Background Providing patient-centered fertility care is known to improve quality of life and can reduce anxiety and depression. In a previous study, we established the need for a web-based app providing personalized information and interactive functionalities among couples undergoing intracytoplasmic sperm injection with surgically retrieved sperm. Objective This study aimed to design, develop, and qualitatively evaluate a multifaceted web-based app for infertile couples undergoing intracytoplasmic sperm injection with surgically retrieved sperm during their treatment trajectory. Methods The web-based app was developed in three phases: (1) we established a patient-centered functional design, (2) developed the app in collaboration with medical and technical professionals, and (3) qualitatively evaluated the app among couples using a think-aloud method. Results The basis of the app is the couple’s visualized treatment trajectory. The app provides personalized and interactive functionalities; for example, customized information and communication options. During qualitative evaluation, myFertiCare was highly appreciated and received a median score of 8 out of 10. The main improvements made upon conclusion of the think-aloud sessions were related to faster login and easier app navigation. Conclusions A patient-centered web-based app aimed at guiding couples through their fertility treatment course was systematically designed, developed, and positively evaluated by patients and medical and technical professionals.

This chapter outlines a study that examines the role of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in management of a rare and chronic disease, hemophilia. Evidence in literature shows how the adoption of ICTs can improve the management of chronic conditions. Furthermore, these tools may also give response to rare diseases' needs, while greatly improving the quality of life of those patients. A Web-based application that was developed to facilitate communication between Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) and patients in a specific Hemophilia Treatment Center (HTC), to improve the utility and quality of clinical data and treatment information, as well as to help the management of resources involved in a specific rare chronic disease, represents a practical case presented in this chapter. This technological solution allows the management of inherited bleeding disorders, integrating, diffusing, and archiving large sets of data relating to the clinical practice of hemophilia care, more specifically the clinical practice at the Hematology Service of Coimbra Hospital Center.

From a perspective of patient-centered healthcare, exploring patients' (a) preconceptions, (b) treatment experiences, (c) quality of life, (d) satisfaction, (e) illness understandings, and (f) design are all critical components in improving primary health care and research. Utilizing qualitative approaches to discover patients' experiences can provide valuable information for practitioners and investigators alike. In this paper, the author describes how researchers can select from among five major qualitative designs (i.e., primary qualitative research, qualitative evaluation, collaborative inquiry, mixed method, and qualitative meta-study) and five preeminent qualitative methodologies (i.e., descriptive, phenomenology, grounded theory, ethnography, and narrative) to create studies to meet their patient-centered research needs.

One of the roles in information and communication technology to improve the quality of learning and teachingin educational organizations is to conduct a web-based learning facility that e-learning. In  general, there are two types of software that is generic and bespoke (customized), in this study we found that the university mercubuana customized using generic applications. Featured model is a way to define the functionality of the application based on the features required by user features, the features of these features can be grouped based on necessity (mandatory) and supplementary (optional). Preparation of requirements-based features proposed in this study is intended as the reference management application requirements e-learning mapped clearly and well. So it can be helpful to the development of future applications.

Advancement of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is currently carrying various changes in various areas of life, including field of education specifically on New Students Admissions (PPDB) online. This evaluation study aimed to assess or determine the effectiveness of the implementation of PPDB online for improving the quality of learning in Gorontalo City. This evaluation study used survey research methods, they are the questionnaire, interviews, and observations. The results of this evaluation study shows that PPDB online system has been proved able to realize PPDB services faster, orderly, easy, transparent, accountable, effective, and efficient to the public. In addition, this online system can guarantee PPDB process in accordance with the applicable rules (technical manual) so that a more equitable (fair), may reduce the risk of manipulation (KKN), and may encourage the mastery of ICT to the public, and can improve the quality of learning. Therefore, people are satisfied with the system PPDB online. PPDB online system that uses Web-based technology can be a model implementation PPDB in the education office and school in the future.

Developing high quality engineering course units is a challenging task. Capacity to explain complex technical solutions and behavioral phenomena of engineering technologies in a limited timeframe is not an easy job. Moreover, ensuring information reproducibility for individual study is also important. Sometimes, courses should be delivered remotely. In this context, the latest developments in information and communication technologies (ICT), including multimedia and Internet-based education platforms, facilitate the creation of reliable solutions to these challenges. Even if information technologies are helpful, careful planning is required to design quality course units because many conflicts occur in meeting quality targets. In this respect, a generic approach for improving the quality of engineering course units when a large set of requirements and constrains intervenes on the design map is introduced in this paper as a mean to identify the best places where and how ICT can aid the education process. Quality planning and innovation tools are considered to master this situation. The research shows that smart application of multimedia technologies and web-based education platforms can deliver great results towards better quality of engineering courses.

Globally, large-scale national initiatives are being implemented towards promoting the level and quality of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) use in school education. However, despite these efforts, the current level of ICT uptake from schools remains low. A wide range of factors have been identified as barriers, including lack of teachers' ICT Competences and lack of ICT infrastructure. Typically, these barriers are tackled separately without taking into consideration the ecosystemic nature of schools as organizations. This paper introduces a holistic approach on School ICT Competence based on combining both individual teachers' ICT Competences and schools' eMaturity. Furthermore, it presents the design of a web-based School ICT Competence Management System which aims to capture and monitor schools' overall level of ICT uptake and facilitate effective management of resources and strategic planning towards improvement, by jointly processing these data.
