This research focused on success factors of transformation projects in Leadership Education and Training (Diklatpim) Level III and IV organized by an Education and Training Center. The Purpose of this research was to analyze the relationships between success factors and cumulative scores obtained by Diklatpim Level III and IV participants on their transformation projects. Therefore, prospective participants would able to get practical formulas to prioritize relatively limited resources in designing and implementing their projects. The quantitative data, in a form of predictor variable was collected from surveys via social media and electronic mail. Meanwhile, dependent variable was collected from implementation reports of Diklatpim Level III and IV. The data was then analyzed with multiple linier regression. The statistical testing met basic assumptions, validity, and reliability with a 90% confidence level. The success determinants of transformation project of Diklatpim Level III and IV, sequentially based on their priorities from the highest, were: (a) an effective project team; (b) comprehensive planning; (c) risk management; (d) availability of resources; and (e) support and approval Keywords: Success Determinant, Transformation Project, Leadership Education and Training   Abstrak Penelitian ini berfokus pada faktor-faktor penentu keberhasilan proyek-proyek perubahan (Proper) dalam Pendidikan dan Pelatihan Kepemimpinan (Diklatpim) Tingkat III dan IV yang diselenggarakan oleh sebuah Pusat Pendidikan dan Pelatihan periode 2015 hingga 2017.

IntroductionNurses are critical to the research enterprise. However all nurses are not prepared to participate as members of the research team since education and training in clinical research nursing and nurse-specific Good Clinical Practice are not consistently included in nursing curricula. The lack of nurse education and training in clinical research and Good Clinical Practice leaves research participants vulnerable with a nursing workforce that is not prepared to balance fidelity to protocol and patient quality care and safety.MethodsA collaborative network of nurses within Clinical and Translational Science Awards and beyond was established to address this education and training need. Over a 2-year period, using expert opinion, Delphi methods, and measures of validity and reliability the team constructed curriculum and knowledge test items.ResultsA pilot modular electronic curriculum, including knowledge pretest and post-tests, in clinical research nursing and nurse-specific Good Clinical Practice competencies was developed.ConclusionsAs the scope and setting of clinical research changes, it is likely that all practicing nurses, regardless of their practice setting or specialty, will care for patients on research protocol, making all nurses, in essence, clinical research nurses. The curriculum developed by this protocol will address that workforce education and training need.

This study assessed local leadership necessary for developing city resilience in the phase of more escalating, complicated and critical disaster phenomenon. The study departed from an assumption of the need for an effective and creative model of local leadership in order to transform risks into resilience, so that the city possesses a local capacity to develop Semarang as the resilient city. Leadership competency can be taught and trained by a leadership education and training under the Center for Education and Training of the Provincial Government of Central Java. Learning premise and practice of the leadership education and training in this study was formulated as follows: (1) Why was the leadership of Semarang Mayor unable to improve effectiveness of state internal bureaucracy towards city resilience?; (2) How was the model of local leadership necessary todevelop Semarang city resilience?; and (3) What learning model of leadership education and training was effective to educate and to train the effective and creative bureaucratic leaders? Using a case study based qualitative approach, this study resulted in as the followings: (1) the mayoral leadership concerning hazard and city resilience issues was proven effective, but was unable to improve the effectiveness of the state internal bureaucracy due to structural conflict; (2) local leadership model related to disaster and city resilience issues that can be applied to Semarang Municipality is a congruent model with public-private partnership approach; and (3) the effective learning model that can be applied to the leadership education and training is a constructivist learning model with an intuitive approach.

Corruption in Indonesia has been increasingly rampant, ranging from high-ranking state officials to lower-level civil servants. The strategic tasks mandated to civil servants have in fact provided opportunities for them to commit corruption. Based on data from Indonesian Corruption Watch (ICW), from 2013 to 2016, most corruptors work as civil servants. Based on this fact, there seems to be an alternative approach that should be more optimized, namely a cultural approach. Indonesia has many unique teachings, one of which is the Javanese philosophy of life (Javanese Wisdom). This study deals with the kualat teaching derived from the Javanese Wisdom as an attempt to prevent corruption among civil servants. This study tries to explain the noble advice in the Javanese society, particularly about kualat teaching. The researcher conducted a survey to Civil Servants to find out whether the kualat teaching still existed in the minds of civil servants. Finally, the researcher offers the idea of the need for internalization of the kualat teaching in the material content of Leadership Education and Training (Diklatpim) IV. The researcher seeks to actively participate in preventing corruption among civil servants.
