Health care and hospital buildings are among the most complex construction in the built environment which comprises a broad range of utility, services, and functional units. The objectives of the study are to review the built environment performance level of the public teaching health care hospital in meeting user’s need. Three (3) public training health care hospitals in Selangor district in Malaysia are selected as a case study sample. Based on the finding the study revealed that the correlation coefficient between technical building performance and the importance of POE Guideline are positively correlated based on security, safety, and efficiency and health criteria.© 2016. Pruning is one of the most crucial tree maintenance activities which give an impact on the tree's health and structure. Besides, improper pruning will contribute to the risk of injury to property and the public. This study aims to assess pruning knowledge among four Local authorities in Malaysia. Results found that 69.3 percent of tree pruning workers have a Good pruning knowledge level. However, Topping, pruning types and pruning cut dimension shows the lowest mean percentage of the correct answer. The findings also show that there is a significant positive relationship between pruning knowledge and education level and frequency attending pruning courses.Keywords: Tree pruning; knowledge; sustainable practices; urban treeseISSN: 2398-4287 © 2020. Taiping Lake Garden (TLG) is one of the remaining British legacies located in Taiping, Perak. TLG is facing the transformation of English landscape environment, and diminishing the public appreciation on its historical value. This study aims to investigate the transformation of TLG’s historical value in the current environment, and to propose suggestions in promoting public awareness towards conserving the historical value in historic garden. This study has assessed the public awareness through a combination of survey and case study. Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) is one of the most promising renewable energy technologies. A BIPV system as a second layer of building envelopes is useful not only for the electric power generation but also for blocking solar radiation to reduce cooling load. This study aimed to explore the limitations of the automated BPS of an adaptive BIPV case study that its development conducted through a collaboration of a BIM software, a BIM-integrated visual programming environment, and a cloud-based energy analysis. The report aimed to investigate activities of the Public Relations Bureau of Press, Media, and Information of the Indonesia State Secretariat Ministry through social media to overcome the crisis and restore the image of President Joko Widodo after Islamic Action 212. The case study method was used to reveal and explain the disrupted image of President Joko Widodo. The study result showed two-way communication could not develop and receive negative comments from social media audiences of the State Secretariat Facebook. It disrupted the image of the President. Studies on Special Interest Tourism (SIT) have gained an increasing attention within the last decade. This article examined the potentials of attractions in Kuala Lumpur that can attract built environment professionals as a niche group of tourists. Based on analysing secondary data sourced from technical tours, tour packages and attractions promoted by different agencies, this study mapped, tabulated and examined existing buildings and sites with their unique characteristics. 58 buildings and sites showed potentials as tourism attractions for built environment professionals through technical tours. Assessment on the physical design of healthcare facilities from the perspective of the patient and their family members (user) is the method to understand their expectation, preferences and experiences. This paper reports the study conducted on an outpatient unit in Malaysia, focusing particularly on the interior design characteristics. The study adopted post occupancy evaluation technique that combines baseline analysis, occupancy survey and walkthrough observation methods. The study findings indicate that the case study, which has served the public for more than 20 years, is performing moderately on all interior design aspects. Users’ assessments did not score any of the facility “good” in terms of their interior quality, suggesting the desire for improvement to the current facility. The walkability approach is essential to ensure the connectivity among space in the urban area. The design should be appropriate, safety, maximize and capable of reaching every inch of the spaces, just by walking. Good connectivity must allow people to walk freely and accessible in many ways. People have great chances to meet each other or having potential outdoor activities without any challenges. This study aims to measure the user perception of the existing spaces in the urban public housing environment that been covered and uncovered with the walkability linkages. The objectives of this study are to identify the existing pedestrian linkages in the study area; to investigate the user perception of the existing walkability system in the study area, and finally to conclude and provide a better solution for better walkability opportunity among residents to access the public park.© 2016. The extraordinary societal challenges demand cities to be innovative and adaptable to the needs of urban citizens. In the Malaysian context, the Blue-Green Infrastructure (BGI) has not been well incorporated into the ULLs. This paper seeks to address this gap by exploring the potential of the Blue-Green Urban Living Labs (BGULLs) at the Sungai Bunus catchment area. Using Google Form, survey questionnaire is conducted among professionals and the public. The design of the public transport as to meet working women’s travelling needs is still lacking in Malaysian urban scenarios. Having that in mind, the increasing crime rate among these vulnerable group in urban area had further increase their level of fear while commuting to work. This is especially true for many working women who have no choice but to travel using public transport to their work place on a routine basis. To further investigate the factors of women travel pattern that affect the fear level among these vulnerable group of commuters, time and age were considered in this study. PTIs are encouraged to participate in entrepreneurial activities that are appropriate for their area and ability. Thus, this qualitative case study where a semi-structured interview with the selected Malaysian Private Tahfiz Institutions (PTIs) was conducted to identify entrepreneurial activities to pay operational and management costs, to analyze the obstacles, limitations, problems faced and to assess the balance of entrepreneurial activities in educational governance of these religious, educational institutions. The findings demonstrated that involving PTIs in entrepreneurship can cover ranging from 40 to 50 percent of total operating costs.
