Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) — an infectious disease that is spread across the world in the last couple of months — has been declared as a global pandemic because of quick infections and a large number of deaths in the worst-affected countries. The impacts of this pandemic are very significant for the existing global political and economic leadership. The internal policies of the United States and other European countries have plunged the whole world into uncertainty, where China emerges as a new savior. Considering the global politics amid COVID-19, the paper’s main objective is to find out the role of the current global leaders amid COVID-19 and the future of global leadership. Following the qualitative methods of research, this paper critically analyzes the active global role of China to fight against this pandemic by providing necessary assistance to the affected countries. However, this paper shows that although China has emerged as the protector of countries during the coronavirus period, it will have to face many obstacles in leading the post-COVID-19 world order. This paper will help further research on the future of China’s One Belt One Road (OBOR) policy, which is now being used as a ‘global health silk road’.

China’s national strength alone does not ensure its position as a “world leader” or a “competent leader.” It would be prudent for China to consider the international situation. The question arises, “Will China become a super strong or a member of group strong or are we seeing a reversal to the bipolar era?” This article explores the role China can play in the development and change in the world order. Will China police the world along with the United States. The article discusses the background of the super strong and the group strong; how the country could evolve into a “group of strong.” Furthermore, it analyzes the current situation of the world pattern and presents the outlook for the future. Results indicate that peace and development are current themes, and the pattern of future world would depend on the gambling stratagem among the major powers.

This article is devoted to the main problems of interstate cooperation in the oil industry and the high role of the influence of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) on the world economy. Thus, the process of transformation of OPEC from an inactive and inconspicuous organization in the world oil market, as well as the struggle of its members for universal world domination in the oil market. The increased economic growth of some countries in the past years led to the fact that the demand for oil began to exceed the supply, but the relevance of today dictates its own rules against the backdrop of the growing coronavirus pandemic. It is at the turn of the day that the negative factors and consequences of the global pandemic and its impact on oil prices are most clearly visible. The oil giants of the world economy are the OPEC member countries, which, as the current picture shows, fully control their oil resources and oil prices. Moreover, the current picture shows that oil has become the subject of major global speculation, showing that not only economic growth, the integrity of the world economy and the world order are under threat, but also the entire world energy balance.

The Yalta-Potsdam system of international relations, established by culmination of World War II, was created to maintain the security and cooperation of states in the post-war world. Leaders of the Big Three, who ensured the Victory over the fascist-militarist bloc in 1945, made decisive contribution to its creation. This system cemented the world order during the Cold War years until the collapse of the USSR in 1991 and the destruction of the bipolar structure of the organization of international relations. Post-Cold War changes stimulated the search for new structures of the international order. Article purpose is to characterize circumstances of foundations formation of postwar world and to show how the historical decisions made by the leaders of the anti-Hitler coalition powers in 1945 are projected onto modern political processes. Study focuses on interrelated questions: what was the post-war world order and how integral it was? How did the political decisions of 1945 affect the origins of the Cold War? Does the American-centrist international order, that prevailed at the end of the 20th century, genetically linked to the Atlantic Charter and the goals of the anti- Hitler coalition in the war, have a future? Many elements of the Yalta-Potsdam system of international relations in the 1990s survived and proved their viability. The end of the Cold War and globalization created conditions for widespread democracy in the world. The liberal system of international relations, which expanded in the late XX - early XXI century, is currently experiencing a crisis. It will be necessary to strengthen existing international institutions that ensure stability and security, primarily to create barriers to the spread of national egoism, radicalism and international terrorism, for have a chance to continue the liberal principles based world order (not necessarily within a unipolar system). Prerequisite for promoting idea of a liberal system of international relations is the adjustment of liberalism as such, refusal to unilaterally impose its principles on peoples with a different set of values. This will also require that all main participants in modern in-ternational life be able to develop a unilateral agenda for common problems and interstate relations, interact in a dialogue mode, delving into the arguments of opponents and taking into account their vital interests.

The central idea of Henry Kissinger's latest book, The Global System, is that the world desperately needs a new world order, otherwise geopolitical chaos threatens the world, and perhaps chaos will prevail and settle in the world. According to Kissinger, the world order was not really there at all, but what was closest to the system was the Treaty of Westphalia, which included about twenty Western European states for almost four centuries.
