Nowadays, the development of information technology is very fast, which allows many companies to receive the latest information technology to support the smooth running of the company's business. CV. Dewi Bulan is a small and mediu enterprise (UKM) that produces incense stick. The problems that faced by CV. Dewi Bulan is an inefficient business process, its business activities are still manually recorded, documents related to the sale, production and purchase of raw materials are still handwritten on a form in the company and the bookkeeping is done once a month. These documents cannot be accessed in real-time. This problem causes delays in processing of customer orders. The solution to overcome this problem above is to implement Enterprise Resource Planning, where in practice, ERP can automate business practices and company business procedures. ERP implementation uses a technology that is using Odoo version 11.0. This research method consists of six stages of the research process, namely; literature study, data collection, data processing, application modeling, system testing >and implementation, also conclusions and suggestions as well. The final stage in this research is to conduct a survey with the UAT questionnaire and a Likert scale to assess the satisfaction level of Odoo application users. The results of the questionnaire were dominated by the assessment of "Satisfied", this indicate that the business improvement process is made were acceptable and applied in CV. Dewi Bulan. In this era of global competition, companies need to shorten the production cycle, responsive to market dynamics and customer demand and to strengthen information exchange system. In this competitive environment, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is very helpful in integrating the management of all the company's resources. In manufacturing companies such as furniture, raw materials shall be made available for the production process. Shortages of raw materials can be anticipated early through inventory information that can be accessed quickly and accurately so that the business process is still running. This study aims to assist companies in implementing ERP systems by proposing strategies and tactics to overcome the problems encountered in implementing ERP systems. ADempiere as one ERP applications can help manage the transaction data and inventory business processes to improve corporate performance. The stages are carried out in this research is to identify problems, analyze business processes, election ADempiere application modules, implementation and testing of applications. Business processes are identified consisting of sales, purchasing and production. The results of analysis of business processes described in the Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN) and a working model of the system is shown by the use case diagram. System test results obtained by comparing the ERP system using the manual system. The test results prove that ADempiere can produce the raw material inventory information in real time, generate transaction reports purchases, sales, production, and financial reports automatically so that it can help company leaders make decisions quickly and accurately.

ABSTRACT The objectives of the Elizor Case are to give students experience with business process analysis by requiring them to first document an “as is” raw materials purchasing process during the planning for an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system implementation and then to have students determine issues inherent in the process that will necessitate process redesign. Students will learn the difference between two types of process redesign—business process reengineering (BPR) and business process improvement (BPI)—synthesize this knowledge in order to identify process issues inherent in the case, and suggest process redesigns that an ERP system will need to provide so that the purchasing process is more efficient, effective, and controlled. The case has broad appeal for faculty teaching ERP systems and/or business process management.

 Cloud computing is the buzz word in today’s Information Technology. It can be used in various fields like banking, health care and education. Some of its major advantages that is pay-per-use and scaling, can be profitably implemented in development of Enterprise Resource Planning or ERP. There are various challenges in implementing an ERP on the cloud. In this paper, we discuss some of them like ERP software architecture by considering a case study of a manufacturing company.

Saat ini proses bisnis pembelian, persediaan, dan penjualan barang yang berjalan di Toko Soviah  masih dilakukan secara manual serta belum adanya data pelanggan tetap ditoko tersebut. Hal ini menyebabkan beberapa permasalahan antara lain, sering terjadi kesalahan pencatatan pembelian dan penjualan barang, perhitungan transaksi yang lama, lambatnya informasi ketersediaan barang di gudang serta belum adanya upaya untuk meraih loyalitas pelanggan dalam bisnis yang dijalankan. Oleh karena itu, perlu penerapan Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) dan Customer Relationship Management (CRM) untuk sistem informasi pembelian, persediaan, dan penjualan barang serta pengelolaan hubungan dengan pelanggan yang bertujuan untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut. Tahapan penerapan ERP ini dimulai dengan studi pendahuluan. Aktivitasnya yaitu pengenalan perusahaan dengan wawancara dan observasi, mengidentifikasi proses bisnis pembelian, persediaan, dan penjualan barang yang sedang berjalan kemudian membuatkan usulan sistem secara terkomputerisasinya, yang digambarkan dengan menggunakan Business Process Model Notation (BPMN), serta penggambaran model kerja sistem yang akan diterapkan menggunakan use case diagram. Tahapan selanjutnya adalah melakukan studi literatur dari berbagai buku dan jurnal untuk mencari landasan teori dan penelitian terkait. Kemudian melakukan pemilihan perangkat lunak ERP, setelah itu melakukan konfigurasi dan kustomisasi modul perangkat lunak ERP tersebut, serta terakhir melakukan penerapan dan pengujian. Hasil yang diharapkan dari penelitian ini adalah dapat mengatasi permasalahan pada Toko Soviah. 


This chapter explores the concept of infoprocess. Concepts of process in various disciplines are examined in preparation to conceptualizing process from the management and IS perspectives. Business Process Reengineering (BPR) and Business Process Management (BPM) are discussed as the approaches relevant for IS research. The discussion proceeds to infoprocess (short for “informing process”), which is defined in terms of interrelated informing activities that deliver an outcome to a customer. The concept of infoprocesses involves aspects of data, cognition, and their intersection that results in information. Many organizational processes are infoprocesses, or have infoprocess segments. An analytical framework that applies to business process and infoprocess alike is elaborated. It includes two essential segments—design and performance. Infoprocess design is discussed in terms of composition, coordination, complexity, flexibility, and technology. Infoprocess performance is discussed in terms of process time, costs, and customer value. Process design determines process performance. Better performance can be achieved by optimizing each design aspect. Ensuing discussion covers the process-centered organization in conjunction with Enterprise Resource Planning systems and the BPR methodology. Challenges of BPR are examined and contrasted to the BPM approach. In the second part of the chapter, attention turns to the role of process approach in advanced forms of organizing. The virtual organization is discussed and expanded with exploring virtualness at large and a model of Tree of Virtual Life. Next, organizations enabling e-commerce and the mobile enterprise are examined from the process perspective. The discussion concludes by looking at potential perils of the process approach framed as a collision of different concepts of time.

This chapter introduces collaborative commerce as a means of integrating information technologies into e-business adoption. It explains how companies use information technology to achieve a closer integration and a better management of business relationships among business partners, including internal personnel, business partners, and customers. In this chapter, collaborative commerce is defined as (1) a collaborative technology, similar to workflow collaboration; (2) a customer-driven technology, similar to a pull-type supply chain; (3) a functionally integrated technology, similar to concurrent engineering; and (4) a business-driven technology, similar to enterprise resource planning, for cross-organisational integration. The authors hope that understanding the characteristics and infrastructures of collaborative commerce can improve the adoption of the technologies.

Resistance to change has long been recognised as a critically important factor that can influence the success or otherwise of implementing any technological innovation. Information technology (IT) focused interventions, for example, business process re-engineering (BPR) and enterprise resource planning (ERP), are often quoted as examples of costly failures, with reported levels of dissatisfaction with strategic IT investments ranging from 20-70 percent and that employee resistance was to blame. The intention of this chapter is to rethink resistance. The author suggests that resistance remains to this day a complex, multi-faceted phenomenon that continues to affect the outcomes of change, both negatively and positively. Although research has procured a solid understanding of resistance and the benefits that can accrue to an organisation through its proper utilisation, it appears that the classical adversarial approach remains the dominant means of managing resistance because such learning is not reflected in modern management techniques. The author concludes that as companies in every industry are now translating the power and possibilities of e-business into strategic and operational realities, new approaches in change management are required to help organisations to understand the complex dynamics of technological innovation and especially the multifaceted nature of resistance.
