Student difficulties in understanding algebra particularly in factoring is because teachers have not been able to utilize manipulative objects (props) as a medium to narrow nature of mathematical abstraction itself. Props mathematics is a concrete object that can be manipulated, in order to bridge mathematical abstraction. Flip-flops and frond thatch are two things that will serve as a manipulative object in learning algebra. The purpose of this study are: (1) to describe the use of flip-flops and frond thatch as manipulative objects to enhance the ability algebra of junior high school students; and (2) To know the use of manipulative objects flip-flops and frond thatch will reach or not the ability algebra of junior high school reached an average of more than 65. This study is a quantitative study with experimental method. In this study there is only one group of research subjects derived from the 3 school level (low, medium, and high), the experimental group doing mathematics by using manipulative objects. To determine the ability of an algebraic increase to more than 65 will be used t-test. The result showed that the tcount ttable (5:44 1.67), so in this case H0 is rejected. Further in the learning process was also found that the students are very easy in factoring a quadratic equation by using the manipulative objects. The conclusions of this study are: (1) Learning with the use of flip-flops and sago palm frond as manipulative objects to the increased ability of algebra junior high school students has been going well and facilitate student. (2) Learning mathematics algebra material using props from the flip-flops and frond thatch can improve the understanding of junior high school eighth grade on the material algebra reaches an average (μ0) of more than 65.

Abstract Representation is the embodiment of a student's idea of a problem, and representation is used to assist students in solving the problem. This research is qualitative research that aims to analyze students' representational abilities in solving problems of a two-dimensional figure. The research instrument consisted of test questions with two-dimensional figure material and interviews. The research subjects were 2 junior high school students in Surabaya City who had different representational abilities. The results showed that students had moderate representational abilities because they gave rise to 2 indicators of representational ability, namely indicators of verbal and symbolic representation in different ways of conveying, but the two subjects had not yet produced indicators of visual representation.

Methodology: The method used in this study mix method research design with an exploratory mix method approach. The research subjects were students of Budi Mulia Dua Junior High School in Yogyakarta, Indonesia with a sample of 151 students, 7 teachers, 3 educational staff, and the head of Budi Mulia Dua Junior High School Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Research data were collected through observation, interview, questionnaire, and documentation. Main Findings: The results of this study indicate that the gadgets playing behavior of students in Budi Mulia Dua Yogyakarta, Indonesia are included in the good category, which is in the range of scores between 379-492. The score of the gadgets playing behavior was 484.3. Applications of this study: The students still have emotionally stable and controlled when using gadgets, have self-control over the use of gadgets, still pay attention to personal health in the use of gadgets, and discipline in the selection of gadget usage. Novelty/Originality of this study: The novelty of this research confirms that the physical-motor condition in gadget playing behavior is the most dominant factor for creating good behavior for students in playing gadgets because the physical-motor becomes a reference in playing gadget behavior because physical-motor can reflect in a complex way how Student cognitive knowledge about gadgets. and their use, as well as how students are social-emotional when using gadgets.

The research objective was to increase the career maturity of junior high school students through career planning training based on five stages of decision making CASVE Cycle (Communicating, Analyzing, Synthesis, Valuing, Exception). The research method was a quasi-experimental study with a one-group pretest-post test group design. The research subjects were 10 students who were taken by purposive sampling. The research instrument used a career maturity scale and data analysis used the Wilcoxon statistical test. The results showed that career planning training increased the career maturity of junior high school students.

This study aims to examine the misconceptions that often occur in junior high school students on the concept of geometry based on abstraction level. The research method is qualitative with a case study design. Subjects in this study are 27 students of the 3rd grade of junior high school students, who had to learn all the concepts that will be appeared on the test. Material that will be given on the test of this research is the concept of Triangle, Quadrilateral, Flat Side Geometry and Curved Side Geometry. This research takes a place at one of the junior high schools in Cimahi. The instrument in this study is a diagnostic test (to find out the types of students’ misconception), mathematical abstraction tests (to determine the level of abstraction) and interview rubrics. Misconceptions produced by students are closely related to students’ mathematical abstractions, the higher the level of abstraction ability, the more students away from misconceptions. The topic taken in this study is the topic of basic geometry, the results can be a source of information about the types of misconception that often occur in students, and how the solution so that these misconception do not re-occur.

Assistance to da'wah activities on an ongoing basis will provide a complete understanding of the year process and da'wah conveying religious teachings carried out by religious leaders as well as Ustadz and Ustadzah to instill moral values for today's Millennial young generation. The da'wah process is usually carried out with a well-organized plan to be carried out so that the pattern of teaching religious guidance can be understood by the Ummah and the community as well as Junior High School (SMP) students in the special Central Jakarta area and DKI Jakarta in general. Assistance by making systematic planning to change the perspective and insight of da'wah activists when providing an understanding of well-defined religious teachings. The mentoring process by making plans for da'wah activists consisting of Ustadz and Ustadzah, as well as Islamic Religious Education Teachers at the junior high school level by providing virtual training and providing direct training materials even with the implementation of strict Health Protocols so that they can be applied easily by them when doing da'wah activities to realize the values of religious teachings to the Ummah and Society, as well as junior high school students. The results of the mentoring and training turned out to have made da'wah activists have good insights and could be applied among the people and society, as well as junior high school students virtually due to the pandemic situation. Every mentoring process by making good plans is still carried out so that the da'wah orientation can provide a good understanding for the people and the community as well as junior high school students.

The MOS Battery of 8 tests was administered to a sample of junior high school students along with the DAT Battery also consisting of 8 tests. The test-taking time for the MOS Battery is 42 min.; for the DAT Battery, it is 186 min. Multiple regression equations and multiple correlation coefficients were calculated for both batteries in predicting the final marks in Grades 8 and 9 of 88 male and 65 female students. The results, which were similar to those obtained in an earlier study conducted at the senior high school level, revealed that both batteries are essentially equally valid predictors of success in the basic academic courses of English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. A difference in the results for the junior high school samples and senior high school samples of the previous investigation was noted in that memory for facts as measured by the MOS Memory Test and knowledge of good English Usage as measured by the DAT Sentence Test appear to influence the final grades of junior high school students more than they do those of the senior high school students.
