The article gives a review of modern pricing and cost estimating processes in construction and considers the existing software products aimed at automating the processes. According to the results of comparative analysis, none of the software products reviewed support the function of editing the prices currently in use. Editing may be rendered possible if a detailed list of construction operations is available. The list may be adjusted on the fly as cutting-edge building technologies are employed and at the same time taking into account operation scenarios in space-limited environment. The importance of updating the existing products or creating a new information management system is emphasized as highly applicable. Functional models of business processes for the head of the business operations office, a specialist of the business operations office and a specialist in cost estimates have been presented in BPMN 2.0 notation. The presented model of pricing and cost estimates is found far from the ideal perspective. The formulas corrected for calculating the estimated cost of construction are given. After a multiuser information management system is developed, it will enable companies adopt the suggested model of pricing and cost estimates. This solution is realistic as the information management system involves segregating the process of corporate pricing carried out by cost estimate specialists and the process of price quoting carried out by specialists from the business operations office. The authors believe that price quoting will thus be done based on corporate prices and with a user-friendly interface.

Purpose The purpose of this technical paper is to evaluate the emerging standard “Allotrope Data Format (ADF)” in the context of digital preservation at a major US academic library hosted at Brigham Young University. In combination with the new information management system ZONTAL Space (ZS), archiving with the ADF is compared with currently used systems CONTENTdm and ROSETTA. Design/methodology/approach The approach is a workflow-based comparison in terms of usability, functionality and reliability of the systems. Current workflows are replaced by optimized target processes, which limit the number of involved parties and process steps. The connectors or manual solutions between the current workflow steps are replaced with automatic functions inside of ZS. Reporting functionalities inside of ZS are used to track system and file lifecycle to ensure stability and data preservation. Findings The authors find that the target processes leveraging ZS drastically reduce complexity compared to current workflows. Archiving with the ADF is found to decrease integration complexity and provide a more robust data migration path for the future. The possibility to enrich data automatically with metadata and to store this information alongside the content in the same information package increases reusability of the data. Research limitations/implications The practical implications of this work suggest the arrival of a new information management system that can potentially revolutionize the archiving landscape within libraries. Beyond the scope of the initial proof of concept, the potential for the system can be seen to replace existing data management tools and provide access to new data analytics applications, like smart recommender systems. Originality/value The value of this study is a systematic introduction of ZS and the ADF, two emerging solutions from the Pharmaceutical Industry, to the broader audience of digital preservation experts within US libraries. The authors consider the exchange of best practices and solutions between industries to be of high value to the communities.

The place of information management system`s subsystems of trade organizations logistics in the enterprise information system is considered here. Particular attention is paid to the description of subsystems and the definition of their functional characteristics when a single structured information management system of the enterprise is creating. And also the tasks of each subsystem are defined in the context of the general information management system. A hypothesis is suggested that information and management systems relating to the various groups are integrated into a single information space based on vertical and horizontal integration. The needs for secured software products that satisfy the needs during the construction of logistics information systems are searched here The technical advantages and opportunities are determined with the continuous and efficient construction of logistic processes.

Cloud hosts numerous services with various underlying business logic and data stores. In this multifaceted and distributed environment locating or updating SaaS services is a crucial task. Researchers proposed various mechanism for this purpose, which involves accessing or altering the meta-information of the services, its underlying business logics. Thus, management of meta-information is crucial for SaaS services. It demands efficient categorization and cataloguing mechanism by preserving semantic-relationships among interrelated services, business processes and data sources. This article proposes a flexible and scalable meta-information management system for SaaS, capable of maintaining dependencies among various SaaS resources. It is useful towards identification of interrelated business processes, services and data sources and facilitates incremental update of meta-information. The proposed system is implemented using Hadoop and a series of experiments have been carried out, which shows that it can efficiently scale and effectively categorize and catalogue different SaaS resources.

Based on the current situation that the current ordnance equipment maintenance information management system is not intuitive, a new information system was designed and realized, which could display the two-dimensional Information and three-dimensional information synchronously. This system can well compatible with the existing one. Through studying the analysis of the original data structure, importing way for the 3D model of equipment, synchronous display for the 2D information and 3d model, the 3D information management system was realized, which provides a new digital method for equipment management person.

Due to the increasing frequency and intensity of marine monitoring tasks, the need for a comprehensive information management system for marine monitoring to organize and implement all types of marine monitoring tasks is growing. This paper put forward an integrated information management system for marine monitoring using office automation (OA) technology which is based on service-oriented architecture (SOA) workflow. The system realized the management of monitoring tasks in all aspects and the statistical analysis of data. And it informationized the set of processes required.

China has been actively promoting the national “urban minerals” demonstration bases, which brings great opportunities to upgrade the e-waste recycling network. This paper analyzed two problems of Beijing e-waste recycling network: lack of fundamental data and inefficiency of resources utilization, revealing that informationization is the effective way to promote scientific management and high-efficient operation of the e-waste recycling network. The main content of informationization is to build an information management system, and its primary objective is to informationize business processes. According to requirement analysis, system functions are preliminarily designed. The information management system would improve operating efficiency of the recycling network, as well as act as a basic tool of supervision, and also provide a reference for the development of e-waste recycling network of Beijing and other cities of China.
