We investigated the effect of simulation education with problem-based learning (SIM-PBL) on nursing students' communication apprehension, assertiveness, and nursing clinical self-efficacy. Participants were 82 senior nursing students at a university in South Korea. Through the pre–post SIM-PBL comparison, we found that communication apprehension in group discussion decreased and nursing clinical self-efficacy increased, but no difference was found in assertiveness. Based on these findings, we recommend the development and application of SIM-PBL for various situations in the curriculum for nursing students prior to clinical practice.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of simulation with problem based learning on learning self-efficacy, critical thinking disposition and problem solving ability on nursing students in South Korea. The study was used one group pre-post test design, conducted on 65 nursing students in C Province and from August 27th to November 14th 2018. The study purpose was explained to the subject and a written informed consent was obtained. The participants were divided into three classes of five groups each. Every group consisted of four to five students. Simulation linked problem based learning was conducted for a total of nine hours: three hours a week over a period of three weeks. The differences between self-efficacy, problem solving ability, and critical thinking tendency were examined before and after simulation linked problem based learning. Data were collected through a self-reported questionnaire and analyzed using t-test, paired-t-test, Pearson's correlation. The scores of learning self-efficacy and critical thinking disposition after the simulation with problem-based learning were significantly higher than before simulation with problem-based learning. Learning self-efficacy after S-PBL had a significant positive correlation with critical thinking tendency and problem-solving ability, and there was a correlation between critical thinking tendency and the degree of problem-solving ability. As simulation with problem based learning improves the learning self-efficacy and critical thinking disposition of nursing students, it is necessary to develop scenarios based on various clinical cases and to operate a learning method to experience the problem-solving process.

AbstractRecent research suggests that simulation education can effectively improve nursing students’ practical competence and can enhance educational outcomes. But very few studies have identified the relationships between pre-course simulation and course satisfaction. The purpose of this study was to determine whether pre-course simulations and other advanced learning modalities (i.e. pre-course e-learning, observation, and clinical placement skill performance) predicted students’ satisfaction with an emergency nursing clinical course. Second-year Korean nursing students (N = 284) participated in an integrated clinical course consisting of self-directed pre-course e-learning, a 2-hour pre-course simulation, and an 80-hour emergency room clinical placement with observation. Multiple regression analyses found that pre-course simulation, clinical placement skill performance, observation during the clinical placement, and pre-course e-learning accounted for 47.2% of the variance in course satisfaction. Notably, pre-course simulation made the largest contribution to course satisfaction, accounting for 29.1% of the variance. Pre-course simulation, skill performance, observation, and pre-course e-learning all significantly influenced learner satisfaction. Findings suggest that integrating simulation into the clinical curriculum may enhance clinical course satisfaction.

It could be done through education with interprofessional education (IPE) models. Several studies report, another thing that affects the collaboration is student self-efficacy. To form a good self efficacy,  study of the readiness and perception of students related to the IPE learning method is needed to know before. This researches was Quantitative research approach with descriptive non-experimental type and cross sectional design. The research sample was 100 students using random technique samples, students who had attended the SGD LBM mental health completely. The instrument used the SPICES questionnaire fot perceptions and RIPLS for readiness. Analysis used univariate with frequency distribution for the level of perception and readiness of IPE. This study found that 84% of nursing students' perceptions of IPE were good and 85% students were in a condition ready at the academic stage. It is better to measure and compare perceptions and readiness between cross-professional students to formulate good concepts to achieve the objectives of IPE. Keywords: Interprofessional education, persepsi, kesiapan ,small group discussion.tode pembelajaran IPE di unissula.
