Unlike the previous decades, the global development aid system is more willing to admit a significant role of faith-based organisations in promoting development thinking and in the distribution of development aid. The Lutheran World Federation (LWF) approach significantly contributes to this new thinking, especially as the theological background, global structures, and long-year experience in diaconal work enable the LWF's experts to make credible and feasible utterances in the field of development aid. The article outlines the meaning and global structure of the development aid and contrasts it with the Lutheran, Christian approach to development. It stresses the significance of the theological background of such terms as sustainability and sustainable development and specific assets ascribed to faith-based organisations. The text synthesizes information and observations from relevant literature on development and selected documents of the LWF.

Az utóbbi évtizedben a környezettudatos gazdálkodás szerepének felértékelődése új tevékenységi területet nyitott meg a bankok előtt, amit nemzetközi szóhasználattal élve green banking-nek neveznek. A fenntartható fejlődést támogató projektek banki finanszírozása számos lehetőséget nyit a pénzügyi intézmények számára – hírnév, új ügyfélbázis, kockázatcsökkentés, jövedelmezőség növelése –, amennyiben a bankok a fenntarthatóság elveit megfelelően integrálják működési stratégiájukba. A cikksorozat második részében a szerzők a bankok fenntartható működését támogató külső és belső motiváló tényezőit veszik vizsgálat alá, amelyet már nemzetközi elvek és megállapodások is szabályoznak és támogatnak. Kiemelt fontosságot tulajdonítanak a környezettudatos gazdálkodás banki stratégiába történő integrálásának, melynek alapjait teremthetik meg a cikkben vizsgált nemzetközi irányelvek. ________ In the last decade, a lot of publications came to light, dealing with the social and environmental responsibility of financial institutions. Banks are expected to improve their competitive advantage by demonstrating economic development, while promoting environment care and social responsibility. This sustainable finance means to manage environmental and social risks in corporate lending and project financing. Green financial institutions have developed a wide range of innovations that can support sustainable development. This article highlights a few external and internal factor that support this aim, and which are regulated by international principles. However the authors’ survey shows that in the relevant literature there are a lot of ways to define sustainability and its achievement. They suggest that all of them can be interpreted associated with green banking operation. The goal of this paper is to identify the role of financial institutions in achieving sustainable development, and stress its strategic importance. The authors also attempt to show, why and how can this sector become the promoter of sustainability.

The epidemic of corruption could derail sustainable development of any country, and Vietnam is no exception. From 2016, Vietnamese government had been taking a variety of anti-corruption policies to tackle corruption issues, of which empowering the role of online press has made notable progress in the last few years. This paper briefly reviewed the legal framework on corruption prevention and examined how online press takes part in curbing corruption and its influence on the fight against corruption in Vietnam. The results show that the online press played a significant role in curbing corruption by being a powerful tool for propaganda as well as an active channel to report about corruption in Vietnam from 2016 to 2019. However, there are still many challenges to overcome in order to strengthen the role of online press in fighting corruption in Vietnam.

Good management of charity foundations in Islam, specifically waqf, plays a significant role in achieving sustainable development. However, a substantial proportion of total waqf is still lying dormant across the world. The aim of the study is to obtain a better understanding of the problems related to waqf governance. An exploratory research design which uses depth interview is carried out on the authority which is responsible for the implementation of waqf governance in Kelantan, a state in Malaysia. The findings showed that legislation and inefficient management are among the possible impeding factors for good governance of waqf.

Introduction:The Commonwealth Local Government Conference 2015 – Local Government 2030: Achieving the Vision is taking place at a crucial time of flux and change. The period of implementation for the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) is drawing to a close, and the global community has been and indeed, still is, actively debating what should replace them. Local government is working hard to ensure that the post-2015 global development agenda reflects the important role of local government in defining, implementing and monitoring the new targets. It is a unique opportunity for local government to make its voice heard, to promote the importance of localisation in the debate, and to position local government as a key partner in the implementation of the proposed Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Objective – Sustainable development is a multidimensional concept and therefore requires a varied, nonetheless integrative approach to decision making, creation of policies and fundraising. The aim of this paper is to bring about the main sources of financing sustainable development, as well as to analyze the role of the European Union in supporting global sustainable development goals. Although the EU has welcomed the new global development agenda, and has an important role as a leading global donor of development aid, in order to meet miscellaneous expectations for development effectiveness, within the region and globally, it will need to further its efforts and make more concrete actions and changes towards the path of sustainability. Methodology/Technique - In investigating possible implication for financing sustainable development, authors refer to previous studies and EU reports. Findings - The findings presented implications that need to be done in order to achieve Sustainable Development Goals. Foremost, it depends on successful development of national policies, their synergy and coherence. Public and private, domestic and international sources have an important role in financing development. While a certain level of government involvement is needed in terms of its strategic role and ensuring appropriate public funds, the existence of a healthy and stable economic and political system in the country is more important for attracting private investors. The paper gives an overview of types of forest plantations and their role in sustainable development, with an emphasis on the definition of artificially established (planted) forests and forest plantations. Forest plantations, the most productive part of planted forests, play a significant role in fulfilling the principles of sustainable development. Plantation forestry can provide additional quantities of roundwood and fuelwood (including biomass), additional products in the form of non-timber forest products and additional services in the form of shelterbelts and phytoremediation.

The phenomenon of globalization has entered people's lives, including in Semat Village, Tahunan District, Jepara Regency. The indicator is the development of information technology tools and changes in people's attitudes and lifestyles that tend to follow modern styles. Even though, globalization has not discouraged people from participating in several activities that are in line with the SDGs target in the economic and education sectors, especially in efforts to end poverty and ensure inclusively and quality education. This study aims to emphasize the role of guru ngaji in promoting sustainable global development (SDGs) in the economic and educational domains. A crucial research question that will be answered is whether it is true that global phenomena can cause the younger generation to become increasingly dependent on technological tools and the gradual fading of the sense of solidarity among fellow communities.

Abstract The paper addresses the role of local spatial planning in the implementation of the heritage related goals of Framework Convention on the Protection and Sustainable Development of the Carpathians. The paper analyses heritage related regulations in the spatial plans of three historic Carpathian towns as compared to the results of heritage inventories made for two pilot areas in the Czech and Ukrainian Carpathians. On the basis of the analyses we conclude that local planning regulations are to a great extent in line with the declared goals of the Convention and therefore can play a more significant role in their implementation whereas the concept of a separate Carpathian Heritage Inventory, in spite of its initial intentions, is of little use for these purposes. In the end we call for the use of local spatial plans as tools for the protection of the Carpathian heritage in future activities of the countries party to the Carpathian Convention.
