GPS-DERIVED SECULAR VELOCITY FIELD AROUND SANGIHE ISLAND AND ITS IMPLICATION TO THE MOLUCCA SEA SEISMICITY

<p><em>Sangihe-Moluccas region is the most active seismicity in Indonesia. Between 2015 to 2018 there is four M6 class earthquake occurred close to the Sangihe-Moluccas region. These seismic active regions representing active deformation which is recorded on installed GPS for both campaign and continuous station. However, the origin of those frequent earthquakes has not been well understood especially related to GPS-derived secular motion. Therefore, we intend to estimate the secular motion inside and around Sangihe island. On the other hand, we also evaluate the effect of seismicity on GPS sites. Since our GPS data were conducted on yearly basis, we used an empirical global model of surface displacement due to coseismic activity. We calculate the offset that may be contained in the GPS site during its period</em><em>. </em><em>We remove the offset and estimate again the secular motion using linear least square. Hence, in comparison with the secular motion without considering the seismicity, we observe small change but systematically shifting the motion. We concluded the seismicity in the Molucca sea from 2015 to 2018 systematically change the secular motion around Sangihe Island at the sub-mm level. Finally, we obtained the secular motion toward each other between the east and west side within 1 to 5.5 cm/year displacement. </em></p>

The accuracy of the received signal strength-based visible light positioning (VLP) system in indoor applications is constrained by the tilt angles of transmitters (Txs) and receivers as well as multipath reflections. In this paper, for the first time, we show that tilting the Tx can be beneficial in VLP systems considering both line of sight (LoS) and non-line of sight transmission paths. With the Txs oriented towards the center of the receiving plane (i.e., the pointing center F), the received power level is maximized due to the LoS components on F. We also show that the proposed scheme offers a significant accuracy improvement of up to ~66% compared with a typical non-tilted Tx VLP at a dedicated location within a room using a low complex linear least square algorithm with polynomial regression. The effect of tilting the Tx on the lighting uniformity is also investigated and results proved that the uniformity achieved complies with the European Standard EN 12464-1. Furthermore, we show that the accuracy of VLP can be further enhanced with a minimum positioning error of 8 mm by changing the height of F.

The Roman Ermine Street, having crossed the Humber on the way to York from Lincoln, leaves Brough Haven on its west side, and the little town of Petuaria to the east. For the first half-mile northwards from the Haven its course is not certainly known: then, followed by the modern road, it runs northwards through South Cave towards Market Weighton. In the area thus traversed by the Roman road burials of the Roman age have already been noted in sufficient quantity to suggest an extensive cemetery. The interment which is the subject of the present note was found on 10th October 1936, when men laying pipes at right angles to the modern road, in the carriage-drive of Mr. J. G. Southam, having cut through some 4 ft. of blown sand, came upon a mass of mixed Roman pottery, dating from the late first to the fourth century A.D. Bones of pig, dog, sheep, and ox were also represented. Presently, at a depth of about 5 ft., something attracted closer attention. A layer of thin limestone slabs was found, covering two human skeletons, one lying a few feet from the west margin of the modern road, the other parallel with the road and some 8 ft. from its edge. The objects described below were found with the second skeleton, and the first to be discovered was submitted by Mr. Southam to Mr. T. Sheppard, F.S.A.Scot., Director of the Hull Museums, who visited the site with his staff. All that can be recorded of the circumstances of the discovery is contained in the observations then made, under difficult conditions. ‘Slabs of hard limestone’, it was reported, ‘taken from a local quarry of millepore oolite and forming the original Roman road, were distinctly visible beneath the present roadway—one of the few points where the precise site of the old road has been located. On the side of this… a burial-place has been constructed. What it was like originally it is difficult to say, beyond that a layer of thin … slabs of limestone occurred over the skeletons. This had probably been kept in place or supported by some structure of wood, as several large iron nails, some bent at right angles, were among the bones.’ If this were all that could be said about the burials, they would hardly merit a place in these pages. The chief interest of the record would be its apparent identification of the exact course of the Roman road at a point where this had hitherto been uncertain. Three objects associated with the second skeleton are, however, of exceptional interest.

In this paper, a Nonhomogeneous Poisson Process (NHPP) reliability model based on the two-parameter Log-Logistic (LL) distribution is considered. The essential model&rsquo;s characteristics are derived and represented graphically. The parameters of the model are estimated by the Maximum Likelihood (ML) and Non-linear Least Square (NLS) estimation methods for the case of time domain data. An application to show the flexibility of the considered model are conducted based on five real data sets and using three evaluation criteria. We hope this model will help as an alternative model to other useful reliability models for describing real data in reliability engineering area.

&lt;div&gt; &lt;div&gt; &lt;div&gt; &lt;p&gt;The 2019, M&lt;sub&gt;w&lt;/sub&gt;4.9 Le Teil earthquake occurred in southeastern France, causing important damage in a slow deforming region.&amp;#160;Field based, remote sensing and seismological studies following the event revealed its very shallow depth, a rupture length of ~5 km with surface rupture evidences and a thrusting mechanism. We further investigate this earthquake by combining geological field mapping and 3D geology, InSAR time series analysis and coseismic slip inversion.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;From structural, stratigraphic and geological data collected around the epicenter, we first produce a 3D geological model over a 70 km&lt;sup&gt;2&lt;/sup&gt; and 3 km deep zone surrounding the 2019 rupture, using the GeoModeller software. This model includes the geometry of the main faults and geological layers, and especially a geometry for La Rouvi&amp;#232;re Fault, an Oligocene normal fault likely reactivated during the earthquake.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;We also generate a time series of the surface displacement by InSAR, based on Sentinel-1 data ranging from early January 2019 to late January 2020, using the NSBAS processing chain. The spatio-temporal patterns of the surface displacement for this limited time span show neither clear pre-seismic signal nor significant postseismic slip. We extract from the InSAR time series the coseismic displacement pattern, and in particular the along-strike slip distribution that shows spatial variations. The maximum relative displacement along the Line-Of-Sight is up to ~16 cm and is located in the southwestern part of the rupture.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;We then invert for the slip distribution on the fault from the InSAR coseismic surface displacement field. We use a non-negative least square approach based on the CSI software and the fault surface trace defined in the 3D geological model, exploring the range of plausible fault dip values. Best-fitting dips range between 55&amp;#176; and 60&amp;#176;. Such values are slightly lower than those measured on La Rouvi&amp;#232;re Fault planes in the field. Our model confirms the reactivation of La Rouvi&amp;#232;re fault, with reverse slip at very shallow depth and two main slip patches reaching 30 cm and 24 cm of slip at 400-500m depth. We finally discuss how the 3D fault geometry and geological configuration could have impacted the slip distribution and propagation during the earthquake.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;This study is a step to better quantify strain accumulation and assess the seismic hazard associated with other similar faults along the C&amp;#233;vennes fault system, in a densely populated area hosting several nuclear plants.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;/div&gt; &lt;/div&gt; &lt;/div&gt;

The main objective of this study is to find out the impact of the inflation rate,percapita income as wall as the interest rate on the household comsumption of the population of Aceh.Secondary data 1983 – 2008 are collected or couning from various ageucig and instution and ordinary least square econometric model used as a method of analysis.            The result of the study tells us that the rate of inflation and the percapita income hare positive and significoutly effect on the household consumtion while the rate of interest on the other hand statistically has a negative and not significant effect on the house hold consumption. The interest rate which reflect the influence of the consumption has a positive, not significantly and in elactic.
