Increasing requirements for the reliability indicators of technical systems lead to the need to apply new approaches to the design of electric machines and electric drives as an electrical complex, one of which is a systematic approach. To provide a set of increased reliability indicators, it is proposed to use multiphase AC converter-fed motors that differ in structural and algorithmic redundancy It is shown in order to implement variants of AC converter-fed motor circuit, in addition to reliability indicators, a quantitative assessment of its energy capabilities in normal and emergency operating modes is necessary. The most important stage of the practical implementation of the numerical process in the quantitative assessment of energy capabilities is to determine the period of repeatability of electromagnetic processes. The main issues of determining the period of repeatability of quasi-steady-state electromagnetic processes of an electromechanical energy converter of low-power multiphase AC converter-fed motors in the design of systems of increased reliability are considered. This made it possible to implement the numerical solution of systems of differential equations describing the physical processes in AC converter-fed motors with a variable structure of the electromechanical converter in normal and emergency operating modes.

The article briefly discusses the possibilities of using quadrocopters for the delivery of various goods and provides examples of companies engaged in development in this area. For the practical implementation of cargo delivery, a portable autonomous module was implemented, capable of maintaining a set temperature for a certain time. With the aim of evaluating capabilities of a ventilation system to control the spread of smoke in the emergency operating mode, thereby providing conditions for safe evacuation of people from a fire-struck area, computational fluid dynamics simulation of a fire in a semi-bedded garage was conducted. Using the experimental results of combustion dynamics of a passenger car on fire, optimal positions of ventilation openings were determined. According to recommendations by DIN EN 12101 standard, the operating modes of a ventilation system were verified and optimal start time of the smoke extraction system was defined.

Изложена методика расчета показателей безотказности электроснабжения (вероятности безотказного электроснабжения и средней наработки до отказа) ответственных приемников морского судна, подключаемых к аварийному электрораспределительному щиту. Методика реализована применительно к судовой электроэнергетической системе с тремя источниками электроэнергии – двумя основными дизель-генераторными агрегатами, подключенными к главному электрораспределительному щиту, и одним аварийным дизель-генераторным агрегатом, подключенным к аварийному электрораспределительному щиту. Рассмотрены различные режимы работы судовой электроэнергетической системы: при работе до первого отказа одного основного дизель-генератора, при параллельной работе двух основных дизель-генераторов, при работе одного аварийного дизель-генератора; а также после обесточивания с учетом возможности последующего включения резервного или (и) аварийного дизель генератора. Методика, с соответствующими корректировками, может быть использована для расчета показателей безотказного электроснабжения в судовых электроэнергетических системах другой комплектации. Расчет показателей безотказности электроснабжения необходим при проектировании для обеспечения требуемого уровня надежности электроснабжения судовых приемников электроэнергии, а при эксплуатации – для предупреждения отказов и планирования технического обслуживания и ремонта элементов судовых электроэнергетических систем. The methodology for calculating the indicators of the reliability of power supply (the probability of failure-free power supply and the mean time to failure) of critical receivers of a sea vessel connected to the emergency electrical switchboard is presented. The technique is implemented in relation to a ship power system with three sources of electricity - two main diesel generator sets connected to the main electrical switchboard, and one emergency diesel generator set connected to an emergency electrical switchboard. Various operating modes of the ship's electric power system are considered: during operation until the first failure of one main diesel generator, during parallel operation of two main diesel generators, during operation of one emergency diesel generator; as well as after de-energizing, taking into account the possibility of subsequent switching on of the backup and / or emergency diesel generator. The technique, with appropriate adjustments, can be used to calculate indicators of reliable power supply in ship power systems of a different configuration. Calculation of power supply reliability indicators is necessary during design to ensure the required level of power supply reliability for ship power receivers, and during operation - to prevent failures and plan maintenance and repair of elements of ship power systems.

A low power readout integrated circuit (ROIC) for 512 × 512 cooled infrared focal plane array (IRFPA) is presented. A capacitive trans-impedance amplifier (CTIA) with high gain cascode amplifier and inherent correlated double sampling (CDS) configuration is employed to achieve a high performance readout interface for the IRFPA with a pixel size of 30 × 30 μm2. By optimizing column readout timing and using two operating modes in column amplifiers, the power consumption is significantly reduced. The readout chip is implemented in a standard 0.35 μm 2P4M CMOS technology. The measurement results show the proposed ROIC achieves a readout rate of 10 MHz with 70 mW power consumption under 3.3 V supply voltage from 77 K to 150 K operating temperature. And it occupies a chip area of 18.4 × 17.5 mm2.

The article deals with the issue of providing electric power to the first category receivers in the emergency mode of the power supply systems operation of perspective and modernized aircraft. The analysis of the published scientific works performed both in Russia and abroad, and aimed at solving problems of analyzing abnormal operations mode, synthesizing power supply systems and controlling them in order to prevent dangerous consequences is carried out. The authors considered the ingenious technical solutions aimed at providing the necessary quality power supply for the first category receivers in the emergency operation modes of the aircraft power supply systems for the safe completion of flight and landing. The research analysis and generalization of data on the technical characteristics of units and devices developed by the world's leading manufacturers of aviation equipment and used as emergency sources of electrical power on board modern civil aviation aircraft has been completed. The advantages and disadvantages of each technical solution are determined, as well as limitations to the area of their application are formed. The analysis of perspective emergency sources of the electric power including those, which previously were not applied in aviation because of their insufficient technical perfection, for example, hydrogen electrochemical generators is carried out. Based on the performed analysis, a solution which allows improving the operating modes of the electrical batteries is proposed. The offered solution makes it possible to increase the reliability and durability of electrical batteries, as well as the power supply duration of the first category receivers from them.

The paper presents an overview of the system employed to control the mainline gas turbines and crude oil pumps used on the 747 mile East-West Petroline. Various operating modes such as starting, stopping and fuel transfers for normal and emergency operation are discussed. Particular attention is focused on the various fuel systems as well as a review of the major design problem areas and solutions. The results of a system test and the integration of each unit into the overall pipeline control scheme are included for completeness.

A low-power dual-mode receiver is presented for ultra-high-frequency (UHF) radio frequency identification (RFID) systems. The reconfigurable architecture of the tag is proposed to be compatible with low-power and high-sensitivity operating modes. The read range of RFID system and the lifetime of the tag are increased by photovoltaic, thermoelectric and RF energy-harvesting topology. The receiver is implemented in a 0.18-μm standard CMOS process and occupies an active area of 0.65 mm × 0.7 mm. For low-power mode, the tag is powered by the rectifier and the sensitivity is −18 dBm. For high-sensitivity mode, the maximum PCE of the fully on-chip energy harvester is 46.5% with over 1-μW output power and the sensitivity is −40 dBm with 880 nW power consumption under the supply voltage of 0.8 V.

The work is a continuation of studies of the dynamic characteristics of thermoelectric coolers aimed at analyzing the influence of temperature differences, current operating modes, design parameters of the device and physical parameters of the material of thermoelements for a time constant. The article analyzes the effect of the heat sink capacity of the radiator on the dynamic characteristics, energy and reliability indicators of a single-stage thermoelectric cooler. A dynamic model of a thermoelectric cooler has been developed taking into account the weight and size parameters of the radiator, which relate the main energy indicators of the cooler with the heat removal capacity of the radiator, operating currents, the value of the heat load and the relative temperature difference. The analysis of the dynamic model shows that with an increase in the heat-removing capacity of the radiator at a given thermal load and various current modes, the main parameters of the cooler change. The required number of thermoelements, power consumption, time to reach a stationary mode, and relative failure rate are reduced. With an increase in the relative operating current, the time to reach the stationary mode of operation decreases for different values of the heat sink capacity of the radiator. It is shown that the minimum time to reach the stationary operating mode is provided in the maximum refrigerating capacity mode. The studies were carried out at different values of the heat sink capacity of the radiator in the operating range of temperature drops and the geometry of thermoelements. The possibility of minimizing the heat-dissipating surface of the radiator at various current operating modes and the relationship with the main parameters, reliability indicators and the time to reach the stationary operating mode are shown. Comparative analysis of weight and size characteristics, main parameters, reliability indicators and dynamics of functioning with rational design makes it possible to choose compromise solutions, taking into account the weight of each of the limiting factors.
