The genus Alpagut Kıyak, 1995, is recorded from East Asia for the first time based on the description of A. masakazui sp. nov. from Japan. Habitus images and illustrations of diagnostic features, including genitalia structures, are provided. The loculus capsulae of A. masakazui sp. nov. is discussed. The presence of a metacoxal adhesive pad is reconfirmed in Dipsocoridae along with a discussion of its morphology.

An annotated list of dolichopodid species recorded from Kurile Archipelago (Russia) is given for the first time. Sciapus basarukini sp. n. from Kunashir Island is described and illustrated. New records for 26 species, including 8 species new for the Kurile Islands, are presented. Long-legged flies are recorded for the first time from the Anuchina, Tanfilyeva, Polonskogo, Urup, Chirpoy, Brat-Chirpoyev, Simushir, Ushishir, Matua, Raikoke, Paramushir, Kharimkotan, Makanrushi, Atlasov, and Onekotan islands. Two species are excluded from the fauna of Kurils. In total, 54 species are recorded from the Kurile Archipelago that appa¬rently makes up 50–60% of the actual dolichopodid fauna in this region. The trends discovered on the Kurile Islands for plant species, i.e. the landscape diversity and the number of plant species increase from small to large islands, and decrease from southern islands northward, are generally supported by the case of flies of the family Dolichopodidae.

The genus Euhemicera Ando, 1996 (Tenebrionidae: Cnodalonini) is recorded from Myanmar for the first time. The newly identified representatives of this genus are described herein as Euhemicera amicorum sp. n.. An updated species catalogue of Euhemicera with distributional data is provided. Currently, one hundred species are known to represent this genus. Available data reveals that Euhemicera is widely distributed throughout the oriental region, with the highest diversity in South East Asia.

The genus Typopeltis Pocock, 1894 is poorly known regarding its systematics, natural history, and distribution, despite important taxonomic advances during the 1990s. Currently, only 13 species are known from East Asia, including areas in south China, Japan, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, and Taiwan. In this work, we describe and illustrate a new species of Typopeltis from Vietnam and provide a new description for the male of T.guangxiensis Haupt & Song, 1996. Additionally, we describe and illustrate the female gonopod of T.guangxiensis for the first time and propose a new homology hypothesis for the male gonopod parts. The male of T.laurentianussp. n. is characterized by the unique patellar apophysis that presents a smooth texture and no spines. Typopeltislaurentianussp. n. is the third species of this genus to be described from Vietnam.

AbstractThe new species Lecanora ulrikii from Bhutan and Thailand is described. It belongs to Lecanora s. str. and is characterized by relatively large, orange-brown to brown apothecia that are constricted at the base, a clear to inspersed hymenium, an epihymenium of the glabrata-type, and by the presence of atranorin, usnic acid and the isoarthothelin chemosyndrome. Further, three species, L. arthothelinella, L. austrotropica and L. subimmergens, are reported for the first time from Thailand.

An annotated list of harvestmen species (six species in two families) of the Katunsky Biosphere Reserve and adjacent territories in the Altai Republic, Russia is provided. A new species, Sabacon zateevi sp. nov. (♂ ♀ from the Altai Mountains, Russia), is described. Liropilio stukanovi Gritsenko, 1979 is recorded from Russia for the first time, and appearance and diagnostic features of its male are described. The appearance of a living specimen of the female of Homolophus nordenskioeldi (C.L. Koch, 1879) is also provided. For all the studied species, biotope preferences and distribution are discussed. Additional information on morphology and distribution of Sabacon sergeidedicatum Martens, 1989 is given.
