Background: Students’ attributions of their grades mayaffect their academic performance. However, lack ofevidence supporting the validity and reliability of theinstruments measuring attribution is a major concern. Objective: To analyze the factor structure, convergentvalidity and reliability of the Academic Attributional StyleQuestionnaire adapted to Mexican high school students(EAT-A). Method: The sample consisted of 557 MexicoCity students of both sexes aged between 15 and 19. Usinga confirmatory factor analysis for both success and failureattributions, a 7-factor structure and a 4-factor structureof the EAT-A were tested. The instrument’s convergentvalidity, internal consistency and reliability were examined. Results: Only the 7-factor structure showed adequate fitindices: RMSEA = .046; SRMR = .053; CFI = .961; TLI =.952 and χ²/gl = 2.72. In addition, the EAT-A evidencedconvergent validity concerning success and reliabilitymotivation. Conclusion: The EAT-A is a quick- and easy-to-administer instrument for measuring students’attributions of their grades in a reliable and valid manner.

This study focused on the statistical technique using factor analysis to validate the scale measuring high school students’ attitudes towards Biology. The study sample consisted of 500 students (male = 220, female = 280) from public and private institutions offering high school education with Biology as an elective subject, in Islamabad. As part of this study, the scale developed by (Ahmad and Jamil, 2019) for the attitude of students towards biology was adopted. Research has shown that attitude and achievement are interrelated. Previously, research studies used exploratory factor analysis to analyze the validity of the scale construction. The present study used exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis to fill the gap in the literature because, after exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis is required to test whether the models estimate the intended theoretical constructs. Following the procedure of factor analysis, six factors of the Biology Attitude Scale (BAS) were identified. The findings of the study show that the scale had a multidimensional construct. Further, the internal consistency reliability analysis was performed. Cronbach’s alpha coefficient was 0.86 which shows high internal consistency. It is recommended that BAS is a reliable and valid measurement tool that can be used to determine the attitude of secondary students towards Biology.

The purpose of this article is to evaluate the validity and reliability of the career maturity scale. The career maturity scale is designed to collect research data on the level of career maturity in high school students. It is consists of 12 statement items tailored to the constructs of career maturity: career confidence, uncertainty of career choice, and career knowledge. The results of confirmatory factor analysis indicated that the three constructs of model was well fit (p-vales= 0.50; RMSEA= 0.00; NFI= 0.99; CFI=1.00; GFI=0.99; AGFI=0.98). Further, seven out of 12 statement items on career maturity scale proved valid (standardized loading ranged from 0.52 to 0.72; t-values ranged from 8.08 to 12.25) and two of the three constructs of career maturity scale are reliable (KPK=0.68; PTK=0.70). This shows that the scale of career maturity can still be used as an instrument for data collection and assessment tools.</em>

This study aimed to develop and validate an instrument of career decision of senior high level. Two hundred thirty-three learners from one of the Islamic senior high schools in Yogyakarta were involved in this study. The design of this study was research and development (R&D), which consisted of eight steps: a) identifying the purpose of measuring, b) domain restriction of measuring, c) operationalization of aspects, d) item writing, e) language trial, and field test, f) item selection, g) construct validation, and h) final validation. The researcher implicated students and expert judgments to validate the instrument. A small group and large group instrument try-out were done in this study. To analyze the data, the researcher combined the statistical calculation and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). The result of this study showed that the career decision instrument undergoes some revision before it was fixed. The expert's judgments & result of the small group try-out showed that the instruments must be improved. The researcher revised some items in the instrument and did the large group try-out. The result of confirmatory factor analysis indicated that the career decision instrument was fixed. It was ready to use by the counseling teachers to help the senior high school students make career decisions for their future.

Several studies have shown that entrepreneurial orientation in high school students can predict career choices as businessmen in the future. However, not many studies have developed a measurement instrument for entrepreneurial orientation in high school students in one solid variable construct. This study aims to conduct confirmatory factor analysis and norming on a scale that was previously explored. A survey of 646 high school students was conducted in six large cities throughout the provinces on Java Island, Indonesia. The results of this research confirmed that the construct of entrepreneurial orientation in high school students has three dimensions: innovativeness, risky proactiveness and competitiveness. The study also produced a norm index for junior and senior high school students. This scale will be useful in mapping the level of student’s entrepreneurial orientation and assist high school management bodies to prepare programs that are more suitable to developing entrepreneurial behavior in students.

In order to explain chemistry subjects by linking them to everyday life and accordingly, to improve the quality of education, context-based learning has come into use widely in chemistry teaching recently. The aim of this study is to develop a scale to determine secondary school students’ motivations towards chemistry activities supported with context-based learning. Validity and reliability analysis of the scale were done with the participation of 525 high school students. To determine the structural validity of the scale, exploratory factor analysis was done. The factor analysis concluded that the scale had a three-factor structure with 20 items. Cronbach Alpha internal consistency coefficient of the scale was calculated to be 0.91. Cronbach Alpha internal consistency coefficients of sub dimensions were found to be 0,84; 0,80 and 0.81 respectively. In the light of the findings of this study, the scale developed is concluded to be of use in determining high school students’ motivations towards context-based chemistry. Key words: context-based chemistry, high school students, motivation.

The Leadership/Teamwork Self-Efficacy Scale has been shown to be an effective tool for measuring interpersonal competence beliefs in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics academic settings. However, little is known about its psychometric properties. The present research explored the measure’s longitudinal factor structure in the context of an energy science intervention for high school students. Results of multiple group confirmatory factor analysis yielded evidence of a two-factor structure, as the measure demonstrated strong measurement invariance and excellent test–retest reliability. Results also indicated that latent leadership and teamwork means increased significantly from pretest to posttest, thus also highlighting the efficacy of the intervention in promoting these attributes. Development of leadership and teamwork skills is discussed from trait-based and contextual perspectives.
