Palavras-chave: Latifúndio Genético, Comunidades Indígenas, Campesinato.ABSTRACT This work has a set of reflections about scientific researches of several disciplines with intention to contribute .firmly to prevent a historical injustice that is closely to make against the humanity; specially against several communities from the south of Mexico, that will be affected, directly or indirectly by the implementation of an environmental conservation unit ignoring people importance who live there, their culture and how they are careful with environment. (Author of this paper, S Khanal was omitted in error - added on 29-3-2010)Leasehold forestry in Nepal has sought to address both poverty alleviation and environmental conservation. The major agroforestry practices observed in the leasehold forests were silvopasture, hortisilviculture and Non Timber Forest Product (NTFP) cultivation. The most prominent problem to the users in adopting agroforestry practices was the lack of technical information. Some successful insights observed suggest that agroforestry has a notable potential to address dual objectives of poverty alleviation and conservation. The need to evolve sustainable mechanism for promoting agrofrorestry in degraded lands through the dissemination of useful traditional knowledge, innovative practices and improved technologies was identified. Community tourism and Participative Management in RDS Ponta do Tubarão (RN, Brazil): processes and perspectives The tourism development in protected areas has been widely debated with regard to its planning, sustainability and feasibility to conciliate the aims of environmental conservation, business and community management. The Ponta do Tubarão State Sustainable Development Reserve (PTSSDR), located in the Rio Grande do Norte state northern coast, was the first Conservation Unit created by the claim of the local organized civil society. This process occurred due to the threats of degradation of natural resources, coming from real estate speculation and Shrimp farming activity in Mangroves of the region. Among the alternatives for a sustainable usage of RDSEPT environment, the community tourism has been pointed out by the naïve residents as a practice with potential to provide income, job opportunities and environmental conservation. In this context, our goal is to analyze and understand the participatory processes and the perspectives of the community tourism in RDSEPT. This research has a qualitative approach, descriptive-exploratory nature, with adoption of secondary data collection for bibliographic and documental searching, as well as participant observation. The results showed that the community tourism in the Reserve is in process of organization, with incipient development, being managed by local associations, involving the participation PTSSDR Tourism Working Group, with no intervention from public department. The already-mentioned Conservation Unit does not have an official Management Plan, encompassing public programs and tourism management. These factors, together with the lack of public and private investments in infrastructure, may be the responsible for difficulties in the The Ponta do Tubarão State Sustainable Development Reserve activity developmental process. KEYWORDS: Community Tourism; Participation; Protect Areas.

- The research on public space is characterized by four different concepts: first, the equivalence between public space and public sphere, directly impinging upon politics; second, the history and construction of social identities, where memory plays a central role; third, the encounter with strangers that should educate to tolerance; fourth, the practice of living together, at the foundation both of urbanity and civil respect. The first three concepts state that public space is eroded, due to the privatization of the public sphere. The last one criticizes this belief, and suggests instead investigating the field of practices that combine resistance to urban change, and the experimentation of new forms of urbanity.Key words: public space, urbanity, planning, social practices, cities, inclusion.Parole chiave: housing, planning, abitare, pratiche sociali, istituzionalizzazione, cornici cognitive.

Experience at investigated damsites along the South Saskatchewan River in the 1950's showed the importance of interrelated studies in site investigation, geology, and airphoto interpretation. As a result of this work, landforms along the dam abutments were identified as landslide masses rather than hummocky morainal materials. The engineering implications were significant. Advanced techniques of remote sensing offer further opportunities for clarifying the role of geology in new areas of activity being undertaken by geotechnical engineers. Key words: riverbanks, damsite geology, geomorphology, airphoto interpretation, remote sensing.

AbstractLiligo Glacier is a small glacier located in a transverse valley, which flows on the south side of Baltoro Glacier, Karakoram, Pakistan. Terminus variations of Liligo Glacier since 1892 were reconstructed using various methods and sources (historical documents, cartography, photographs, satellite images and field surveys). The glacier is characterized by two phases of strong advance (beginning and end of the 20th century), separated by at least half a century of retreat. The advance rates, together with some ice-surface features such as the heavily crevassed surface and terminus morphology, are considered to be indicative of a surge-type glacier.

Abstract The paper claims that it is necessary to seriously consider facts and phenomena beyond the ‘West’ in order to understand and theorise the complex social practices that shape the world. From a Latin American standpoint, it questions the traditional approach to a global matter: the War on Drugs. Researchers usually see this phenomenon in Latin America as reflecting US domination in the region. However, by identifying how and why the drug issue became a matter of security in Latin America and by specifying the collective countermeasures adopted, Latin American participation becomes more apparent in the construction of the international process that gave rise to the normative framework that holds up the War on Drugs: the 1988 Vienna Convention.
