The present work studies the engagement of prosocial behavior as an antecedent of affective commitment within for-profit organizations. In order to accomplish this, the work focuses on the role of positive feelings. It tests a partial least square-structural equation model using a cross-sectional survey of 144 professional employees from several Colombian industries. Results obtained show that prosocial behavior is associated with affective commitment, but only with the intervention of meaningfulness at work. These associations provide insight into professional employees’ attitudes towards the search for intrinsic motivation and engagement in for-profit organizational environments. Further implications revolve around the justification for working on practices that not only found and foster prosocial behavior in the workplace but also promote skill variety, task identity, and task meaningfulness to obtain adequate levels of engagement and commitment. Finally, since most studies have been conducted in developed countries, this study also contributes to a better understanding of the topic in previously unexplored contexts. In this case, a Latin American emerging economy, like Colombia.

E-Health is one of the solutions to provide better access for patients and physician to healthcare facilities. In developing countries, e-Health is particularly important due to a shortage of physician and medical workers. Although most physicians in developing countries like Bangladesh acknowledge the benefits of e-Health, low adoption is not uncommon. The objective of this study is to identify the critical factors affecting e-Health adoption among physicians in Bangladesh. A cross-sectional survey questionnaire method was used for this study. The structural equation modeling (SEM) with the partial least square (PLS) approach was used to analyze the data. The study found that Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy, Social Influence and Personal Innovativeness had a significant impact on the behavioral intention to use e-Health, while Facilitating Conditions had no significant effect. The findings of this study will facilitate the degree of more acceptance of new technology by the physicians for their own betterment.

Leaders can influence the prosocial behaviour of employees through their behaviour and action. The study investigated the effect of environmentally specific servant leadership (ESSL) on employees’ voluntary pro-environmental behaviour (PEB) in hospitality firms. In addition, the study examined the mediating role of harmonious environmental passion (HEP) in the relationship between ESSL and PEB. The study adopted the quantitative research design and the cross-sectional survey method was adopted for data collection. The Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modelling (PLS SEM) with Smart-PLS 3.2.8 software was used for data analysis. The results indicated a significant positive relationship between ESSL and employees’ PEB. The mediating effect of HEP is significant. Theoretical, empirical and managerial implications are discussed.

This study aims to identify the determinants that influence the acceptance and usage of ICT among microfinance employees in the least-developed countries. It extended the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model with the inclusion of Innovativeness (IN) from the Diffusion of Innovation (DOI) theory. The quantitative approach was adopted, with a survey questionnaire distributed online to microfinance employees in Yemen, completed by 195 respondents. Both measurement and structural data analyses were employed through Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM), using Smart PLS software. The results show that the UTAUT variables Performance Expectancy (PE), Effort Expectancy (EE), Facilitating Conditions (FC) and IN were significant predictors of Behavioural Intention (BI) to accept and use ICT by microfinance employees, but not Social Influence (SI). The results also reveal that the most significant factors affecting BI were EE followed by PE, IN and FC respectively; BI was the most significant factor affecting Use Behaviour (UB) of ICT among the tested relationships in the study model. Significantly, the results show that IN was a crucial factor as it significantly affected PE, EE and BI to use ICT. The outcomes of the study will assist decision makers to make appropriate interventions for the effective use of ICT by employees in a flourishing and infant industry like microfinance. Consequently, it will help in eradicating and eliminating poverty, a global issue.

The lack of blood donors is a global problem that prevents the demand for blood prompted by an ageing population and increased life expectancy from being met. The aim of this study was to conduct an initial exploration of the reasons for using digital platforms in blood donation. Using a Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) framework, microdata for 389 participants from Latin American countries and Spain, and Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM), the study obtained three main prediction paths. The first two started from feelings of trust in the digital community and a positive mood state associated with a modern lifestyle, and they were linked to attitudes and behavioural control in the explanation of the intention to donate and actual blood donation. The third path started from modern lifestyles, and was linked to the subjective norm in the prediction of intention and actual donation. These paths represent one of the very first attempts to predict intentions of donation and collaborative donation by taking a PLS-SEM approach. By determining the paths underpinning collaborative blood donors’ motives, the results of this study provide strong support for the usefulness of the TPB model within the context of digital platform use and blood donation.

This study aims to investigate the determinants that influence youth in preparing for entrepreneurship in Indonesia. A quantitative approach was applied, using a cross-sectional survey with 425 young entrepreneur respondents in East Java. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). The findings showed that entrepreneurial intentions can be explained by the institutional environment and can provide motivation to start a business. This study confirmed the strong correlation between motivation to start a business and entrepreneurial intentions in preparing for entrepreneurship programs. The aim of this this study is to uncover the impact of Islamic Work Ethics on Attitude toward Change trough organizational commitment as mediating variable. CEO of BPRS (Bank Pembiayaan Rakyat Syariah) in Indonesia was asked to express their opinion about the statements in the questionaire. Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) was used to analyze the complect relationship in the model aided by Visual Partial Least Square (VPLS) software.The results indicated that there is no direct effect from Islamic work ethics on attitude toward change. The interested finding in this research showed that organizational commitement mediated Islamic work ethic in only one dimension, affective commitment. The implication of this research is that management need to develop the application of Islamic work ethic to increase organizational commitment, so that can bring up attitude of employees ready to face change even if only on affective dimension only.

Cloud-based technology, which is now well established, helps in reducing costs and providing accessibility, reliability and flexibility. However, the Yemen higher educational institutions (HEIs) have not yet embraced the technology due to security and privacy concerns, lack of trust, negative cultural attitudes (i.e., tribalism), and most importantly, lack of digital devices experience in educational settings as well as lack of knowledge and technical know-how. Thus, this study proposes a conceptual model of cloud computing adoption in Yemen HEIs by investigating the influence of technology, organization and environment (TOE) factors. In addition, this study investigates the moderating effect of tribalism culture in the relationships between the identified factors and cloud computing adoption. The study employed the quantitative approach to determine the factors that influence cloud computing adoption in Yemen HEIs through a questionnaire survey. Data were collected from 328 respondents in 38 HEIs and analyzed using partial least square (PLS) structural equation modelling (SEM). The results indicate that relative advantage, reliability, compatibility, security, technology readiness, top management support, regulatory policy and competitive pressure have positive significant impacts on the cloud computing adoption, except tribalism culture with negative significant impact. The study also found that tribalism culture moderates the relationship between compatibility, reliability, security, relative advantage, regulatory policy and cloud computing adoption. This study contributes to the TOE adoption model by including the cultural factor as a moderator towards cloud computing adoption in Yemen HEIs. The study also provides a model and insights for HEIs, technology consultants, vendors and policy makers in better understanding of the factors that influence cloud computing adoption in least developed countries (LDCs), specifically, Yemen.

This study investigated the relationships among justice dimensions (distributive, procedural, interpersonal, and informational), university image, service recovery satisfaction, and customer behavioural outcomes (trust, word of mouth, repurchase intention, and loyalty). This study adopted a cross-sectional survey approach and data were collected through a survey of 303 students of Open University Malaysia in Malaysia who experienced service failure and service recovery. The framework was tested via partial least square structural equation modelling, and the results revealed a significant relationship between justice dimensions and service recovery satisfaction in terms of procedural and interpersonal justice. Service recovery satisfaction had a significant effect on all customer behavioural outcomes investigated. University image did not have a moderating effect on the relationship between justice dimensions and service recovery satisfaction. Theoretical and practical implications of the study are discussed in this paper.

Dynamic capabilities describe a firm’s ability to build, integrate and reconfigure internal and external competencies to address rapidly changing environments and improve firm competitiveness. The aim of the study was to investigate the effect of four dimensions of dynamic capabilities (sensing, learning, integrating, and coordinating) on the performance of hospitality firms. In addition, the study examined the mediating role of product innovation in the relationship between dynamic capabilities and performance. The study adopted the quantitative research design and the cross-sectional survey method was used for data collection. The Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modelling was used for data analysis. Based on a dataset of 135 respondents, the results indicated that sensing, learning and coordinating significantly affect the performance of hospitality firms. Innovation mediates the relationship between sensing and learning capabilities and performance. Theoretical and managerial implications are discussed. The provision of seminars and training on dynamic capabilities and innovation to top management and employees is important.

Background: Elderly experiences with degenerative process in their life spam and physical condition as well as their ability to adopt with their environment. Those conditions will influence the achievement of elderly wellbeing.Purpose: This study aims to examine physical wellbeing in elderly based on social support and elderly characteristic.Method: This study employed cross-sectional survey design. The population was elderly who lived in east Surabaya. One hundred and ten of elderly were recruited. Their age was more than sixty years old, living with their family and under Medokan Ayu Public Health Center supervision. Multi stage random sampling was performed. The research instrument was physical wellbeing including elderly autonomy, cognitive, complaining about physical and disease as well. Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Square (SMART PLS) was used to analyze the data.Results: The research results showed that majority of emotional support in social support variable was good (98%). The majority of instrumental support was good (88.18%). Social wellbeing has significant relationship with the elderly physical wellbeing (p 0.312, t-statistic: 4.420, t-table: 1.65), elderly characteristic of holistic care (0.178, t-statistics 2.422, t-table: 1.65), and elderly characteristic of physical health (0.140. t-statistic 1.790, t table.1.65).Conclusion: Social support influences the physical wellbeing of elderly.
