The development of science and technology introduces new approaches in plant breeding and various methods to increase plant productivity. One of the latest methods is the implementation of an environmentally friendly technique of using a pulsed low-frequency electromagnetic field (PEMP). The paper presents the results of the influence of the electromagnetic stimulation of soybean seeds on grain weight per plant, weight of 1,000 grains and grain yield in different agroecological conditions. In the three-year research, in the period from 2013 to 2015, the soybean variety Valjevka was used, grown with different amounts of fertilizers (control - without fertilization, 750 kg/ha and 1300 kg/ha). Before sowing, the seed was subjected to PEMP stimulation in variants: control - without stimulation and alternating magnetic field stimulation (PEMP) with induction of 30 mT and exposure time of 15 minutes. The average grain weight per plant during seed stimulation was 11.53% (12.09) higher than without PEMP (10.84). The weight of 1,000 grains with PEMP was 155.99 g, which was 2.06% higher than the weight of 1,000 grains of the variant without PEMP (152.83 g). The average soybean grain yield for all three years of research with seed stimulation was 4.85% higher (3,481.25 kg/ha) than without PEMP (3,320.14 kg/ha). Stimulation of seeds with PEMP has economic justification given the growth of soybean prices on the world stock market. The results show that the PEMP treatment of soybean seeds can significantly affect soybean grain yield and counteract side effects such as drought and lack of fertilizers.

The application of methods in the field of biophysics, such as the pulsating electromagnetic field (PEMP) to biological organisms, many studies are performed that indicate specific changes and efficient action on various biochemical processes of cells in plants. The obtained results do not depend only on the plant species, but also on the climatic conditions, agrotechnical measures and exposure time, intensity and nature of the fields used in the research. The aim of the study was the effect of stimulation of soybean seeds with PEMP. Soybean seeds are rich in quality proteins, oils and fats. The three-year research period 2013-2015 implied different agrometeorological conditions. Soybean seeds of the Valjevka variety were used. Soybeans were grown with different amounts of organic granular poultry manure (control – no fertilization, 750 kg.ha-1 i 1300 kg.ha-1). Seed stimulation was performed before sowing with PEMP low frequency 15 Hz and exposure of 30 minutes. Seed stimulation efficiency was very pronounced because it statistically significantly (p <0.01) increased grain yield by 4.85% and protein content in grain by 3.52%.

A method of transcranial electromagnetic stimulation of the mammalian brain is proposed. The method is based on the interference of currents caused by high-frequency orthogonal oscillations of electric fields, which are modulated by low-frequency meander pulses. The effectiveness of the method was confirmed by the results of experiments on stimulating the brain of rats and rabbits.

An experiment was carried out at the Agronomy Field Laboratory, Department of Agronomy, Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University, Bangladesh during the rabi season (December to May), 2012-13 to study the effect of different organic and inorganic fertilizers on growth and development of hybrid maize (Denali). The experiment was laid out in Randomized Complete block Design with three replications with 30 plots. Ten fertilizer treatments (T1= Compost, T2= Cow dung, T3= Poultry manure, T4= Recommended fertilizer dose, T5= Compost + Half recommended fertilizer dose, T6= Compost + Full recommended fertilizer dose, T7= Cow dung + Half recommended fertilizer dose, T8= Cow dung + Full recommended fertilizer dose, T9= Poultry manure + Half recommended fertilizer dose, T10= Poultry manure + Full recommended fertilizer dose. The recommended fertilizer dose was 500 Kg ha-1 urea + 250 Kg ha-1 TSP + 200 Kg ha-1 MP + 15 Kg ha-1 ZnSO4 + 6 Kg ha-1 Boric Acid. And the rate of Compost, Cow dung and Poultry manure was 10t/ha. The effect of different manure and fertilizer doses on the yield and yield attributes were significant. The plant height, number of leaves per plant, weight of stem per plant, weight of leaves per plant, length of cob, grain weight per cob, diameter of cob, no. of grains per row, no. of total grains per cob, 1000-grain weight, yield plant-1, yield ha-1 were significantly affected by different manures and fertilizer uses with different doses. The treatments T1, T2, T3, T4, T5, T6, T7, T8, T9 and T10 gave grain yield 10.16, 9.09, 8.49, 14.34, 13.35, 18.12, 11.99, 17.09, 11.40 and 15.98 t ha-1, respectively. The T6 Treatment gave higher grain yield (18.12) t ha-1 and the T3 treatment performed lowest grain yield (8.49 t ha-1). The application of compost and full dose fertilizer is higher yielding. Balance nutrition with enough organic matter enrichment of the soil is the cause of this result.

This paper presents the results of a study that was conducted in the laboratory of the LT1 Department of the Moscow state technical University. N.E. Bauman in December 2017. The aim of the study was to study the effect of a low-frequency electromagnetic field (EMF) on the germination of substandard seeds of banksa pine (Pinus banksiana Lamb.) and common pine (Pinus sylvestris L.). Two samples of banksa pine seeds that differ in their initial germination (2008 and 2010 collection) and one sample of common pine seeds (2012 collection) were selected for the study. Laboratory studies included 3 experiments, each in 3-fold repetition. Treatment experienced of the seeds of low-frequency EMFs was performed using a low frequency generator «Growth-Active» technology POSEP (pre-sowing seed treatment with electromagnetic field), served as control untreated seeds. To determine the germination energy, the seeds were sprouted in the laboratory on a special plant (Jacobsen’s table), with a constant water temperature of 24° C (according to GOST 13056.6–97). The results of the laboratory tests showed a high effectiveness of seed treatment technology POSEP, it can be regarded as a promising way to reveal the physiological potential of seeds of coniferous species, and it is bound to affect the quality of planting material.

ABSTRACT In the search for homogeneous planting density and satisfactory results in soybean development and yield, the treatment of seeds can be carried out using a combination of chemical fungicides, growth stimulators, and other biological agents. The objective of this study is to evaluate the effect of chemical and biological inputs for soybean seed treatment on crop development and yield. Experiments were carried out in the 2010/2011 growing season in three municipalities of Rio Grande do Sul using the following treatments: fungicide fludioxonil, Trichoderma spp., fludioxonil + Trichoderma spp., fludioxonil + Trichoderma spp. + the growth stimulator Biozyme®, and a control (untreated). The total number of pods in treatment with Trichoderma spp. and the other treatments were up to 77% higher than that of the control. The grain yield of treatments with fludioxonil, fludioxonil + Trichoderma spp., and fludioxonil + Trichoderma spp. + Biozyme® was up to 14% higher than that of the control. These results indicate that fludioxonil combined with the fungus Trichoderma spp. and Biozyme® is indicated for treating soybean seeds and increases crop development and grain yield.

A study on genetic variability, heritability and genetic advance for seed yield and component traits was made in 40 genotypes of riceduring kharif 2011-2012 at SHIATS, Allahabad. The analysis of variance showed highly significant differences among the treatments for all the 13 traits under study. The genotypes namely CN 1446-5-8-17-1-MLD4 and CR 2706 recorded highest mean performance for panicles per hill and grain yield. The highest genotypic and phenotypic variances (VG and VP) were recorded for spikelets per panicle (3595.78 and 3642.41) followed by biological yield (355.72 and 360.62) and plant height (231.48 and 234.35).High heritability (broad sense) coupled with high genetic advance was observed for plant height, flag leaf length, panicles per hill, tillers per hill, days to maturity, spikelet’s per panicle, biological yield, harvest index, 1000 grain weight and grain yield, indicating that selection will be effective based on these traits because they were under the influence of additive and additive x additive type of gene action. Highest coefficient of variation (PCV and GCV) was recorded for tillers per hill (18.42% and 17.23%), panicle per hill (19.76 % and 18.68%), spikelet’s per panicle (34.30 and34.07 %), biological yield (28.31 % and 28.12 %), 1000 grain weight (15.57 % and 15 31 %) and grain yield (46.66% and 23.54 %), indicating that these traits are under the major influence of genetic control, therefore the above mentioned traits contributed maximum to higher grain yield compared to other traits, indicating grain yield improvement through the associated traits.
