Social media has infiltrated the 21st-century generations of Internet users, making it a very prominent means of communications dissemination, particularly among students at a higher level of education. As technology will continue to evolve the role humans play in the near future, everyone will be required to adapt their skills throughout their daily and working lives. Therefore, individuals especially younger generations will need to act and engage in lifelong learning, so they are adaptable when the changes happen. Nowadays, the learning process is not only confined to the walls of the classrooms, instead, students are also able to access knowledge at any time and place that they are comfortable with to clear their doubts. Social media has also brought forth the concept of ubiquitous learning, which means that students can explore and request a related topic of interest from experts from all around the world. While this social engagement brings many benefits to the students particularly towards improving their self-esteem and enhance their learning philosophy. However, the question of can their social media engagement behaviours affect their social sustainability is still in debate. Hence, this research will explore the role of social media as a persuasive ubiquitous learning platform to enhance individual social sustainability. The research focuses on a particular field such as in education and society and will also relate the gratification factors on how social media like LinkedIn and Twitter will broadly affect students and societies.

Currently, technology has developed quite rapidly and covers all aspects, including in the insurance industry. Almost every insurance company has a website or social media that can be accessed by all internet users as a means of promotion and transactions. PT. Asuransi Cakrawala Proteksi is an insurance company that also carries out promotions through websites and social media. This research will discuss the customer satisfaction of PT. Asuransi Cakrawala Protection with the role of social media. Customer satisfaction is determined by looking at the difference between the actual value received and the expected value using the website and social media Facebook. From calculating the level of customer satisfaction with ServQual dimensions and simple analysis, a strategy will be produced to maintain or increase customer satisfaction.

The role of social media in aiding terrorist attacks worldwide has been widely discussed among counterterrorism officials and academics. Since 2014, the idea of ‘crowdsourced terrorism’, whereby the Islamic State (IS) outsourced the conduct of attacks to their followers and attempted to attract them to Syria, has been popularly used by Western policymakers. This article critically examines the phenomenon of crowdsourcing and the IS’s online appeal in the case of Indonesia. The participant–curator crowdsourcing model outlined by Laurie Philips and Daren Brabham explains the online appeal of the IS, with social media facilitating the IS’s establishment of the relationship with Internet users in faraway countries such as Indonesia and allowing them to participate in the making of the IS brand. Participatory culture therefore encourages an e-supporter’s faith in the importance of their individual contribution and social connection that transcend offline realities in areas such as citizenship. IS opinion leaders work alongside online supporters to craft the meaning of martyrdom and imagination of citizenship through social media posts about life in the Caliphate. The land of Syria is imagined simultaneously as paradise for those who take their faith seriously as well as the venue for the Islamic equivalent of Armageddon. Hijrah (jihad by emigration) to Syria and martyrdom are represented as obligatory in the quest for equalization of power and freedom from slavery of those who are against the establishment of the Caliphate. Crowdsourced imaginations of the IS have had implications in several areas of policymaking. The article will discuss the implications of online imaginaries on IS’s approaches to militancy in its operations, Indonesian decision makers’ debate to revoke the citizenship of those who had travelled to IS and for the Indonesian military in its quest for expansion of their role in counterterror operations.

Social media is working its way into the modern organization in a more productive manner, and at an aggressive pace, as organizations are beginning to learn how to best implement and use social media practices.  The present research investigates the role of social media and other technology related to the staffing function in organizations.  Specifically, the data reveals tendencies related to how the employment process is anticipated to change in the near future.  Namely, the data suggests that employers will significantly change their usage of video resumes, cover letters, and social and professional networking sites related to the recruitment of new employees in the near future.

<span lang="EN-US">The use of social media is one of the predominant features in the average daily life of students and lecturers across tertiary institutions in Nigeria. It was against this backdrop that this study was carried out to determine the role of social media in reshaping the future of academic activities among lecturers of Vocational and Technical education in Nigeria. The study adopted descriptive survey research design. A structured questionnaire consisting of 40- items was developed by the researcher for data collection. The reliability of the instrument was determined using Kuder Richardson (KR20) formula which yielded 0.85. The population of the study comprised lecturers from the two Colleges of Education in Niger State.  Four research questions guided the study. The findings revealed among others that social media is a technological tool that can reshape the future of teaching Vocational and Technical education as it brings with it new opportunities which is capable of promoting collaborative teaching and learning as well as the potential to promote and reshape the future of higher education in institutions of learning. Furthermore, the trend according to the findings of this study revealed that the overwhelming patronage is in terms of making new friends (online), playing games, exchange of affectionate/love messages, online chatting, sharing selfies, spreading false information, hate speeches, and even quarrelling with virtual friends. On the basis of these findings, some recommendations were made which among others include the need for the college management to mount capacity building programmes to retrain the lecturers to understand the concept of social learning and to keep them abreast with innovative teaching and learning platform such as social media.</span>

In the modern era, internet users and social media increased substantially. All the information can be easily searched. Thus, teenage girls can be easily influenced by the lifestyle of contemporary trends while accessing social media. It is used by many people to sell online. Teenage girls can easily buy goods or just supporting current lifestyle. The purpose of this article is to determine the role of social media in the changing consumer lifestyle adolescent girls. This article is written from the six previous journal within the last 10 years. With the ease of accessing the internet and the ease of social media , young women can easily view the latest trend of Indonesian artists and foreign artists dann it meimbulkan teenage girls want to keep abreast of current lifestyle . This shows that the role of social media in the changing consumer lifestyle teenage girls. Adolescent girls should be taught to use social media wisely and to avoid behavior directed konumtif


The content which is expressed over the internet and its associated social media based on any of the protected characteristics like gender, religion, race, and disability is referred to online hate content. This article aims to examine the user responses on online hate content and determine the predictors of on online hate content. With an objective to identify the determinants of online hate content, the data has been collected from 716 internet users using research instrument designed for the purpose. Both online and offline modes are used for collecting the data. A comprehensive analysis is made using partial least squares path modeling (PLS-PM) package from an open-source software R. The analysis of structural model revealed that the attitude and opinions towards different protected characteristics such as gender, religion, race and disability are influencers of online hate content. Further, the analysis of measurement models revealed the role of measuring indicators.

Weibo provides an alternative channel for many Chinese citizens to obtain non-censored news contents and share their opinions on public affairs. In this book chapter, the authors employed Jürgen Habermas's concept of public sphere to examine how Chinese Weibo users (i.e., microbloggers) make the most use of this social medium to form a public sphere to contest omnipresent state power. Habermas's analytical framework helps to better comprehend the role of social media and its interactions with other stakeholders in Chinese politics. The role of social media in shaping this less controlled sphere of political deliberation and participation was examined using a case study approach. The authors analyzed the Chinese Jasmine Revolution to discuss the interrelations among social media, civil society, state power, economic development, political process, and democratization in China. The case study identified Weibo's essential role as a device to bypass existing government censorship, to mobilize users, and to empower Chinese Internet users to engage in political activities to foster its nascent civil society.
