bonding is developed. The weakening of place identity has been identified as one of the urban design issues for contemporary cities. This paper identified the issues concerning place identity; concepts of place and place attachment constructs, the identification of place attachment constructs and place attributes that could be used as assessment indicators for future redevelopment of local urban places. A questionnaire survey and interviews were conducted to examine place attachment and to identify the characteristics of the places that exerted influence and would then benefit in terms of securing place identity which in turn sustained attraction and thus brought greater economic and tourism advantages to the city.
