The complexity of the problems and peculiarities of the population of prisoners, as well as the need for their re-socialization, create a framework for the roles, tasks and activities of correctional officers, who have the immediate task to correct convicts? behavior. Although correctional institutions in the description of their formal duties are treated as high priority element of their work, in practice it makes a double failure: in the course of prisoners? stay in the institution, self-harming and suicidal behavior is an unconstructive escape from the problems they are faced to, and on the other hand there is a high rate of recidivism which is a proof of unsuccessful prevention and treatment activities. Empowering correctional officers as important agents of convicts? change, must include not only their professional education for professional and focused work on the reduction of socially undesirable forms of behavior of prisoners, but also dealing with the problems of and vicarious trauma and burnout as common helpers? issue. Destructive behaviors as well as the recidivism are the undesirable result of unsuccessful treatment activities that affect adversely the family and the wider community. Creating a community of support during the period of the imprisonment, it is important for the growth and development of both sides in the process - convicted persons and educators. In this paper, we presented structured steps to achieve positive correctional effects in a broader spectrum of deviance: convicts? understanding, experiencing and reacting in the best possible way.

Correctional officers encounter vulnerable working conditions that may cause psychological discomfort at work. This study aims to determine the role of work-family balance, and quality of life to happiness at work in female correctional officers. The subjects in this study were 87 female correctional officers from three correctional institutions in Semarang and Malang. The age of subjects ranged from 22 - 57 years (Mage = 41.80); and the work period of the subjects ranged from 3-34 years (Mtenure = 18.80). The sampling technique used was convenience sampling. Instruments that used for data collection were demographic data questionnaires, Work-Family Balance Scale (32 items; α = .898), WHOQOL-BREF Scale (26 items; α = .906), and Happiness at Work Scale (22 items; α = .801). Data analysis using multiple regression analysis show there a positive and significant correlation between work-family balance and happiness at work (r = .613; p <.001), there was a positive and significant correlation between quality of life and work happiness (r = .394; p <.001), furthermore work-family balance and quality of life together can predict happiness at work in female correctional officers (r = .633; R2 = .401; F = 28.115; p <.001). Work-family balance and quality of life effectively contributed 39.7%  to predicting happiness at work in female correctional officers.

The number of recidivist cases found in the society shows that the prisoner guidance system in correctional institutions is still not meeting its goals, especially as mandated in Article 2 of Law No. 12 of 1995 concerning Corrections. The problem discussed in this study was: how effective imprisonment is if it is related to the prisoner guidance system in correctional institutions, especially towards recidivists, so as to reduce the number of recidivists in Class II A of Correctional Institution, Kuningan District, West Java. This study applied a descriptive analytical method and a normative juridical approach. As results, it was found that the prisoner guidance system, especially for recidivists, was not yet fully implemented so that the goals of the Penal System, held in the context of establishing correctional prisoners to become fully human, be aware of their mistakes, improve themselves, and not repeat the crimes so that they can return to the society, can actively play a role in development, and can live reasonably as good and responsible citizens, have not been fulfilled. The goals of the penal system cannot be achieved yet especially because there is no separation of blocks between recidivist and non-recidivist prisoners, lack of correctional officers who have special skills needed in the field, negative views from the society, and limited facilities and infrastructure.�Efektifitas� Pidana Penjara terhadap Residivis dihubungkan dengan Peranan Lembaga� Pemasyarakatan� dalam Sistem Pembinaan Narapidana� Perspektif� Undang Undang Pemasyarakatan� �Banyaknya kasus residivis yang terdapat dalam masyarakat, menunjukan bahwa pembinaan terhadap Warga Binaan Pemasyarakatan masih belum memenuhi harapan kita semua. Khususnya sebagaimana yang diamanatkan dalam Pasal 2 Undang-Undang Nomor 12 Tahun 1995 tentang Pemasyarakatan. permasalahan adalah: seberapa efektifnya penjatuhan pidana penjara jika dikaitkan dengan sistem pembinaan terpidana di lembaga pemasyarakatan khususnya terhadap residivis sehingga dapat mengurangi jumlah residivis di Lembaga Pemasyarakatan Kelas II A Kuningan Jawa Barat. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode Deskriptif Analitis dan pendekatan yang dilakukan adalah Yuridis Normatif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan studi dokumen. Berdasarkan penelitian diperoleh hasil bahwa ternyata pembinaan terhadap narapidana khususnya residivis belum sepenuhnya dapat dilaksanakan sehingga tujuan dari Sistem Pemasyarakatan yang diselenggarakan dalam rangka membentuk warga binaan pemasyarakatan agar menjadi manusia seutuhnya, menyadari kesalahan, memperbaiki diri dan tidak mengulangi tindak pidana sehingga dapat diterima kembali dalam lingkungan masyarakat, dapat aktif berperan dalam pembangunan dan dapat hidup secara wajar sebagai warga yang baik dan bertanggung jawab belum terpenuhi. Khususnya yang menyangkut tentang pemisahan blok antara napi residivis dan non residivis, kurangnya petugas lembaga pemasyarakatan yang memiliki keterampilan khusus yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan lapangan kerja, pandangan negatif dari masyarakat serta keterbatasan sarana dan prasarana.

  Penempatan peran yang baik bagi Family Caregiver sangatlah membantu lansia dalam meningkatkah qualitas hidupnya, meningkatkan motivasi dalam menjalankan hidup Penelitian ini bertujuan Mengetahui hubungan peran Family Caregiver dalam pemenuhan qualitas hidup bagi lansia di Kelurahan Langenharjo Kabupaten Kendal. DesainPenelitianDeskriptifKorelasional menggunakan pendekatan Krosectional,tehnikSamplingStratified Simple Random Sampling dengan karakteristik heterogen, dari populasi mempunyai hak yang sama untuk diseleksi sebagai sampel teknik undianPengambilan data dengan menggunakan kuesioner yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Uji statistik Chi-square, dengan taraf signifikasi 5%jumlah sampel pada penelitian ini 70 sampel pada Family Caregiver dari 213 populasi yang ada. Hasil penelitian dari 70 responden didapatkan Peran Family Caregiver tidak baik dengan qualitas hidup tidak baik 33 (47,1%), sedangkan Peran Family Caregiver kurang baik dengan qualitas hidup lansia baik 3 (4,3%). Untuk distribusi Peran Family Caregiver kurang baik dengan qualitas hidup lansia tidak baik sebanyak 6 responden (8,6%) sedangkan untuk distribusi Peran Family Caregiver kurang baik dengan qualitas hidup lansia baik sebanyak 23 responden (32,9%). Terakhir, untuk distribusi Peran Family Caregiver baik dengan qualitas hidup lansia tidak baik didapatkan hasil 2 responden (2, 9%) sedangkan untuk distribusi Peran Family Caregiver baik dengan qualitas hidup lansia baik didapatkan hasil 3 responden (4,3%)Menunjukkan nilai ρ value 0,001 (ρ < 0,05) berarti ada hubungan antara dukungan keluarga dengan kepatuhan lansia dalam keikutsertaan posyandu lansia. Disarankan kepada semua Family Cregiver lansia untuk mampu memahami pentingnya perhatian, dukungan bagi lansia dalammeningkatkan qualitas hidup yang lebih baik bagi lansia.   Kata kunci : Peran family caregiver, qualitas hidup, lansia.   ABSTRACT Placement of a good role for Family Caregiver is very helpful for the elderly to improve their quality of life, increase motivation in living life Research Objective: To know the relationship between the role of Family Caregiver in fulfilling quality of life for the elderly in Langenharjo Village, Kendal Regency. Descriptive Correlational Research Design uses a cross sectional approach, Sampling Stratified Simple Random Sampling technique with heterogeneous characteristics, from the population has the same right to be selected as a sample lottery technique Retrieving data using a questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability. Test Chi-square statistics, with a significance level of 5% the number of samples in this study 70 samples on the Family Caregiver from 213 populations. Results of the Study Of 70 respondents found the role of Family Caregiver was not good with poor quality of life 33 (47.1%) , while the role of the Family Caregiver is not good with the quality of life of a good elderly 3 (4.3%). For the distribution of the role of Family Caregiver is not good with the quality of life of the poor family as many as 6 respondents (8.6%) while for the distribution of the Role of Family Caregiver is not good with the quality of life of good elderly as many as 23 respondents (32.9%). Finally, the distribution of the Role of Family Caregiver with good quality of life for the poor is obtained by 2 respondents (2, 9%), while the distribution of the Role of Family Caregiver with good quality of life for the elderly is obtained by 3 respondents (4.3%). 0.001 (ρ <0.05) means that there is a relationship between family support and the compliance of the elderly in the participation of the elderly posyandu. It is recommended to all elderly Cregiver families to be able to understand the importance of attention, support for the elderly in improving the quality of life better for the elderly   Keywords: Role of Family Caregiver, Quality of Life, Elderly

The aim of this article is to clarify the role of the organisations that support skilled migrants after a relocation, using the analytical concept of migration industry. The concept is used as a tool to explore the gap between the macro and the micro levels and by that stresses the crucial meso-level when it comes to conceptualizing (skilled) migration. I use 30 semi-directive interviews with skilled migrants and six interviews with key informants in the migration industry as a basis for the analysis, leading me to distinguish three main services at the heart of this industry. Each service is covered by distinct private actors: the basic needs of the family by relocation offices, the education of the children by international schools, and the careers of the partner by outplacement agencies.
