In this paper, the supply chain management risks arising from 2019-novel coronavirus (hereinafter referred to as “COVID-19”) outbreak was proposed, and they were further analyzed from three main aspects such as change in demand conditions of domestic customers, change in domestic supply market, impact on domestic logistics industry. Besides, multiple feasible strategies for coping with such epidemic situation were proposed for enterprises based on the super-dynamic capability theory. The research in this paper has powerful theoretical value and practical significance for the current development of enterprises, especially the reorganization of enterprises under the current epidemic crisis in China.

This chapter studies the role that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) play in the e-supply chain management. It has two objectives: (1) it explores how a SME embraces and implements electronic supply chain management (e-SCM) and the challenges facing it, and (2) it develops strategy to deal with the challenges. The chapter draws upon a case study of IFC Global Logistics (IFC), a small-to-medium-sized third party logistics provider. The case study illustrates how the SME embraces enabling technologies, the Internet, and modern business practices to integrate its supply chain management processes and to create for itself differentiation and a competitive advantage in the tough logistics industry. Based upon a literature review and the case study, the chapter explores effective strategy for SMEs in e-supply chain management.

Supply Chain Management operations have traditionally been a gendered career. The role of a diverse workforce, particularly women, is reexamined from the perspective of maximizing the bottom-line and profit sharing in the logistics industry. The unique and problematic diversity issues that underlie both practices and policy in the industry are discussed. These include the more obvious inequities in salaries, to the more insidious and often invisible assumptions that may underlie policy. The net result is detrimental for both business and the basic ethical imperative of equity. The narrative places the discussion of logistics business operations and decision-making in the context of the current research on gender differences, and examines possible ways to create more equitable enterprises, while maintaining and improving the bottom-line.

E-commerce is not only changing the way people transact». This article takes Jingdong Mall as an example to review the development trajectory of China’s e-commerce in the past two decades. Research shows that: the development of e-commerce is promoting the extension of industrial boundaries; driving the reform of the express delivery industry and even the logistics industry; reshaping the supply chain and the optimization process of supply chain management. At the same time, the development of e-commerce requires the support of more public infrastructures and puts forward higher requirements on the government’s market supervision capabilities.

The benefits of blockchain technology for supply chain management and logistics have been authenticated in recent years. It can support transparency and guarantee eventual, system-wide consensus on the validity of an entire history of transactions. As Conte de Leon et al. defined, blockchains would cause disrupting transformations in all types of industries when used in supply chain management. Logistic companies should engage in blockchain technology to adapt rapidly to changing market conditions and needs in today's dynamic business environment. Thus, this chapter provides a comprehensive overview of blockchain technology and focuses on crucial supply chain capabilities to create such transparency, flexibility, and mutual trust between supply chain partners.

Eco friendly management has received attention from business as an important competitive source. Thus, an emerging body of studies is interested in the implementation of green supply chain management (GSCM). Previous research in this field has acknowledged the importance of GSCM. However, the capability that enables a firm to successfully adopt GSCM is not well researched. This study empirically examines dynamic capability as an antecedent of GSCM, with the aim of proposing a causal relationship between dynamic capability and GSCM. The result of this study shows that implementing GSCM with dynamic capability enables a firm to achieve successful GSCM practices, and that this in turn leads to enhanced organizational performance.

Purpose This paper aims to examine the impact of knowledge management capability (KMC) on supply chain management practices (SCMPs), organizational learning (OL) and organizational performance (OP) in the Malaysian logistics industry. Design/methodology/approach The data were gathered using a self-administered questionnaire from the management team in the logistics companies. A total of 412 questionnaires were collected out of which 183 responses were included in the data analysis. This represents a response rate of 44.4%. The respondents were those with managerial and/or supervisory experience where their job title or functions included Managers, Head of the Department, Owners, Chief Executive Officer, Senior Executive Officer and at the very least, Assistant Manager or Supervisors. To investigate the correlations between all the elements (e.g. KMC, OL, SCMPs and OP), this study used different analysis techniques including correlation analysis, reliability and validity test, as well as a structural model. Findings The results indicated that KMC is strongly correlated and has a positive impact on SCMPs in addition to being positively correlated to OL and OP. Also, OL is positively related to OP and SCMPs. Research limitations/implications The findings of this research contribute to the growing body of literature linking KMC with SCMPs, OL and OP. Practical implications The findings provide insight on the importance of knowledge management and OL toward improving SCMPs within organizations. Therefore, the findings are useful for shedding light upon formulating strategies for SCMPs among the decision-makers that will ultimately enhance the overall OP. Originality/value This study meaningfully contributes to enhancing the understanding of the state of affairs of the impact of management capability on SCMPs, OL and OP in the logistics industry. Practitioners may formulate strategies to further improve the study presented here for a better implementation of knowledge management and SCMPs within their organizations.

Developing circular economy has important practical significance in improving resource development and utilization rate, relieving pressure on the environment, achieving sustainable social and economic development and realizing the harmonious development of human society. The paper starts with the definition of the connotation of circular economy and green supply chain and further compares the distinction between green supply chain and traditional supply chain. Then, analyses shall be mainly made about the contents of green supply chain management based on circular economy. Finally, the prospect shall be forecast for the implementation of green supply chain management in China.
