Studies on sustaniable developemnt show that agropolitan area is one of the urban development concepts that distinctivelu offers a design for sustainable developlemt for planning. The concept of agropolitan area offers a way to fill in the gap of capital flow gap between cities and villages. However, detailed analysis of the variety of sustainability is necesary to examine dimensions of sustanibility. Taking the case of an Angropolitan project in the Sendang villange of Tulungangung East Java), this study aims to identify the level of the sustainability of Agropolitan management. In assessing the level of sustainability, this study employs the method of Multidimensional Scaling (MDS). The framework of sustainable livelihoods is divided into five components of capital : human, natural, physical, financial, and social. The sustainability analysis is carried out by using the Multi-Dimensional Scaling (MDS) approach with Rapid Appraisal Techniques for Fisheries (Rap-fish). Based on Rapfish result, we obtain an index value of capitals : human (54.63%), natural (58,34%), financial (31.55%), physical (22.13%), and social (56.41%). Human, natural, and social capital are categorized as quite sustainable. Financial and physycal aspects appear less sustainable than other aspects. In general, the status of sustainability in the management of the Sendang Agropolitan is quite sufficient.

Housing is a basic human need, but the Government has not been able to fully provide decent shelter for the community. Governments have an obligation to provide access to adequate housing communities, livable, prosperous, cultured, and social justice. This study aimed to analyze the sustainability of the environmental infrastructure of low cost rental apartment (rusunawa) in Jakarta. To determine the condition of exixting low cost rental apartment in Jakarta, this study was conducted in five locations of Rusunawa. The sustainability of infrastructure environmental methods included Focus Group Discussion and Multi-Dimensional Scaling (MDS) approach using RAPFISH techniques program. An index value of sustainability infrastructure in rusunawa Jakarta is obtained based on an assessment of 29 attributes included into four (4) dimensions of infrastructure facilities (8 attributes), sociocultural (7 attributes), perception (7 attributes) and management (7 attributes). The results of multidimensional analysis produce an index value of sustainability infrastructure of rusunawa is 47.275. This value reflects that the existence of infrastructure of rusunawa in Jakarta is sustainable less. This research can be used as the basis for improvement of aspects that have not been sustained and become a model for other Rusunawa management.

Maluku merupakan propinsi kepulauan dengan potensi sumberdaya perikanan tangkap yang besar. Potensi tersebut meliputi kelompok jenis ikan pelagis besar seperti tuna dan cakalang, pelagis kecil, demersal, udang, cumi-cumi dan ikan karang. Hal tersebut mendorong pemerintah menjadikan wilayah Maluku menjadi lumbung ikan nasional (M-LIN). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis status kesiapan Maluku sebagai lumbung ikan nasional. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah Multi Dimensional Scaling (MDS) dala bentuk RAP-MLIN (Rapid Appraisal for Maluku as ‘Lumbung Ikan Nasional’) yang merupakan modifikasi dari software RAPFISH (Rapid Appraisal for Fisheries). Hasil analisisnya dinyatakan dalam bentuk indeks dan kesiapan program tersebut. Analisis leverage dan Monte-Carlo digunakan untuk mengetahui faktor pengungkit yang merupakan atribut-atribut yang sensitif terhadap indeks dan status kesiapan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada dimensi ekologi statusnya cukup siap (50,33%), dimensi ekonomi cukup siap (67,62%), dimensi sosial siap (92,37%), dimensi teknologi siap (99,90%), dimensi infrastruktur cukup siap (70,56%), dan dimensi kelembagaan dan kebijakan siap (86,26%). Dari 47 atribut yang dianalisis, terdapat 18 atribut yang merupakan faktor pengungkit terhadap indeks dan status kesiapan, sehingga perlu dilakukan upaya perbaikan atau intervensi terhadap atribut-atribut tersebut. Dengan melakukan intervensi terhadap 18 faktor tersebut diharapkan dapat meningkatkan status kesiapan Maluku sebagai Lumbung Ikan Nasional ke tingkat yang lebih siap.(Evaluation of Readiness for Maluku as “Lumbung Ikan Nasional”)Maluku is an archipilagic province with large potential for fisheries resources including pelagic groups such as tuna and skipjack tuna, small pelagic, demersal, shrimp, squid and reef fish. This situation encourages the government to establish Maluku as “Lumbung Ikan Nasional (M-LIN)”. This study aimed to analyze the status of readiness of Maluku as “Lumbung Ikan Nasional”. Analytical method was used Multi Dimensional Scaling (MDS) which is so called RAP-MLIN (Rapid Appraisal for Maluku as Lumbung Ikan Nasional) which is a modification of the software RAPFISH (Rapid Appraisal for Fisheries). Analysis results expressed in terms of index and status of program readiness. Leverage and Monte Carlo analysis was used to determine attributes that are sensitive to the index and readiness status. Results showed that the ecological dimension was quite ready status (50.33%), the economic dimension was quite ready (67.62%), the social dimension ready (92.37%), the dimensions of the technology is ready (99.90%), the dimensions of the infrastructure was quite ready (70.56%), and the institutional and policy dimensions were ready (86.26%). Of the 47 attributes to be analyzed, there were 18 attributes enter during to factor of the index and the readiness status of the project, so that improvement and precise intervention can be made. With those intervention the implementation of Maluku as ‘Lumbung Ikan Nasional’ can be ensured.

Coastal area has a strategic value for the development of national economy and improving people's welfare. However, coastal area is also extremely vulnerable to environmental damage and destruction. Therefore, the need of sustainable management with regard to the dimension of ecological, economic, social and institutional is important. This research is aimed to overview the current condition of coastal area in the Madura strait and to formulate coastal management strategies in term of sustainable development. Multi Dimensional Scaling (MDS) method was used in this research. Five dimensions (ecology, economy, social, technology and institution) were measured. The results showed that in general, coastal management of Madura Strait was less to moderately sustainable. It means that coastal management of the area has given enough contribution for the community; however the condition of the environment should be supervised closely to provide continuous benefit for future economics of the region.

Tuntutan global saat ini yang senantiasa meneriakkan kelestarian atau produksi yang berkelanjutan sudah tidak dapat dihindari lagi, termasuk juga didalam pengelolaan perkebunan kelapa sawit khususnya kemitraan pola inti-plasma, yang harus segera dicari solusi atau pendekatannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menilai indeks dan status keberlanjutan pengelolaan perkebunan kelapa sawit pola inti-plasma di PT. Bio Nusantara Teknologi yang berkelanjutan dari dimensi ekologi, ekonomi, sosial- budaya, teknologi-infrastruktur, dan hukum-kelembagaan, serta mengidentifikasi atribut yang sensitif terhadap keberlanjutan pengelolaan perkebunan kelapa sawit pola inti inti-plasma di PT. Bio Nusantara Teknologi. Analisis keberlanjutan dilakukan dengan metode pendekatan Multi Dimensional Scaling (MDS) dengan teknik kelapa sawit Rap-Insus (Rapid Appraisal Index Sustainability of palm oil management). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa status keberlanjutan pengelolaan perkebunan kelapa sawit pola inti-plasma di PT. Bio Nusantara Teknologi Kabupaten Bengkulu Tengah yang berdasarkan atas 5 dimensi dinyatakan  cukup berkelanjutan dengan indeks keberlanjutan multidimensi sebesar 53,18, dimana dimensi yang cukup berkelanjutan ada 3 dimensi yaitu ekologi, ekonomi, dan sosial-budaya, sedangkan 2 dimensi lainnya yaitu teknologi-infrastruktur dan hukum-kelembagaan berada pada status kurang berkelanjutan. Kata Kunci: Perkebunan Kelapa Sawit, Pengelolaan Inti-Plasma, Multidimensi,AnalisisKeberlanjutan

The study was conducted from January to July 2018 in four sub-districts (Bunga Raya, Sabak Auh, Sungai Apit and Sungai Mandau) in Siak Regency. The sample of farmers in this study were 203 people who were selected by purposive sampling. Data collection was done by interviewing techniques using questionnaires and field observations. The analysis of the sustainability of lowland rice farming was carried out based on the assessment of index and sustainability status using the Rap-Rice method in Multi-Dimensional Scaling (MDS). The purpose of this study was to analyze the index and the status of sustainability of the socio-cultural dimensions of wetland farming and analyze the role of each of the socio-cultural attributes that have sensitivity to the management of rice farming in the future. The results of Rap-Rice analysis of the seven socio-cultural attributes analyzed, two attributes provide sensitivity to the District (Bunga Raya, Sabak Auh and Sungai Mandau). Four attributes give sensitivity to Sungai Apit District. The attribute that gives sensitivity to all sub-districts is the attribute of attending training / counseling. Based on socio-cultural conditions, the analysis of wetland rice farming in Siak District showed a fairly sustainable category for Bunga Raya District (56.7%), Sabak Auh (50.80%) and Sungai Mandau (51.10%) while for Sungai Apit Subdistrict the value was obtained (47.70%) or less sustainable .

<p>Penelitian ini bertujuan merumuskan strategi mengatasi kemiskinan pada anak buah bagan di Sumatra Barat. Metoda kuantifikasi pendekatan Sustainable Livelihoods Approach (SLA) digunakan dalam penelitian ini dan diterapkan di dua kampung nelayan yaitu Sungai Pinang dan Ampang Pulai, di Provinsi Sumatera Barat. Wawancara dilakukan pada 52 rumah tangga nelayan yang bekerja di sektor perikanan bagan sebagai anak buah, kapten atau sebagai pemilik bagan. Analisis data menggunakan multi-dimensional scaling berdasarkan pengelompokkan ke dalam enam jenis sumber daya yaitu alam, keuangan, manusia, sosial, kelembagaan dan sumber daya buatan. Hasil penelitian ini menjelaskan bahwa pemilik kapal bagan memiliki sumber daya buatan, keuangan dan manusia yang lebih tinggi daripada anak kapal atau buruh tetapi tidak terdapat perbedaan untuk sumber daya alam, sosial dan kelembagaan. Lembaga perikanan kurang mendukung semua dari bagan sektor. Program pemerintah cenderung menargetkan pada sumber daya buatan tanpa meningkatkan keuangan dan sumber daya manusia terlebih dahulu. Penelitian ini menghasilkan empat jalan keluar dari kemiskinan yang dihadapi nelayan.</p><p> </p><p>In this paper a new methodology of quantifying the Sustainable Livelihoods Approach (SLA) is presented and applied to two fishing communities, Sungai Pinang and Ampang Pulai, in West Sumatra. Interviews with 52 households from the bagan sector, including crew members, captains and owners, are analysed using a multi dimensional scaling approach according to six asset categories. The analysis demonstrated that owners possess higher physical, financial and human capital than crew members but that there was no difference in the natural, social and institutional fields. Institutional support across all sectors scored poorly. Government programs tend to emphasise bridging the gap between crew members and owners by providing physical capital without necessarily addressing the underlying financial and human capital limitations that crew members face. The paper concludes with an explanation of the main routes out of poverty for a crew member.</p>

Pulau Sebatik merupakan salah satu kawasan perbatasan negara antara Indonesia dan Malaysia. Di kawasan perbatasan Pulau Sebatik, tanaman kakao merupakan salah satu komoditas unggulan yang telah dibudidayakan sejak tahun 1980-an. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis status keberlanjutan perkebunan kakao rakyat di kawasan tersebut. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah Multi Dimensional Scaling (MDS) yang disebut RAP-SEBATIK (Rapid Appraisal for Cocoa on Sebatik Island) yang hasilnya dinyatakan dalam bentuk indeks dan status keberlanjutan. Analisis Leverage dan Monte Carlo digunakan untuk mengetahui atribut-atribut yang sensitif  terhadap indeks, dan status keberlanjutan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada dimensi ekologi statusnya kurang berkelanjutan (46,23%), dimensi ekonomi kurang berkelanjutan (48,58%), dimensi sosial budaya berkelanjutan (75,20%), dimensi infrastruktur dan teknologi kurang berkelanjutan (36.39%) dan dimensi hukum dan kelembagaan kurang berkelanjutan (40,49%). Dari 53 atribut yang dianalisis, terdapat 17 faktor atau atribut yang sensitif terhadap indeks dan status keberlanjutan, sehingga perlu dilakukan upaya perbaikan atau intervensi terhadap atribut-atribut tersebut untuk meningkatkan indeks dan status keberlanjutan.

This study carry the objective to analyze index value and sustainable status of dairy cattle in Batu city for its ecological dimension. Analysis method used is Multi Dimensional Scaling (MDS) known as Rap-USPE. Analysis result is sustainable index value for ecology dimension with 59,02 percent or categorized into quite sustainable. Leverage analysis result showed two sensitiv e attributes contributing toward improvement of sustainable index value which is availability of greens woof and waste management.
